Owner description: Threads of Life is a fair trade business that uses culture and conservation to alleviate poverty in rural Indonesia. The heirloom-quality textiles and baskets we commission are made with local materials and natural dyes. With the proceeds from the Threads of Life gallery, we help weavers to form independent cooperatives and to manage their resources sustainably.

What an amazing collection of very fine local Indonesian craft products, mainly textiles but carvings and other goods too.
Prices are not cheap, but the quality is outstanding.
Staff could be a little more friendly and cheerful: they were a bit dour.

Interesting but not much to see - just a few textiles and staff. We thought we were going to see much more product and women weaving.

Lovely clean well presented shop with beautiful textiles, clothing, table ware, rugs.baskets.
The money goes back to the local communities who are producing these beautiful traditional pieces. These are well made good quality authentic products and as such are more expensive than the norm
Any interest in textiles and helping to maintain traditional workmanship then definitely visit.

A great business that helps revive and preserve traditional weaving techniques. You can buy pieces of the most exquisite fabrics, wall hangings, etc. Well worth a visit.

It was a wonderful experience. It was so interesting to learn what this foundation is doing to keep traditions alive and so much more. The dying process we learned about was fascinating! We all made beautiful batik pieces. The setting was peaceful. The lunch was one of the best meals I’ve had in Ubud. I would love to do a week course.

Thank Ozeone
