“When I die and go to Heaven I hope it's like this.”
Reviewed 26 March 2012

I have, with my wife, stayed here 4 times in the last six years and it's still as good, if not better than my first night there.
It's so peacefull, tranquil and comfortable, everything is spotless and the staff are really helpful and friendly. We like to have the apartment with plunge pool that looks out over the paddy field, I always put extra water in the fridge for the workers, it looks like hard, hot and dirty work, so a bottle of water or two is appreciated.
Restaurants, shops, markets, places to see, cooking schools and everything you could want is close by. Avoid the monkeys in the park at the bottom of the road, they are thieving little b#@s^%r*s. I was so unstressed there I could slide under a closed door on the way out.

Room Tip: Be friendly on your first trip. The staff will not forget you, I know you will want to go back. Ther...

My niece and I stayed here for several days before heading for the beach area of Bali. From the moment we arrived we were given personalized service in every way you can imagine. The staff were always responsive to every need. The place itself is lovely and calm, set up above other buildings and there was peaceful music in the background all the time. Our room was large and the bathroom huge with the most luxurious tub I have ever seen and a separate glassed shower. My niece reports that the spa was "awesome," but I was content to hang around the pool. We only ate breakfast in and the restaurant served a good one with lots of selections The location is perfect for strolling to shops and entertainment and to the market. There is a cooking school blocks away and we spent a happy morning there cooking Balinese food. The staff went way beyond expectations in helping us with phone cards etc. This is a gem of a place and I can't say enough about it. Definitely 5 star and above.

Our Jungle view pool villa is an oasis from the madness and noise of Jalan Monkey Forrest. The hotel grounds and gardens are beautifully maintained the staff are friendly and welcoming, the room is clean and spacious and the breakfast in the restaurant is delicious. The hotel is centrally located and within a short walk of the market, palace, museums, temples and art galleries.
I gave this hotel overall 4 not 5 because they are currently undertaking a renovation and had not advised this when we booked. I can assure you that an angle grinder cutting tiles at 2.30pm in the afternoon, just when you want to swim in your pool and stretch out on a sun lounge is not relaxing at all...anyway lesson learned we will ask the question next time, "are you doing renovations?" before making a booking.
Otherwise the Komaneka Monkey Forrest is just perfect.

We stayed back in April 2009 and decided to return. We were welcomed as old friends and thoroughly enjoyed our stay once again. Although on Monkey Forest Rd, the accomodation is set well back from the street - the only noise that you here is far off roosters after dawn, and the ducks coming to feed in the rice field. Peace and tranquility, but central to everything that Ubud has to offer.
We'll be returning as soon as we can.

This was my 4th stay at this resort.over the past few years. From the landing at Denpasar to being driven to Monkey Forest and the greeting was above all expectations. Each time the staff, from drivers, reception, room staff , cleaners, etc etc are nothing short of excellent. They always make you feel welcomed and nothing is a trouble for them to assist and spoil you. The rooms are excellent and the value for money is great. My sincere thanks to the management, staff and the Owners for making my stay at this beautiful resort always a pleasure , and I will continue to return to Komaneka . Congratulations and Well done to all. Paul

Room Tip: all rooms are of high standard, with great outlook Ypu won't be disappointed with any room

komaneka does not have such great reviews for nothing! the service is fantastic, the rooms are great, the property itself is small but very well located; loads of great restaurants and bars a short walk from the hotel itself. the breakfast is brilliant and is served at the room on request; the tea is also fantastic. A highly recommended property!

Room Tip: ask for a ground floor room with a garden

This is a truly nice place to stay at in Ubud.
Location is great, pretty much halfway between the market and the monkey forest, you can't be more central.
The hotel grounds are designed decorated with great taste, one side of the gardens opens on a nice rice field, while the pool area faces a nice little river. It's very peaceful and soothing.
The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The beds are extremely comfortable. You can have breakfast on your on patio, facing the rice field.
The staff is really sweet and helpful.
A very very pleasant stay all together.
