My husband and I were given Villa 4. We asked to switch as we wanted sun and were moved to Villa 1 which gets plenty of sun. We were advised it could get noisy but we didn't mind. What we did mind were the construction workers able to see directly in to our pool area all week. The breakfast was not consistent at all. I ordered the omelette one day and enjoyed it and decided to have it next day as well. It was incredibly undercooked very runny. One other day I ordered the English breakfast which I thought was great with the poached eggs spinach and ham. My hubby and I decided to have this the following day and it was disgusting! There was no consistency. We didn't even order breakfast the remaining three days we were there. The wifi was horrible but we knew this going in so no surprise there. We kept getting disconnected. The villa itself was absolutely gorgeous we saw monkeys everyday 6am-8am like clockwork and it was great. Our biggest pet peeve with Royal Kamuela is the staff! They were so pushy about us booking tours. I read reviews on this subject prior to coming and thought no bid deal. But this was such a pain!! Everyday they would be aggressive with us trying to book any service with them, mainly the tours! On a few occasions we couldn't even get them to leave our room without them pushing us to book the tours. A couple of them wanted us to secretly book tours with them without the hotel knowing so that they could pocket the money. If it was 1-2 times then I wouldn't stress it but it was all the time! Also, they were pushy(calling the room) about us leaving at a certain time everyday so they could clean the room or provide the turn down service. It could be annoying as I shouldn't have to negotiate what time to leave my room.

This was our second visit to RK. We spend 3 wonderful weeks in our private pool Villa, for our 40th honeymoon!
It was great to be welcomed by the same smiling staff as last year. We were treated like family for our entire stay.
The Villas are very comfortable with outdoor kitchen, eating area and lounge. The bedroom large with very big comfortable bed, pillows and lovely linen. The huge bathroom has double spa bath, twin basins, big rain shower and separate toilet. The luxury towels and bath robes are very special.
The 10m private pool is a great bonus for a swim in the hot climate. We really enjoyed this.
Breakfast is a vast array of yummy treats as well as healthy options. Personal food requests are welcome. Afternoon tea each day, served in the Villa or Coffee Shop.
Our Villa, pool and surrounds were cleaned each day, plentiful toiletries and extra towels if required. Turn down service each evening with yummy chocolates.
The location is right in the heart of Ubud, close to restaurants and shopping. Local drop off and pick up supplied with a smiling helpful driver.
All staff are amazing.
Suksma to Oka and all the great team. Hope to see you next year. :-)

My husband and I spent 6 nights here for our honeymoon :) We stayed in Villa 6. We received a honeymoon cake upon arrival which was very lovely. The Villa itself was very clean, comfortable and totally private. Service was always very good at the hotel. The villa was just off the main road with so many things to see and experience. All the staff were fantastic and very friendly! Next time I visit Bali I will be defiantly be staying here!!!!!!!!

The villas nicely combine modern glass design with a beautiful garden setting. All villa facilities were in a very good condition. You feel totally secluded and united with nature; pool and jacuzzi add to the experience of a perfect holiday. Would definitely recommend and stay again whenever we come again to Ubud from our far part of the world.

My wife and I have just left the RK for the 5th time, before leaving we booked up for our 6th visit. I think that is the best recommendation that you can give. We travel to Ubud regularly on business and have stayed at many of the holiday villas but for us the RK is the best.
Location, just off the Main Street. Turn left at the entrance and it is approx 15 mins walk to Ubud market and turn right approx 5 mins and your into Monkey Forrest. It is a great place to walk looking in the shoppe and meeting all sorts of great characters. There is a huge choice of restaurants on your doorstep.
Accommodation, high quality living in a air conditioned area surrounded by glass. It is modern and well furnished a great undercover patio area and a large private swimming pool. There is even a morning " cabaret" the monkeys come along the top of the wall and sometimes swing on the trees. A great view from your window. They are no problem whatsoever, just a great view.
Staff, the staff are exceptional. Oka, Aniek and Witwit will do anything to make your stay memorable. From the ease of check in to overseeing your whole visit there. We were lucky enough to have a romantic BBQ arranged by Oka. It was so nice, the pool was filled with flowers and had lit candles floating. The staff cooked our meal on our patio, they were very discreet. We hardly new that they were there and cooked and served us superb.
Clean the villas and surrounding area is kept up to such a clean standard and consistent, it shows that the staff are very well trained and supervised.
We normally only have time in our busy calendar to stay in Ubub for 4 nights but in October we have decided to stay for 7. This is down to this property and the above mentioned staff.

We stayed for 3 nights this week. We were really impressed by the attentive service and friendly staff. Can't fault the location either- close proximity to restaurants and restaurants. Peace and tranquility only steps from bustling Ubud. Couldn't ask for more!

The first leg of our Honeymoon began here and what a beginning it was! After travelling for almost 24 hours from India (we had a flight via Singapore), we finally reached the place and were enthralled at the sight of our villa. Beautifully done up and extremely spacious, our villa looked gorgeous in the evening around sunset-docorated with flowers and swans made out of towels. The layout of the villas is superb as they are designed to give utmost privacy to the guests. Each villa has a large pool, spacious living room, bedroom and an equally large bathroom complete with a tub.
Being vegetarian, we had a chat with the chef the same evening that we arrived and he was more than glad to provide us a good variety of vegetarian food (it was more skewed towards local preparations, but we didn't really seem to mind). The in-villa breakfast spread was quite impressive and the preparations were relished everyday by us. Pancakes, sandwiches and Gado-Gado salad were just some of the dishes that were served to us.
The location of the villas is simply superb as it is very centrally located on Monkey Forest road in the heart of Ubud and there are easily more than 50 restaurants within a walking distance of 20 minutes. The villas also provided a complimentary drop whenever we wanted to go close-by.
Wivit and team were most warm in their services and left no stone unturned in making our honeymoon a very special one. We also got a complimentary foot massage which was very nice.
Stayed for 3 nights and regret not having stayed longer since this was undoubtedly the best part of our honeymoon. Ubud is a lovely place and culturally, more rich and warm compared to the other parts of Bali, so we hope to visit soon!
