We recently stayed in the java villa . This is the second time we have stayed here ( other time in bali villa). Amazing views and infinity pool. Staff very friendly and about 1 km to ubud town centre ( down hill walk in) or a $3 transport ride.

Although it has some wear and tear, the gardens , views, and staff are great. Very friendly and obliging.

Ubud itself is also a wonderful place . Much less hustle and bustle . A place to relax.

We didn't stay here but did go for a special birthday lunch at the onsite restaurant called something like Thai Steamboat. The restaurant reservation was made through the resort a few days in advance because we really wanted the steamboat and it did not disappoint. The location was outside of Ubud compared to the other more inner city places but a taxi back to town did not break the bank. Bintang Supermarket is very close just accross the road and down a bit. We caught the taxi back from the supermarket after the meal. The view from the Resort and Restaurant is just stunning. You overlook the pool with a ravine and rice terrace with palms in the background. Just amazing and very relaxing. The steamboat meal included 4 courses and 2 different soup bases for the actual steamboats . The service was welcoming, fast and friendly even though we arrived before our set time to dine. Enjoyed the drinks with the view until the kitchen opened. Cost of the 2 steamboats plus extra courses was 160000rp plus 21% service tax. Try getting anything like a steamboat for that price in Australia. In all this was good value, tasty, different with an amazing view. I would go back for sure. Ubud seemed to be the food capital of Bali this trip. We never had a bad meal in Ubud.

Room Tip: When booking, ask for a balcony table.

Worst hotel experience we had so far!

The bathroom has a *strong* sewage and mould smell. Bed linens weren't clean. Air conditioning is blowing above the bed which was bad for our ears and throats.

My wife couldn't sleep. We had to check out before the first night, but we paid for 2 nights as we initially reserved. That's their policy they told us. Makes sense with such problems.

Other small things: the boy at the reception couldn't speak English very well when we checked in, the hotel has the wrong location on Google maps (it's further away from the city center than we initially thought).

Some good things if you ignore all of the above and book: big rooms with terrace, nice view over the river, breakfast was nice. In general it has lots of potential, but it seems very badly run.

It's actually a really nice place.. only if they'd sort the place out!!

Not even close to enough hot water to fill the spa bath in both rooms, very noisy bed. When moved to a different room 90% of the lights didn't work and their was a sewerage smell coming from the bathroom. In both rooms the water also constantly was turned off.. this happened 5 times in 3 days!! The nicer of the two pools with the best view also had no water in it. Throughout our stay NONE of these things were fixed. Our entree sized free lunch and 2 hr late check out did not make up for any of this this.

Also if you do ignore all this and stay there, don't eat the pizza, it's the worst pizza my partner and I have ever had by far and the restaurants portions in general are very small. turn left out of the hotel and only 100m down the road there's a really nice little restaurant with all kinds of awesome food and not expensive.

Anhera Suite and Spa is a nice place with friendly staff. The first impression at our arrival was wow!A second glimps showed that the place needs redecoration. The lock of the outside door broke twice during our stay.Although there were only 2 suites (out of 8) used during our stay we had to inform the staff daily that we had no water for shower. We stayed at the Sumatra suite which is right on top, quiet and a lovely garden that belongs to the suite. This hotel is about 20 minutes away from Ubud center and if their car is available they take you there. This resort is not for people with walking problems.
What was really bad was our bed.As soon as somebody moved the other woke up because of the noise the mattress made.I told the boss to buy a new one...

We stayed in this hotel for 3 days, end of March. The place is really nice. The bungalow is beautifully decorated, very much Balinese style. We stayed in bungalow Jawa, it has it's own pool with breathtaking view over the hill. Although the hote itself stretches on the hill, so to get to the Jawa bungalow (and the opposite one, can't remember the name) - you need to overcome quite a few steps, which might be challenging if you have bad knees, for example, or any other issues.
There is a damp smell in the room, but I think it's hard to get rid of it anywhere in Bali. The room nice and very clean though, no signs of damp.
Had several meals in the hotel restaurant - the food is good, but portions are tiny. So good for a small bite, but if you are really hungry, you'd better look somewhere else.
Hotel staff is great, extremely nice and helpful.

Room Tip: Bungalows Jawa and opposite to it (can't remember the name) have swimming pool with fantastic vi...

We started at Ubud first so that later when we moved to Sanur, were closer to the airport. Anhera organised an airport pickup in their hotel van which was convenient after a sleepless overnight flight. Staff were very friendly when being greeted as we arrived and throughout our stay. There are 8 large suites, all with spa bath (very relaxing at the end of the day), comfortable beds & large toilet dresser areas & fast wifi. The 2 lower suites share a private smaller pool which overlooks a forested valley. Best view from a swimming pool that I have seen. Hotel has a restaurant & next to the hotel there is also a good restaurant with again magnificient views. The location is just outside the main shopping areas, but close enough for a short taxi ride.

Room Tip: All rooms look private & in good locations. The lower 2 suites with its own pool lets you jump o...
