The Pita Maha is not one of the newest developments in Bali. Rooms are a little dated and TV/Communication facilities are not up to date.
But because this hotel has been around for a while the trees and flowers are fully grown and the location is just magnificent. The whole resorts blends perfectly into the environment and even has its own balinese temple.
The staff are very friendly and caring.
To me the Pita Maha is the perfect place to experience UBUD.

We stayed at the Pita Maha for our honeymoon in October 2008. Having only seen this resort on the internet, we were delighted to find it was everything that we had hoped for. Infact it's website doesn't do it justice!
We stayed in a private villa with our own pool.... everything from the customer service, complementary gifts, turn down service, massages, food (especially breakfast) was absolutely amazing! It's a little bit out of Ubud, but not hassle to get around with the free shuttle any time of day or night. We didn't want to leave.

The highlights were -
The huge outdoor bathrooms
The view from inside the villa over the valley & river
The overall service
The abundance of gifts we recieved

Everything we absolutely perfect with no flaws. We recommend this place for the special couples get away especially for honeymooners..... it is a hidden paradise. Would stay here again in a flash. No need for us to upload photos, just check out the website.... it is just as amazing as it looks.

My husband and I loved this hotel! A fancy jungle hideaway for far less than you’d spend in the US, we had our own elegant marble-and-wood villa with a little plunge pool. The hotel’s infinity pool sits below the dining rooms and above the river, with a dream view of rice paddies and palm trees across the way...

The Pita Maha was the highlight of our stay in Bali.
The tranquil setting was our first impression, and upon our arrival the tone was set for the the most wonderful holiday experience we could have imagined. Greeted by the always attentive, kind, and happy staff, we were shown to our villa. We stayed in the Pool garden villa; one of a few gorgeous villas which overlook the lush valley in Ubud. The whole setting is themed in beautiful traditional Balinese style. The private plunge pool was the icing on the cake. We loved the outside bathroom with big tub and lush garden. The resort's description creates a lovely image in your mind only to be exceeded once you're there.

We will stay there everytime we visit Bali.

We stay at the Royal Pita Maha and the Pita Maha twice a year. Each trip we split our stays between the two hotels because we don't know which one we love the most. Both are in spectacular locations. Both hotels have warm and friendly staff who give us excellent service. The villas in both hotels offer privacy, luxury and cleanliness. The Royal Pita Maha is breathtaking in scope; you can catch several elevators down for a swim in the holy spring then wander down to the river and watch the white water rafters gushing by from a table in the organic restaurant. The Pita Maha on the other hand is on a slightly smaller scale, but still has the same landscaped gardens and beautiful walled walkways and fantastic views. We have never been dissapointed and we have been staying with both hotels since they opened. We will count the sleeps till we get back.
