“Adorably tiny, packed with good food!”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

We visited on a Wednesday night, and were 10min late for our booking. The hostess was gracious about this, which we were so thankful for considering how busy it is!

Even though it is small, it isn't packed to the rafters with people. It is seated sensibly and enough so that it can still be romantic.

The dinner menu is not very large as they only cater for a tiny amount of customers. There are the standard curries, and each night there are two different specials. Dinner was absolutely sublime - my partner had the Mahi Mahi and I had the Pork Curry. I am not very tolerant of heat, so I was concerned, but the chef was more than happy to tone down the spice and I loved it. Deserts were fantastic as well, and so well priced (IR27k for a creme caramel).

The waitresses were so cute, and they happily explained everything on the menu. The hostess (owner) visited each table at least 3 times to make sure everything was good.

We forgot to get cash out at an ATM before the meal, but while my partner ran to find an ATM I was not rushed at all, or made to feel like I was taking up space.

Our dinner totaled to IR280k, which is very reasonable considering in included 2 mains, 2 deserts, 1 cocktail and 2 juices.

If we are ever in the area again, we will most certainly return.

“Cute Spot.”

Had a lovely lunch here would recommend booking only a few tables. Food and service was first class and great value for money. Make sure you leave room for dessert to die for. Was the best place we ate in Ubud.

“Amazing good and lovely hostess!”
Reviewed 20 July 2014 via mobile

At this cosy little restaurant hid away in a tiny street in Ubud, I was served a delicious dinner and the best dessert I've ever tasted (creme caramel). The hostess was a very friendly and social lady who really appreciated her customers. I will definitely be back to enjoy another amazing meal at Melting Wok!!

“Bon appetit in Bali!”
Reviewed 20 July 2014

We arrived without a reservation at 6pm...lucky for us, the reservation that was due at our table should arrive at 7.30, so we had plenty of time to order and eat! We chose the special chicken and the special beef - order the medium as even that was spicy to our tastes! The food was evidently prepared with fresh ingredients and the Bintang & Rosé wine were flowing. The owners - French host Géraldine & her chef husband from Laos run a fantastic establishment. We were very impressed by the delicious puddings of crème caramel and chocolate crèpes and even more impressed by the prices (2 mains, 2 desserts, 2 glasses of wine and 2 large Bintang for 300,000 rupiah!) We hope to return for lunch before we leave - with a reservation of course!
