I have stayed at the Pita Maha in Ubud on two occasions. It is a lovely resort, the staff are friendly and efficient and happy to make ones stay as pleasant as possible. I stayed in a villa with its own pool, very private...in fact we didn't see anyone else, except the staff and the occasional guest at breakfast. Perfect! The infinity pool is beautiful as it hangs over the valley, and the views from the room are beautiful...rice paddies and lush forest. Would most definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Go the extra and get a pool villa. Very private and wonderfully refreshing.

I couldn't speak more highly of the Pita Maha. The resort was flawless and the staff were beautiful.

We stayed in a deluxe pool villa, had a great Balinese feel and was huge! Could fit a family of 5. We had two beautiful bathrooms with a double bath!

The food was delish & always served with a smile. Every evening there were cocktail and canapés in the lounge.

Only issue would be that the hotel is not wheelchair friendly and there are lots of steps.

If you don't have a pool villa there is an amazing infinity pool in the resort with happy hour from 2-3. We also have a massage in the spa and the girls were professional and very good!

2 days felt like a week, I've never been so rested

We stayed here 11 nights at the end of May/beginning of June. If I go back to Ubud I would not stay anywhere else but here. When we arrived at the hotel we were taken aback by the view from the lobby and were greeted with welcome drinks. The morning started with the most relaxing breakfast experience, in the hotel’s terrace restaurant which overlooked the valley upon which the hotel was built. Panoramic views of the lush green valley and beautiful Balinese flute music set the scene perfectly. The breakfasts were table service rather than buffet and included in our package were a choice of American breakfast, Balinese breakfast or Continental breakfast. We almost always opted for the American Breakfast which included freshly squeezed juice of any mix of fruit of your choice, tea or coffee, a fruit platter of three different fruits prepared beautifully (different fruit everyday), a bread basket which included homemade croissants and pastries, homemade muffins and brown and white toast, two eggs made any way you like (eggs benedict was good), bacon/sausage/ham, grilled mushrooms and tomatoes and homemade hash browns.

We upgraded to a plunge pool villa which meant we had lots of privacy and our own private view of the valley. The villa was really luxurious and spacious and had just been refurbished with real attention to detail. It was well equipped with all the amenities including gowns, slippers, hairdryer, sarongs, insect repellent coil, spray and plug, razor, toothbrushes, sewing kit, cotton buds, cotton pads, shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, body “poof” (for scrubbing), 4 bottles of water and all was replenished every day.

The bathroom was an outside garden type (which might not be to everyone’s taste but I think is usual in Balinese hotels)and had a shower and bath tub and a large statue of three frogs. Another point to note is that if you have problems climbing stairs, it may not be a good idea to stay here as there are a number of steps which separate the villas from the main hotel.
The hotel also served afternoon tea every day between 3pm and 5pm during which some wonderful Balinese delights were served in the lounge area, where you could also get free internet access and access to a printer.

Another good point about this hotel was the fact that it is not too far away from Ubud town centre and the hotel provides an hourly pick up and drop off to the town centre. We decided to walk one day and it took around 20 minutes. The hotel is also opposite the famous Mosaic restaurant where we enjoyed a great fine dining experience. It is also very close to Bali Botanical spa which was very good and reasonably priced for treatments.

The hotel also offered a free accompanied trek across the other side of the valley which had great views and another package included the trek and a massage for $35 but this was offered just before we were due to leave so we did not get a chance to try it.
We could not fault the service of the hotel at all, all of the staff could not do enough to help us, were very well trained and really tried to assist us in every way possible. They treated us like we were one their family. They even gave us personalised leaving gifts on the last day which was so sweet.
If you are looking for great service, luxury and pure relaxation with the option to go to town or do activities then this is the place to book.

We had a very pleasant holiday at Pita Maha Resort & Spa where we stayed for 11 nights.
We booked a garden villa and we got upgraded to a garden pool villa, with no extra costs.
This was the first surprise that we had during our visit.

The staff was helpful all the time, friendly and always happy. The shower was outside the villa, but still in the garden and it was very cool to bath outside. We received newspapers every morning, plenty of food at breakfast.

The villa service was excelent, we ordered breakfast several times in our villa.
They have 3 types of breakfast: american, balinese and continental, but you could order other food if you wanter. We had our villa cleaned every day.
Also we got 4 bottles of water, nuts and fruits on a daily basis in our room.

The hotel has free shuttle service every hour starting with 9 AM until 9:15 PM.

They had nice events organised in the hotel, like dinner with massage or
trekking every morning or painting lessons.

Every day between 3 and 5 PM we could eat a free desert and cofee/tea at the bar.

We had another big surprise when we were upgraded (again) to the spa villa for one night (the last night).
That was an awesome villa, with private infintiy pool, jacuzzi, sauna and massage beds. They really knew how to make you feel happy and enjoy the stay.

In the last day the management offered us a lot of presents and thanked us a lot for our long stay
in their hotel. Great management, friendly staff, breathtaking view, awesome infinity pools.

Room Tip: Choose a garden pool villa, as it has its view to the jungle. 204 was excellent for us.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Pita Maha for our 1st wedding anniversary. The resort is beautiful beyond compare. Staff and Manager Joni were more than accommodating and pleasant. We had a villa (very spacious and comfortable) with our own private pool overlooking the mountains. Resort is close to several shops (Ubud Market), museum and restaurants. They also offer free shuttle service every hour. Resort itself is very well maintained and food is really good. We wish we stayed longer and are looking forward to going back. We would recommend this resort to everyone. And, we will definitely remember and cherish our anniversary thanks to Pita Maha.

This is probably the best hotel/villa I have ever stayed at. It is a lovely quiet private villa own by the queen/king, located near the jungle with a stunning infinity swimming pool, without paying the price at Hanging Garden.

** 15 minutes away from town center - Pita Maha offers free shuttle to town every hour.
** Quiet, clean, private villas with many stairs to the pool or restaurant. People with mobility problems should consider this fact.
** Quality food but limited variety, but again, it's only a shuttle away from town to other restaurants.
** Professional staffs with positive welcoming attitude.

For sure I will be back. Thanks Pita Maha!
