“One of the best places we've ever stayed!”
Reviewed 2 December 2011

We had the most amazing stay at Amori Villa! When we first arrived, we were a little worried that we were too far away from all the happenings in Ubud, but it ended up being the best blessing. For us, Ubud was too loud and commercial, so we were very glad to go back to the peacefulness of Amori Villa at the end of the day. In fact, on several days we only went to Ubud for dinner because we didn't want to leave Amori! The drive was only about 10 minutes to Ubud.

The pictures on their site are true to form, but the real thing is even better than the pictures can portray. This is because the hotel sits at the top of a densely forested jungle gulch that provides the most amazing view. The rooms are gorgeous. I would recommend the Treehouse Villa or Suite 2. Suite 2 has it's own deck with an outdoor table for dining or whatever. The Treehouse Villa had a nice outdoor bench seat that hung out over the jungle, but there was no outdoor table for outdoor dining.

The service is amazing and everyone spoke very good English. Their restaurant is great and I would highly recommend having dinner there.

On a different note, I would highly recommend taking a bike tour with Bali Bike Baik Tours. They will take you on an easy downhill two hour ride that will show you the scenery, teach you about local customs and the rice-growing practice. All on quiet side roads through local villages. Also, make SURE you go to Sari Organics for lunch. You will enjoy one of the most glorious walks (about a 20 minutes) through the rice paddies and then enjoy a delicious meal in an amazing setting!

Overall, this is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. We will definitely stay there when we go back to Bali!

Room Tip: I would recommend the Treehouse Villa or Suite 2. Suite 2 has it's own deck with an outdoor tab...

My 4 day stay at Amori Villa was absolute bliss. The Villa's are tucked away with loads of privacy and wonderful views of the rice terraces and coolness of the mountains. I have never in all my travels experienced such lovely, genuine, helpful staff, every single one of them, could not do enough for us. Such a refreshing change as "good old fashion service" seems to be a dying thing these days!! The food was delicious and the chef so accommodating - willing to cook whatever we wanted. I can't wait to go back!! Thanks for making our stay at your Villas so enjoyable.

Julie Norton

Room Tip: The Tree Top Villa was great as it had a bedroom, plus lounge, plus balcony, loads of room.

Amori sets the standard that all accomodation and resorts within Indonesia aspire to!
We spent time in Seminyak and Lombok as well as Amori in Ubud and our stay at Amori was by far the most memorable. It began with the personal and friendly collection by their driver, moved to a warm and caring welcome by the villa staff and then was topped again by the fabulous villas and views. Everything has been thought of! The room includes rubber flip flops, straw hats and even a beach/shopping bag in case you forget yours! The villa was magnificent and the wet edged pool was beautiful as it hung out over the river far below.
The food that Amori prepares is home cooked and sumptuous. We enjoyed a private candle lit dinner one evening overlooking the river and gully, then returned to our room another night to find that the staff had decorated the bed and outside bathroom with petals. They are so thoughful! I cannot say enough positive things about Amori. It has 5 wonderful villas and is just a great location away from the maddenuing crowd but with easy 5-10 minute access to anywhere in and around Ubud with its in-house driver. What more could you want?
If you go to Ubud you must go to Amori!

Room Tip: There are only 5 villas- all are beautiful!

On a recent holiday with my sister and nieces, our second stop was Amori Villa, Ubud. I couldn't believe we had such an amazing view overlooking the mountains, and a relaxed atmosphere, feeling very far away from our normal lives with only a quick trip into the centre of Ubud.
The staff were lovely and approachable, adding to the experience. The food was a high standard, and the 'Amori Sensation' a big hit!
I would highly recommend Amori Villa to anyone looking for a special experience in Bali.

We started our trip in Bali at Amori. It was a perfect to relax and start enjoying our holidays. The staff was very friendly, they also offered us great cooking lessons.
The swimming pool is perfect.
A good shuttle service to the city center.

This appears to be the Amori Motto! We stayed for 4 nights at the Amori and could not fault the staff and accommodation. The staff were engaging, friendly and extremely helpful whilst the accommodation was second to none. We had a luxurious holiday with cocktails, poolside massages and delicious meals. The owners are delightful and this extends to their staff and accommodation. I can't wait to go back!
PS: The beds are the best I've ever slept in!

We have just returned after three peaceful and relaxing nights at beautiful Amori Villa. The rooms in our treehouse villa were spacious and clean - gorgeous indoor/outdoor bathroom (with the best bath ever), main bedroom with king size bed and living area with very comfortable sofa bed and single bed set up for our two daughters (14 and 17), opening on to a balcony with a beautiful view of the green valley below. The personal service, attention to detail and friendliness of the staff are beyond compare and are really what makes the difference at Amori. The food and drinks are excellent, great value, thoughtfully and tastefully prepared, from the Amori Mint Sensation drinks and delicious onion rings on arrival to our breakfasts, lunch and dinners. Nothing was too much trouble, the drivers were flexible and accommodated all our plans for various trips to Ubud, the staff were informative and gave great advice on where to go and what to do. We enjoyed morning walks through the village and to the temple in the valley, not to mention the amazing pool which is just as good in reality as in photos. We did not want to leave and look forward to returning. Amori is the kind of place you almost don't want to recommend but keep as your own special secret!
