Just returned from a 1-week stay at PS in one of their suites (def worth the upgrade). This is a wonderful place, as many of the reviews here detail. Arrived late in the evening in the pouring rain and was greeted with a lovely welcome drink, a 1.5 hour massage then a yummy dinner. All the free perks are a wonderful bonus (fresh fruit, 3 course breakfast, village and rice paddy trekking, yoga, shuttle, bottled water). Laundry service was quick. Any request was met with a quick yes and completed promptly. I visited the spa 3 times (1.5 hour massage, health package, mani/pedi, scrub) and the quality was superb. The food is a shining highlight, very talented kitchen staff, wonderful flavors! Everyone was so friendly, helpful and efficient. Only a few minor quibbles that could easily be fixed: (1) the lighting in the rooms, particularly the bathrooms, is pretty poor, especially for applying makeup, those environmental bulbs just don't cut it; (2) the water pressure in the shower could use a definite power upgrade, but perhaps was an issue in my particular room; and (3) there was a bit of a musty smell in the sheets - at first I wrote this off as a hazard of visiting the tropics, but after staying in 3 other properties nearby and sleeping in heavenly-scented sheets at each of those hotels, I do think this is something that can be corrected. A final note, the property is a good 20 minutes outside Ubud, not really walkable. The shuttle is great, but it departs on the hour, so if you miss it, you are left waiting (or for the more adventurous, pay for a $3-$4 motorbike ride, which is easy to arrange in Ubud). The distance is a plus and minus - I liked being away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud, up in the serence rice fields, but I did find myself rushing in the mornings to catch the shuttle, lest I be stuck waiting for another hour. Just something to bear in mind. Recommend this very special place without hestitation.
