Owner description: The Campuhan Ridge Walk is arguably the best known Ubud trek and with good reason. The sparse crowds and the aesthetically rich vistas remind one of why people from around the world come to Bali. The trail starts at the historical origin of Ubud, the confluence (or Campuhan) of the Wos Rivers.

“A lovely walk whilst in Ubud”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 April 2014

Its a great little walk but its best to do as early as you can as it gets very hot. We went at 8am and we really should have gone earlier as it was a very hot walk still in March.Unless you are going to power walk it for exercise, allow 45 mins to an hour each way to walk to the café and for lots of photo stops inbetween. Café is perfect spot to stop grab a cool drink, revive and head back. Much quicker getting back as its mostly downhill!! There are some steps at the beginning and some hills to climb but there is a path to follow. Don't be persuaded to take bikes unless you want to lug them up all the stairs. Plus the path is uneven in places and cobbled - not ideal for bikes really. Its a lovely relaxing walk with lots of signs to follow to the café. Head to the Ibah Hotel and when you enter the driveway veer left down the hill and take the track to the RHS of the bridge. You will walk past a temple under construction and up you go!!

“A lovely walk but go early - like between 7-8am”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 April 2014

Go early in the day as it can get hot. Take water and your camera. We were lucky enough to have a guide from our villa take us, which meant that we also added a further hour on the other side of Champuan Hotel (there is a flight of concrete steps - lots of them) that takes you through a charming village and the rice paddies. You end up back on the main road but much further up. Take a guide for the second part though, as the route through the paddies was not intuitive and there are no signs. Enjoy.

“Worth it”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 April 2014

A great short walk to get the heart pumping and sweet dripping.

Hard to find the start of the path. EIther through the school or he driveway about 100m before the main bridge.

Only 4km round trip. Walked past three local women who were pregnant in thongs so it's really nothing strenuous. Very picturesque.

“Very photogenic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 April 2014

Not too demanding, flip flops will do, stunning views of the river gorge, fantastic rice terracing, and a deep green colouration which defies belief. Some good birds around for birders, lots of snakes but most people dont see any, some very good huge butterflies.

“Beautiful walk through the country side”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 April 2014

Really enjoyed getting out of busy Ubud to do this peaceful little walk along the ridge. The walk is not very strenuous and there are beautiful views of the jungle as you walk between the tall grass. I would highly recommend doing this walk very early (within the first couple hours after sunrise) as it gets very hot and there is very little shade, plus it is best to do the walk when not a lot if other people are there. Definitely wear running shoes and bring water.

There are great directions on finding the path here: http://www.liveloveraw.com/campuhan-ridge-hike-ubud-bali/
