Is it possible to have a Love Affair with a hotel?? Lol. This was our third stay in 3 years, again we had the same Pool Villa as last year - so it definitely seemed as if we were 'coming home'. The staff was, as always, perfect. A special mention to Yuli, a beautiful lady who is an excellent ambassador for the Komaneka Group. We cannot recommend this hotel enough - the accommodation, the service and the location is just amazing considering the very fair price. My only complaint is that I didn't stay there long enough...

Our first trip to Bali and we were very anxious about our stay but we quickly realised that Komaneka was like stepping into a relatives' home where nothing but the best was laid on for us. All the staff knew our names even if we hadn't been introduced. The attention to detail whether it was in the way the bed was decorated on our arrival, to the drinks and biscuits in the car that met us at the airport to the insect repellent in our room was beyond anything we have experienced before. The setting was superb and incredibly relaxing. The contrast to the noise and crowds on the streets of Ubud was totally unexpected and almost a spiritual experience once we entered the lobby and gardens. We will return and we will stay longer next time. Special thanks to Yuli.

We had 3 night stay here as a happy accident after accommodation we'd booked elsewhere was unacceptable.
Komaneka is like a balm to the soul and It had me at "Art Galley at the entrance". You have to know the adjoining boutique resort must be something a little different and it is.
Beautifully and mindfully placed into the local, natural landscape - attention to detail is outstanding.
We had 1 night in the suite (wonderful, huge bathroom) and 2 in the slightly smaller deluxe room (flower petal bath to greet us...sigh) which had a picture perfect views of a rice paddy.
Breakfast in the main open air pavilion and complementary afternoon tea by the pool was excellent.
Room service was well priced and delicious.
The spa is beautiful with treatment rooms opening to the surrounding gardens - a nice change from the usual dark rooms.
When it was noticed my friend was unwell one day, congee and fruit were bought to her with get well wishes.
All staff were gently solicitous.
Absolutely no negatives just a suggestion of slightly stronger light bulbs.
If the other properties of this group are anything like Komaneka Monkey Forest, you are in very good hands.
Too many other delightful touches to list - discover then youself.
So...stop looking, pay the very reasonable tariff and just book!

Room Tip: All rooms wonderful but probably preferred the slightly smaller Deluxe room for the beautiful rice p...

.......because it is wonderful! The staff and service are fantastic. The rooms are beautiful. The pool is a dream. The spa is unbelievable (as are the prices). It is located on a great street close to many shops, restaurants, galleries AND Monkey forest!!!! Reasonable rates and great accommodation. When I return to Bali - this is where I will stay!!!

The hotels we stayed at in Bali just got better and better as we travelled around and this was probably at the top of the list. Ubud is a pretty busy town but this hotel although on a busy road has almost no traffic noise to disturb you. It is fairly close to the centre of the town and there are plenty of places to eat and drink (avoid Dirty Ducks restaurant - awful). It is a fairly small hotel and the rooms are all at ground floor level but the rooms are just perfect - large, clean, comfortable and very well designed. We only had breakfast here but there was a huge choice of freshly prepared food and it was a perfect start to the day. When checking out you can leave your luggage at reception and all in all the staff could not be more helpful in arranging taxis or offering general advice. There is a small pool at the far end of the site though we never had the chance to actually use it.

Stayed with a friend during our two nights in Ubud. Perfect location tucked away off the main street in the midst of shopping and restaurants. The staff was so friendly and beyond accommodating! Upon arrival they happily set up our various requests including bike tour, dinner reservations, yoga classes etc and even provided us with complimentary transportation when the car was available. I also highly recommend their spa services- the massage was the best I've had!

I guess my only complaint was that the staff were TOO eager to help... The location is perfect - walking distance to the temple and the Monkey Forest. Get up early so you don't miss the traditional market right down the street. The attention to detail was incredible. The hotel has flashlights, bug spray, and all of the usual amenities. The flowers on the bed make the room smell good. Outside there is a rice field. The bathroom facilities were beautiful -- though I am always concerned about a drop-down bathroom at night.
