Our morning cooking experience with Sang Made was amazing and it’s not just about the cooking. The visit to a local market was interesting and Sang explained the ingredients and products for sale. We then got to learn how to cook, and then eat, some delicious food at his beautiful family home. Getting an insight into Balinese family life, how each home is set out and watching an offering at the family temple made this much more than just a cooking class. Thank you for a fantastic and memorable day - we will be looking forward to trying to recreate some of these dishes at home. We cannot recommend this experience more highly!!!

Just spent an amazing morning at Lobong culinary experience. This is the 2nd time I’ve done a cooking class in Bali and I cannot even compare the two! If you want a full Balinese food and cultural experience go here!

The market tour, introduction to the family compound, teaching us about the ingredients and how to use (and pronounce) them, witnessing offerings at the family temple and of course the delicious food to cook and eat!

Sang Made and his family are incredibly professional, informative and friendly and truly gave us a glimpse of Bali life. Great blend of cooking and culture.

Book this one - best value, best experience! One of the highlights of my many visits to Bali.

We did a private cooking class with Sang and his family and it was truly magical. Sang is just the sweetest, most patient guide and teacher. He explained all the richness and also simplicity of traditional Balinese cuisine. The experience was thorough, illuminating and we learned so much. His home and family are beautiful and we will always cherish this experience. Obviously can’t recommend highly enough!

This cooking session isn't just about teaching how to cook local food, but also about helping you understand local culture. Starting from getting to know the spices you'll be using in local market, allowing you to smell and taste them. Sang but also take you into their homes to cook, where you'll learn about the head, middle, and leg of a Balinese house structure, as well as how they worship their God. You’ll realize every household has a temple. Then, experience cooking and once finished, they will sever you a dining experience reminiscent of a restaurant, but in the serene setting of a plant-filled home." This is a good way to understand local food and culture through Sang’s humor.

Amazing!!! Everything about this experience is just great - from the visit to the market where Made is explaining and showing so many things, to the cooking of the most delicious food in Made‘s incredibly beautiful family home. Having insight in his life and his home was just as nice as the cooking and eating. You will not find a more professional but at the same time so very original and not touristy cooking experience! Highly recommend!!!
