“remote paradise”
Reviewed 13 July 2016 for a stay in June 2016

this was the first time that we booked a private apartment whilst travelling and was a little apprehensive but I had nothing to worry about as the owner (Max) was very efficient and informative from the initial booking. We arranged our airport pickup with him and drop off to Seminyak our final destination in Bali. The guy was waiting at airport to pick us up with a name board. The car was comfy and cool and the driver excellent. It took around 40 mins to get to accommodation and at first glance it did not look good as had to access through a dark alley at the rear of a shop but when you stepped through the gates it turned into a spiritual heaven! We were at rear of gardens filled with buddhas and shrines. Our accommodation was clean airy and had a wonderful rear private garden. The pool area was steps away and that backed onto rice fields and a beautiful terrace walk. We were blown away by the tranquillity and beauty of the place. The air con in bedroom was extremely effective and quiet. The air fan in living area was also good. There was plenty of equipment for self catering in the small kitchen area with a small oven fridge and oven top plates. The only thing which was disappointing was a faint aroma in bathroom. We did encounter a problem with the safe (electronic) luckily we had tried the combination before putting all our money inside, as it would not reopen. I had to email the owner on second day as the housekeeper had been taken to hospital and no one on site could help us. The problem was sorted very quickly by the aid of young Yogi who gave us a key to manually open door. Other than that there was no problems. If you want to feel as though you are in Bali this is definitely place for you.

“Feel immediately at home in Bali”

Our stay started right at the airport being picked up by Agung (the driver of Max). Agung became our personal driver for the whole stay at Bali; he is a competent guide, loving friend and helped us to get into traditions and culture of the country.
After the warm welcome we found this beautiful apartment which is situated in the middle of a traditional balinese courtyard with temples and beautiful old houses. The apartment itself is clean, spacious and well equipped. Just 15 minutes by foot from the center of Ubud.

“Basic & comfortable”
Reviewed 17 March 2015 for a stay in March 2015

I stayed here for a couple of nights, and was pleasantly surprised; I was expecting it to feel cramped at the size given but it felt larger than I had thought, and very comfortable. The gardens are lovely, and the flat was clean and well supplied. I also stayed at the Villa Sunset View on the same property, which was lovely, but I can't find that one on Tripadvisor to review!

“Just what we wanted!”
Reviewed 31 January 2015 for a stay in January 2015

The studios were great! Close enough to walk to town, but with plenty of amazing restaurants closeby. The apartment itself was comfortable and spacious for the 3 of us. The photos don't really do it justice. The pool was clean and provided a lot of fun times swimming and reading on the sun loungers. I would definitely recommend this property to others, if you are looking for an inexpensive place to stay with all the little extras (decent wifi etc) you would still like to enjoy.

“Piece of paradise”
Reviewed 6 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

The photos do not do this property justice. Was larger rooms than expected and kept lovely and clean. Lots of space in bedroom and lovely to have separate living area, with some cooking facilities and fridge. Within a lovely compound in true Bali style - but the rooms are not 'overly decorated' in tourist style (which I appreciated). Total value for money, including the airport transfers. If you were a family - with the cost being so good - rent both apartments - although there is a day bed in the living room that could be used for sleeping. Air con in bedroom quiet.

Is a little bit of a walk to the Palace (central point in Ubud) - about 15 minutes - so as everywhere in Ubud good walking shoes recommended - but part of the fun of people watching begins every day on that walk. Indus restaurant on opposite side of road which I highly recommend. Within the compound is a restaurant where I had breakfast everyday for about $5 (have to pay by cash). Out the back gate are the paddy fields for a walk as well. Wifi including and not too slow. The manager will take care of laundry if you want. Supermarket and spas within a few yards.

Everything and more! My only negative was that I wasn't staying longer!

I stayed at the studios with a friend and my baby son and the house is just perfect. High standard, very clean and really nicely decorated. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need, which was great specially traveling with a baby. The place is really quiet and it has night security and the staff is really nice. It is the best place I have been in Ubud so far and I highly recommend it.
