“Good value but not a lot of luxury”
Reviewed 24 November 2013 via mobile

The pictures shared for here, along from the description, make it seem much more luxurious than it is. It is nice enough. We had 1 queen and 1 twin bed in our second floor room, a nice balcony and quick access to a pool. Our bathroom was fine and clean, but a little dingy. Our mattresses were pretty terrible. I loved the quiet considering how central it was and appreciated the fridge in our room. The best part is the quick access to the (awesome) monkey forest. Fair warning I anyone stating here that they're doing a lot of construction for additional buildings.

i stayed 2 nights at this resort, the location of the hotel is good and easy to walk around in ubud but the room i had was not worth the money i paid for.
i mean i could find a lot better room for what i paid for sri bungalows but my room was too plain!
the room was big but not a good layout, the curtains were too light and transparent and you could hear everything around you too well as the thin wall.
the design was like a country house with no comfort, the bathroom was terrible!
there was no amenities, only liquid soap and shampoo on the wall, the water pressure was so low.
the only thing i like was the big terrace with a small rice field but i would not return to stay there or wouldn't recommend anyone.

Stayed two nights at this excellent small resort in the center of Ubud. Outside the hotel is not impressive, a small restaurant for dining, very tiny lobby with only two chairs for guests. But, after you walk inside the resort then everything turns totally different. A beautiful garden, villa style room, vast area of rice field, acceptable swimming pool. The resort is extremely quiet in night time, you can really sleep and relax inside the resort. The center location means that you are in walking distance to everywhere. This hotel is located at the famous Monkey Forest street which a lot of café, restaurant, and shops. The room is spacious, clean, and have a lot of space to sit. Every room has a terrace, and the deluxe room facing the rice field. The only negative side is the water power in shower. While this hotel is surrounded by the rice field, then you will expect some insects, frog outside the terrace area. The resort is well lite at night time although not too bright, but it is very romantic. This resort also has spa area and yoga area facing a small river at the back of the resort. Overall, this is the best small resort in the center of Ubud. Recommended for those you like to enjoy the rice field but still in walking distance to everywhere.

Room Tip: Choose the deluxe room as all these rooms facing the rice field. If you like better view, then choos...

Location is good, offers peace and quiet directly in the center of Ubud. We had a nice room with a view on the garden/rice fields in front and a small terrace in the back. Rooms are basic and clean, lacking privacy though with large windows on 2 sides and slightly transparent curtains. Have to take this into account when having a shower. Also construction works were going on on both sides of our room. The noise is ok, they don't use heavy machinery. This also meant that construction workers were regularly passing by our room, they found it very entertaining to see mee sitting on the terrace in a bikini.
There is a pool but it didn't look very appelaing. Breakfast is ok, nothing special.

We had 5 very comfortable nights in delux accomodaion overlooking the harvested rice fields.
The location is so central that we walked everywhere and enjoyed trying the nearby restaurants which were all very good.
The staff were all helpful and kind. Breakfasts were simple but enough with a choice of American, continental or Asian.
The grounds were well maintained, beautiful gardens.

We stayed in room 17 overlooking the rice Padi’s. Great location on the main street which you don’t notice at all when inside the resort. The room was spacious and clean. Some noise is carrying over from the bathroom however it is not noticeable at all when you close the door. Breakfast was simple from a standard menu but enough to get you going for the day. Overall service was quick and friendly.

Room Tip: Ask a room in the back of the house overlooking the rice padi's

My wife and I have chosen to stay at the Sri Bungalows during our visit in Ubud, encouraged by fellow reviewers. The first impression was not so great, as the lobby area is pretty basic, but once we've entered the gardens behind the lobby things have changed rapidly. The gardens are beautiful, and well maintained. The hotel staff spends quite some time each day maintaining it, and the results are impressive.
We've booked a standard room, overseeing the pool area, with the rice paddies behind. We did not find the pool area noisy (compared to other reviewers), but the walls between the rooms are definitely too thin, we could hear literally everything happening in the room next to us. So I guess your experience depends quite a lot on your neighbors. During the first few nights we have been gradually introduced into the relationship issues of our Australian neighbors, but luckily they've found their way finally to appreciate the beauty and serenity of the location.
The location of the hotel is near to perfect: right at the middle of the famous Monkey Forest Road, yet still far from the outside noise. It's a perfect place to relax and enjoy the silence (as long as your neighbors do the same).
The rooms are spacious, even the Standard ones. We've enjoyed the Balinese style decorations. The pool was great, it was never crowded during the week we've spent there. The breakfast was just OK, with 3 choices of menus available (no buffet). After a few days it gets a little bit boring, having exactly the same food. We've not used the restaurant for other meals, there are so many great options outside that we wanted to explore.
Overall we were happy with the Sri Bungalows, and probably would stay there again.
