“3rd time”

Have just returned from our 3rd trip to Ubud and Sawah Sunrise in 2 yrs. We would not think of staying anywhere else. Its peaceful and away from the busy main area. The noises of nature make it more enjoyable. We enjoy the walk as you see so much going on around the area. Also see the many frogs and at night the fireflies.
We missed Mary and Wayan's company as they are away but Suma, Nyoman & Koman are fantastic. Always ready with advice and help - and hot water for a cuppa. Rooms are kept spotless, gardens neat and tidy and breakfast always delicious. we consider them our friends and miss them heaps.Having Mary's dog Uma and 2 cats around also help to make us feel like we are at home not in a hotel.
New power poles are being installed to accommodate all the new buildings that are going up behind Sawah so hopefully they will be able to get WiFi in the future.
No hesitation in recommending again. Looking forward to next year.

I just spent 3 great nights at Sawah Sunrise. It was idyllic set amid the rice paddies, on the path out to Sari Organic restaurant (which is wonderful). Mary and staff were all really friendly. This is a great place to simply kick-back and chill. Breakfasts are delish (I am now addicted to banana pancakes) and the sound of nature at night is a beautiful backdrop for sleep.
If you like to be in the middle of it all this is probably not the place for you (although only a 15 minute walk from the centre), there is no TV and no wifi... but if you want to relax, read a book, and take it slow (as I did) then I 100% recommend Sawah Sunrise.

Room Tip: If you get an upstairs room you can leave your windows wide open and catch the night-time breeze com...

I stayed one night here because sadly it's all that was free. They have 4 rooms and seemed to be quite busy even in the low season so get in quick - it's worth it! The rate was really cheap and the room was great - comfortable clean and lovely views of the rice fields. The management were really responsive to emails and the staff were very friendly too. Its close to Sari Organik too which is a plus in my book. I'd definitely stay again.

Room Tip: The fan in my room (room 4) wasnt enough to keep me comfortable but staff quickly assisted with a po...

Love the place, it's tucked right in the middle of paddy fields. The rooms are nice and super clean with Balinese flourishes here and there. The barking, quacking, crowing and chirping noises are okay by us, add a whole new dimension to our experience. Breakfast is delicious and adequate. Location is a little out of the way but not difficult at all to walk from Ubud center. And I love the endless path at the back that leads you to great vista. Every corner is a photo opportunity. Staying in Sawah is more like 'living' rater than visiting Ubud. Recommend this place with no hesitation.

Room Tip: have your b'fast in the garden pergola. great way to meet other guests and to share travel tips...

What a wonderful B&B this was. The location was absolutely beautiful, you wake up to a view of rice paddies, families of ducks waddling about, local workers on the field. As other reviews have mentioned, the sounds of nature are quite loud and may wake you up, but this was no problem for us, in fact it was part of the charm. Good service, lovely breakfasts served to you on your own terrace. Good location to central Ubud, taking in a lovely walk through the paddy fields on the way. The upstairs rooms had the best views and the most private terraces. Truly one of the loveliest places I've ever stayed, I miss it already.

The only reason I'm not giving this property top marks is the inadequately slow fan in our room (no a/c), did not help to cool the room and so made sleeping difficult due to the heat. Also, there was no wifi which would have been helpful, although this may have been due to the rural infrastructure.

Stayed here for severeal night. Guesthouse is a little out of town and not accessible by car. So it`s a 15min walk to the restaurants etc. Location is in the middle of rice paddies and you can just stroll through the paddies - wonderful! The rooms are nice, as was the breakfast. Very helfpful staff! Only drawback were some flies, which haven been in the rooms only one night. Never find out where they came from. Yes, they dont`s have wifi, AC or a pool ...

This is the best accommodation we experienced in Bali. you can walk to a great spa (cantika) and organic restaurant (sari organic) with wonderful views of rice paddies. it is a little bit off the beaten path from the hustle and bustle which we found to be a bonus. Bed is comfortable and room is really clean. spending a little extra to stay here was worth it. at other places in ubud the walls are paper thin but you can't hear your neighbors at Sawah only the chickens (and they aren't too loud). the only downside was no wifi.
