“A piece of paradise”

What an absolute gem this villa is. From the moment you step through the gates a sense of peace and tranquility overwhelms you. Villa Tera's Sungai
is all it promises and more. Immaculately presented and maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It provided us with the perfect base to explore downtown ubud, close walking distance to a myriad of restaurants and the main shopping strip. A huge thank you to owners Wayan and Kath for making us so welcome. We will indeed be back to soak up more of the Teras Sungai magic.

Location. Location. Location. Central to so many of Ubud's best attractions, yet away from the busy streets. Once you pass through the ornate doors at the end of the path you enter a world apart. An oasis of lush gardens, traditional architecture and private pool. Separate bedrooms each with their own ensuite was appreciated by a teenage daughter, and the large beds with mosquito nets seemed romantic but also served a practical purpose. The staff were always warm, friendly and attentive. The breakfasts on the terrace each morning were a highlight of every day, the banana pancakes were a favorite. Day trips, drivers or a more adventurous outing were easily organised with the staff . Wayan and Kath were generous hosts ensuring our stay was memorable. Our only regret was that we didn't have time for a return visit to Kofi on Bisma cafe, also managed by Kath and Wayan, for a second lemongrass icecream.

“Total relaxation & beautiful location”
Reviewed 11 August 2013 for a stay in August 2013

If you won't to find a slice of paradise where you will forget the hustle of normal day living, enjoy a tranquil setting and get back to nature Teras Sungai will tick all your boxes. The staff are just delightful, quirky sense of humour and can these guys make a delicious breakfast .. Cath and Wayan are perfect hosts, assisting with booking day trips, and make the time to chat about life in Ubud. We can not thank you enough for a memorable holiday, remember Adelaide has fantastic wineries & we can be the perfect hosts and enjoy " Chardonnay happy hours" ..cheers

“Teras Sungai just gets it right to feel at home in Ubud”
Reviewed 30 January 2013 for a stay in September 2012

Thank you Kath and Wayan and of course Wayan Snr for looking after us so incredibly well for 10 days in September 2012. It was without question the best place we’ve ever stayed in Bali and it’s our 9th trip. We have been looking for a place that is all about Ubud - private, close to the main hub, yet within gardens so you can feel at peace with the world. Teras Sungai offers all this and more. We’ve stayed 5 star, private villas and 4 star but Teras Sungai just gets it right to feel at home in Ubud. First impressions were ‘this is nice’ then it became ‘ this is beautiful’ then it became ‘I never want to leave’. The place just grows on you. There is nothing fancy or fussy, its natural and traditional, yet luxurious in its own way. You’ll know what I mean when you go as its hard to explain. Living is all down by the pool, sleeping up on the terrace with views down into the river valley that separates us from the main drag of Ubud. You are right in the thick of things yet it’s a tropical garden paradise with the most incredible bird sounds in the morning. The first day you are surprised then you really start enjoying how special it is to be hearing all this wildlife so close to town. It’s special.

It’s on the same street as Café Des Artistes and Miros so meals are sorted but it’s a quick and fun stroll to Monkey Forest Road and Jalan Hanoman and all the shops and restaurants. It’s also a nice walk away to the 2 fabulous restaurants out in the rice fields. Be sure to ask Wayan for directions as they are well worth the walk. Also a nice walk to our favourite restaurant – Murni’s. A great hair dresser and Massage Salon and Beautician and cheap and good clothes washing business are just up the path - literally. It’s all so accessible. If you want fancy, this isn’t it, but if you want relaxed, natural, safe and beautiful - this is it. Wayan Snr looks after your breakfast and cooks THE best omelette and fresh juice every morning. Kath and Wayan (owner) set up a private dinner for us one night with traditional roast chicken, full decorations and absolute privacy. We felt very special and the meal was wonderful. One of the best in Ubud and you probably know how good Ubud restaurants are so this is highly deserved praise.

I don’t want to rave too much about it because I still want to be able to stay there every year without fear of it being booked out – and we will be there every year if we can help it.

Thanks again and congratulations on creating such a special place.

See you soon.

“Secluded Villa in the heart of Ubud”

If you are after a peaceful, back to basics Bali villa, Teras Sungai is the place to go.
Five minutes walk from the heart of Ubud, Teras Sungai sits in harmony with its surrounds. Located above a running creek with lots of natural vegetation, you will be thinking you are in a place far, far away!
The rooms are Bali style open air huts with thatched roofs and ceiling fans and each room has its own ensuite.
Down stairs from the rooms sits a beautiful, crystal clear swimming pool, which the kids (5yrs &6.5yrs) made good use of everyday!
At one end of the pool is your very own Bale complete with big day beds and bar fridge and at the other is the kitchen and dining area where staff will fix you a delicious breakfast to start your day, the pancakes were a big hit!
The staff were fantastic and the property is kept in an immaculate state.
We spent 10 nights at Teras Sungai and it was the perfect base for our Ubud holiday!

My friend, her daughter and I.had 3 great nights in this lovely hidden gem just last week. Everything from the lovely bedrooms, cool pool, outdoor sitting area and poolside dining with our own butler to make our chosen breakfasts, made the stay memorable. Even the very noisy frogs after the rain were charming. Very close by what charming Ubud has to offer I have no hesitation in recommending this villa

Annie, thankyou so very much for taking the time to write such a wonderful review, we take great inspiration from it and I always pass on all reviews to our dedicated staff, who make Villa Teras Sungai even more special. I am just sorry we did not get to meet you personally as we were on holiday ourselves. Great to hear the boys keep on doing an excellent job even though we were not here!
