We have been in Ubud this september 2011. We stayed in Pramesti. The lady who runs the business is very charming.
In general, is a place that we strongly recommend (for the environment, the delicous breakfast...). However, we stayed in room 6, which is the one on the ground-floor next to the rice field. The bathroom is pretty old, with some little holes on the wall and on the floor, where RED WORMS (from I guess, rice field) find a way to come to the shower. That was really disgusting! We washed them but after a while, more red worms (pretty long) come back again from the holes.

The lady, however, understood our concern and moved us to the room on the first floor, with a new bathroom and red-worm free :)

But anyway, we'd come back! They treat us very well!

Room Tip: Avoid toom 6 (I spoke to a regular costumer and he had the red-worm encounter too). He asked to be moved too.

Stayed here for 2 nights. The bungalows are amazing. So quiet, clean and homely. Had a fantastic veranda with tea and coffee available all day. The staff and the owner are just wonderful. Very chatty and helpful! Also loved buddy the pup! Such a cutie! Gardens are stunning and location perfect. Highly recommended!

Tucked away along a whimsical corridor of Monkey Forest Road this place is the perfect marriage of location, price, and local flair. The bungalows themselves are spacious and a bargain at 200000 IDR per night.. this includes a delectable, delivered breakfast and all day access to coffee and tea. The gardens, off-street location, and friendly staff make for a great night night's sleep.
In addition to a room, we also arranged a long term scooter rental through the owner. We were floored when she offered her own, brand-new Honda Scoopy. For a mere 50000 IDR per day we cruised from Ubud to Amed on the newest, trendiest thing on two wheels.
If you are staying in Ubud, don't miss the treat that this place is. Too sweet to pass up.

Room Tip: Opt for the top floor rooms with rice paddy views.

We have stayed here 4 separate times in the last 3 years. Made' and her family run a top notch operation. Spotless, comfortable rooms. Beautiful garden. Rice paddy view. Rate we paid was 200,000 Rp per nite w/ breakfast served on our balcony. Hotel is accessed via long walkway from Monkey Forest. Nothing but peace and quiet. Hard to believe you're still in Ubud. Coffee and tea available 24/7 in your room gratis.

Staff will help you with anything. Transport, directions. I asked for help getting a backpack repaired. I got it back an hour later expertly repaired. I paid nothing. They will arrange for smoked duck dinners to be brought to and served in the garden. Beautiful presentation. Some of the sweetest and most hospitable Balinese that we have ever had the pleasure of meeting.

We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Ubud.

Room Tip: Top of the building in the back over rice paddy
