Really enjoyed our stay here. Great location, very quiet but only a short stroll to town. Included breafast was always excellent. Ate dinner there one night which was also very nice although there are many excellent choices in town for a fraction of the cost. Does give you an option of eating at the resort though which was nice. Staff were all fantastic, couldn't fault anything. Made use of the complimentary mountain bikes and did some of the suggested tours which was great fun. Also worth noting was the transport company that the villa uses for any trips outside of town plus to/from the airport. We used these guys several times each time with different drivers and they were always fantastic. Very kind, reliable and drove safely. Great place to stay if you want somewhere peaceful but still close to town.

From our arrival at Sabandari it could not have been better. Dirk and his staff were phenomenal from the breakfast and tea service to arranging dinners and the free car service. The location is outside the hustle and bustle, but the car service makes this a non-issue. The rooms are lovely with the open showers and private porches. Just perfect and a great way to start off our vacation.

When I read the reviews of Villa Sabandari I thought people were exaggerating, but, let me tell you, they aren't. This place is heavenly. From our pick-up at the airport to our drop off by the driver at our next destination in Bali, we were spoilt and taken care off. Not in a sleasy way, but in a friendly and welcoming way. The grounds are gorgeous and I don't think I have ever felt more relaxed than when I was floating in the infinity pool starring out at the surround rice fields. The room was wonderful - spacious, clean, spotless. Fresh fruit every day. Great soap and shampoo that was refilled daily. The outdoor shower was amazing. Breakfast served on our little private terrace was divine; every day a different fruit juice/smoothie and a different meal. Afternoon tea was lovely. One day we went for a walk through the rice fields and surrounding villages - I would warmly recommend that to anyone. There are only 6 rooms so it is nice and quiet. There were no children which was wonderful (not sure if that is the policy, but I hope it is). It is a short walk from the centre of Ubud which is great as you get away from the masses and traffic. To summarise it was incredible and I can't wait to go back one day.

We stayed here for 7 nights and it was just perfect! A warm welcome, great rooms, nice view over the ricefields, beautiful infinity pool, a fantastic breakfast that changed every day, complementary afternoon tea with some homemade snacks,.... and above all a very friendly and helpful staff. We had a lot of tips from Dirk, the owner.
When we come back to Bali, one stopover is already certain, .... Vila Sabandari!!!

Had a lovely time in Ubud,The room was large and we had a very comfy 4 poster bed.The outside bathroom was really novel I haven't showered with frogs before!!, the Villa is lovely and usually quite quiet, though is close to what we were told was a Temple but during our stay they chainsawed and disc cut ( cutting paving or metal) all day for 4 out of the 7 days as this was pretty much the only noise it did spoil it a little for us.Also outside this are that looked straight onto the pool men would often come out to go to the toilet right in front of you! not great but this only happened about three times a day and you could only see this if you were sat by the pool.
Breakfast was a little odd as you didn't get to choose what you wanted they just gave you something each day, usually fruit then a little bit of yoghurt with cereal or granola on top, then stir fried rice or a small omlette, although one day we had a toasted cinnamon and sultana bread with cheese and ham which was pretty unpleasant, the toast was cold, rubbery and stale everyday almost as if they toast it first thing and whenever you had breakfast you had that toast a real shame as they made jams and marmalade which were nice but not on the toast!.The pastries however were lovely and the pancakes were also really good, shame we only had them once and you only had one
Afternoon tea was really nice and most days you had an interesting something to nibble on, it isn't a traditional afternoon tea that is served through out Bali which seems to be larger like an english afternoon tea, this is a great selection of tea's and a quatre of a sandwich or three chicken nuggets or one baby spring roll.We always went out for dinner and can recommend Three monkeys and the Cafe art next door and there are many flashier restauranuts if french or italian are your thing.
The owner is very helpful with plans and walks which was great.
It would be helpful to pay in advance here as we booked online and made a reservation with a card in euro's, when our bill was worked out it was rupiah to euros to pounds and this meant we paid quite a lot more than it should have been 132 to the pound but 120 to the eur, and pound to euro are 1 for 1 we only realised when we had got home and seen our bank statement, if you cant charge in Euro's dont quote in Euros .
The free ride into Ubud is excellent but it is only a ten minute walk .You must try Gelato secrets icecream parlour by the market, it is amazing! the vairhona chocolate icecream and salted caramel icecream are the thing of dreams!(http://www.gelatosecrets.com) the painting shop next to this place is really good too, the nicest cheaper paintings of Ubud life without all the touristy copies that are everywhere and are really dissapointing.A great place to stay for a few days

Villa Sabandari is such a luxury. The look, the feel, the sound, the taste and the smell are all sensational experiences to rest and renew the body and mind. We were pampered and nurtured by the beautiful staff. We cannot fault one minute of our stay and if we are to ever stay in Ubud again, Villa Sabandari will be our hotel of choice. Leeanne and Steven

From the minute we arrived until we sadly left a week later, our stay at Villa Sabandari far exceeded our expectations.
Villa Sabandari is a quiet intimate haven. From the moment you wake up to breakfast on your patio the excellent staff, led by Dirk and his wife Saar, do all they can to ensure that they cater for your every need.
Things we particularly liked were: -
The quietness, spotless rooms, shuttle service to and from the town centre which made things very easy, Dirk's recommendations for restaurants, the view from the pool, and last but not least, afternoon tea was a highlight of our day.
We have started saving for our next visit to Villa Sabandari.
