We spent four nights in Villa Pererepan. The villa is far away from crowded centre of Ubud. It's the first place we can really relax during our vacation. We felt like living in the jungle with birds and flowers surrounded. All staff are very friendly and nice people. A free transport service in Ubud area is available. If you are a eco lover, please don't miss this one.

Room Tip: Villa Pererepan is just fantastic.

It was a great sigh of relief when we arrived at Awang Awang as it was all it promised to be and more. We were a group of 8 (mum, dad, 2 adult sons and a girlfriend plus three teenage children made up our party) with a diversity of needs and requirements.

The villa makes you feel like you are at one with the environment as with a lot of Bali architecture the front gate or door is the only locked area and the rest is open and breezes flow through, no feelings of being trapped or at arms length. There are also amazing noises at night and they mostly come from small geckos, birds and the odd monkey. There is also local artwork on the wall and that adds to the flavour of the Villa.

'Wow' were the comments heard over and over again from the family as we went through the Villa and saw the charming and very traditionally Balinese décor and the INCREDIBLE view down through the valley. There are three levels. First level and entry point has a central living area with several seating groupings and the wide balcony with day beds and recliners - it is open to elements and insects. Off of this central room is the master suite and two other bedrooms with a share bathroom. Down the stairs to the central eating area and another open area/balcony that again looks down the valley and over the pool, two more bedrooms and bathrooms off of this and a small kitchen. Then down to the third level with the infinity pool and some sun beds. The pool was lovely and not too deep - I even went for a dip (first time in 20 years) and loved it - hard to keep the kids out of it.

There was more than enough rooms and configurations for us all and bathrooms and toilets (very important). The beds were very comfortable and requests for extra pillows etc. were met.
The staff were very attentative, friendly and respectful and we ate at the villa several times and it was good wholesome food. We ate breakfast every morning looking down the valley and it was just an extraordinary privilege to be amongst this kind of landscape. The Manager/owner of the Villa helped us book activities, despite many changes in plans, accommodating us with every new plan, each day.

The Villa is a short drive out of Ubud, amongst small communities and rice fields - really beautiful landscape and very nice to get away from the honking of horns and frenetic activity that sometimes can be found in the larger towns in Bali. You will experience true relaxation. If you want to go into Ubud or around the countryside at anytime this will easily be arranged and all the drivers are knowledgeable locals that can communicate well in English (my Indonesian is very basic).

Villa Awang Awang was an amazing place to stay and will be remembered by our family for many reasons.

Room Tip: If you are after an air-conditioned room then this is probably not the villa for you. There is one r...

My wife and I spent our honeymoon at Villa Awang Awang. The villas are beautiful! But the best part is that it is just outside of Ubud. We enjoyed the city, but even more we enjoyed the peacefulness of the villa. The staff was fantastic and villa does a fantastic job providing transportation since it is outside of the city. We would look forward to staying again.

We spent five nights at Awang Awang during our honeymoon. The villas are beautiful - positioned on a mountainside in the jungle and surrounded by the sounds of nature. We felt like royalty sleeping in the master bedrooms with their amazing artwork and comfortable beds.
Mornings were spent looking over the edge of the infinity pool at the lush green landscape. Showers were a delight under the open sky hidden by gorgeously carved stone walls.

It was an incredible retreat from the busy city and although the drivers brought us to town daily- we loved coming back to Awang Awang.

The staff was extremely attentive and kind. Our favorite part was meeting and spending time with the manager, Agung Dewa, who lives with his family in the surrounding village, and eating at their neighboring organic restaurant Padi Organic. It is obvious that Villa Awang Awang has a nice relationship with the village and is a positive addition to the town. I highly recommend a stay in any of their villas.

We stayed here in October 2013 and had an unforgettable time. The staff is exceptionally friendly and the hotel grounds are beautiful. We first stayed in the eco-villa and afterwards were upgraded to the 5 room villa. Both places had their own charm, but what made it so very special was the staff. All staff comes from the local village and they are very welcoming. Getting to know the staff, their families and traditions was a truly remarkable experience for which we are very grateful.
We especially liked the five bedroom villa. We have travelled quite a bit around the world, but this place is one of the most remarkable ones. When you have some time, you might just be lucky to see the monkeys roaming in the below rainforest, you will definitely see the fireflies in the evening and some bats flying over your head at night trying to catch the flies around the lamps on the ceiling.
The hotel is located a bit outside of Ubud, which is actually not a big deal, as there is a hotel shuttle and it is easy to find a taxi back to the hotel at night.

We thouroughly enjoyed our stay. The Villa Beiji is ideal for family with two children. The staff is great and the accommodation really very special.
The whole team spoiled us with good service, food and attentiveness. The complimentary driver service to downtown Ubud brings the center very close.
I only can recommend this villa!

We stayed in Villa Beiji for a week, and everything about this place was wonderful! This was our first time in Bali, and everything about Awang Awang, and Ubud in general was amazing. The property is lovely, full of winding stone staircases, shrines, and gorgeous tropical plants. The villa was great, very roomy, the beds were comfortable, and the open air shower was a great touch!
The pool was nice, a great place to relax and watch the sunset while listening to the river in the valley below. Breakfast every morning was delicious, we loved trying all the different juices- the avocado was especially nice! The fruit was fresh and lovely and the rice porridge with coconut milk was amazing.
Having never been to Bali before we weren't entirely sure how getting around was going to work, but Dewa Agung was very helpful in arranging all of our sight seeing and trips into town, and we found the rates for a driver very reasonable. What's more, we really enjoyed all of the staff, especially the folks who drove us around, Dewa, Kadek, and Putu. They really knew the area, were great at suggesting temples and sight seeing locations, and typically they knew the location of every warung we wanted to try. We also really enjoyed chatting with them on our way to various places and learned a lot about Bali from them.
We were given directions to the river below which is accessed from a staircase off the road the properties driveway is on, and we walked down (many, many wet stone stairs- wear shoes with some tread) to the river below and went for a swim. The water was nice and cool and swift, and there was a lovely waterfall in the distance we couldn't quite swim upstream to.
In the mornings we took walks along the road the property is on, we went in each direction but generally preferred turning right. Either direction provides lovely view of rice paddies and the mountains.
I cannot say enough what a wonderful place Awang Awang is. It was quiet and lovely, the grounds were well cared for and lush, and the staff was so friendly and accommodating, definitely an amazing place!
