The setting was serene and beautiful, though it was the staff that truly made the experience. When we arrived, they were strangers, but by the end of our trip we all felt as though we had made new, life long friends. The warmth of the Balinese people cannot be described. It must be experienced first hand.

I found the Villa Puri Tupai on the internet and was a little anxoius that it would be as good as it sounded. It surpassed all expectations. I stayed 5 nights at Villa Tupai with a group of four women. We each had a king size bedroom with our own beautiful fully equiped bathroom. The Villa is very well designed and the decor in keeping with the location. The gardens are magnificent and the pool big enought to do laps.

The ambiance of Villa Tupai is wonderful and very relaxing. The staff are professional and friendly and willing to all they can to meet any request. The Villa has its own cook, driver , housekeeper and gardeners. We loved the food and ate in on several occasions. the banana pancake in the morning is to die for!

The villa is located down a quiet lane approximately 10kms from central Ubud. The driver is available to take guests inbto Ubud for shopping, dinner and sightseeing so we felt it was a great bonus to be away from the tourist hustle but still easily able to get to the action.

The four of us loved our time at Villa Putri and are all planning to return. It is a little piece of paradise and you arrive home feeling very well rested.

We have spent 3-4 months here every year for the last seven years. We feel like it is our home in Bali. The staff have become our friends and have welcomed us into their lives. The cook, Ketut, is phenomenal and surprised us every day with a wonderful array of ever varied gustatory delight. The grounds are extensive (much larger than most villas in the area) with a gigantic pool and rice barn "pondoks" that children will find irresistible as play houses. The new manager, Sri Mulyani, could not be sweeter, more accommodating or more responsive to our needs. The ever patient Wayan provided us unparalleled access to the cultural life of the surrounding community, and his family has become ours as well. The friends who join us here every year are always "blown away" by the place and their first reaction is "wow!! That enthusiasm only grows greater as they stay longer. Although it's too far to walk into Ubud, that is actually an advantage, as Ubud grows more crowded and traffic-clogged every year and Puri Tupai provides a welcome, tranquil respite from the heat and the bustle.

It was my pleasure and privilege to have my first experience in Bali be at the lovely Puri Tupai. It was a serene and relaxing sanctuary after busy days of sight-seeing and exploring. The food was abundant and delicious, and the staff pleasant and helpful. I would recommend it!

I recently spent a month in Asia and had the pleasure of staying at Puri Tupai. From the moment we arrived we were treated to delicious tropical fruit drinks to aromatic lunches and dinners. For those with food restrictions...no problem. The cooks were able to accommodate my every whim. The villa staff were unbelievably accommodating and very attentive. I can honestly say that I didn't want for anything.

As for the villa itself, it was a little slice of paradise. The rooms were very comfortable and the infinity pool was fantastic. I truly enjoyed my time in Bali made all the more memorable from my stay at Puri Tupai.

Room Tip: I recommend the bedroom with a view of the pool.

Arriving at Puri Tupai is like walking onto a movie set. The house is truly lovely, with lots of open-air living space and it also has air-conditioned bedrooms, which is a luxury in the humid climate. The grounds are beautifully manicured and feature a large infinity pool that is always the perfect temperature - not too cold, not too warm. Sip your morning coffee on the patio overlooking the back yard while listening to the sounds of roosters crowing, the occasional cow mooing and in the distance, the morning call to prayer in the village. The villa staff is friendly and welcoming, and they will take excellent care of you. Great location too, just out side of the town of Ubud where you will find fabulous shopping, restaurants and the famous monkey forest!

Puri Tupai is an oasis in an already magical place. The villa is lovely, but the staff is what truly makes the difference. They are thoughtful, caring and make every effort to meet the needs of the guests. The culinary delights that come out of the kitchen at Puri Tupai are unmatched by most of the restaurants in Ubud. You will feel pampered, safe and well fed! I would return to Bali, to stay here again.

Ask the staff to meet Wayan Pepper!
