This Homestay is located near Hanoman road in Ubud. There are some pretty good affordable Warangs nearby to have diner. The rooms are basic, but clean. The bed was very comfortable. A nice breakfast was included!!

Had a great time at this place, the rooms are basic but perfectly clean. the real beauty of the place is being at the centre of family life during your stay. You get a really good feeling of how the day passes for the locals. For a cultural experience couldn't recommend it enough!

Stayed here for a brief while, and found it to be adequate, especially for the cheap price! Do not expect luxury, of course, but a basic accommodation with free breakfast in a good location. Most importantly, the family that also lives in the compound are genuinely nice and hospitable, and would do everything to make your stay comfortable. I also enjoyed the eating options in Jalan Goutama (less touristy and slightly less pricey than the main roads).

We had booked Agung cottages but were diverted to this place by the manager of Agung upon arrival, as the 2 places are owned by the same family and it seems they share bookings.

We had the only upstairs room, which was OK but very sparse - no decor at all, bare walls, minimal furniture, a kitchen sink with no plumbing and a 70's motel feel about it.
The compound was cluttered with junk and they were in the middle of building a new wing.

We moved out after 1 night into the Agung which we ahd originally booked - much better for the same price.

We stayed here for 3 nights in December 2011 after a friend recommended it. We had the most amazing time in Ubud and I think having the personal touch and being involved in the family life at the homestay really made it so special. We chose the first floor double room which was the only first floor room, had a great balcony with chairs and table, a queen bed with mosquito net & also a second smaller bed which we used for reading and using the laptop. The beds were very comfortable and with the wooden shutters open on a night & the lovely through breeze we didn't really need to use the air con. As someone else mentioned you can certainly haggle for your room cost here & I think we got a rate of 400,000 p/n including a delicious and substantial breakfast of your choice of eggs/pancakes, tea/coffee and fresh tropical fruit. Other rooms are much cheaper & don't have air con I believe. The homestay has free wi-fi which was a bonus & you can pick fruit fresh from the trees (asking permission first of course). Goutama Street is a real find - very quiet, lots of small restaurants and shops and it has a real craftsman - 'old Ubud' feel yet is just off the main road & a few minutes to the market. Make sure you take the time to visit the Dream Mask shop just down the street - the carvers work so hard to produce beautiful wooden masks.

Room Tip: The large double room upstairs is the best
