What a hotel. We stayed with 5 p. in 3 poolvilla's. Great atmosphere. Great luxury. Great service. Kindest people. The best you can get.

We stayed here for 3 nights and just loved it. It was small and personal. We had a standard room which was lovely and it had all that you would want and was well fitted out. My only complaint was that there was no tea and coffee facilites. I love my coffee first thing in the morning and not being able to have one till we either ordered breakfast or went to the restaurant was not how I like to start my day. Other than this we had a wonderful time. It is a very small quiet hotel and it is not the place for meeting people around the pool but one where you can relax and enjoy the views. I loved the night turn down where 2 of the staff would arrive around 6 pm and tidy the bed , replace the towels and leave fresh water and a small booklet describing something about Balinese culture. I must say the staff were sensational. Very Friendly and eager to please. The location is great and we used it as a base for other tours . I would recomend it highly to anyone especially couples even though I stayed there with my 9 year old daughter. We loved our view of the small rice field and watching and waving to the locals with their beautiful smiles as they went about their daily business. Ducks, cows and all the bird and pond life. I could hardly believe that behind the hustle and bustle of the main shopping streets that this world existed. Loved it and will definately stay again.

This property is small, personal and beautiful. What we loved the most was the superb hospitality shown by the employees there. They were forever warm, smiling and welcoming and went out of thier way to make your stay comfortable.

The pool villa we had was beautiful, clean and well supplied at all times.

Another delicacy is thier after noon tea, which is served with balinese pastries and is simply superb !

We just had 6 days at Komaneka Monkey Forest. We rented a pool villa. It was pricey but so beautiful. It was a little cosey sharing the king size bed with our 7 year old and an extra bed was put in the room for our 12 year old.We found the resort to be so visually lovely.
Each day beautiful hand- made offerings were placed outside our villa for the spirits.
The bath was huge and fresh frangipani and rose pettals were placed next to it so we could have a flower pettal bath.
At night the paths were lit by oil lamps and musicains played at the restaurant-those peacefull Balinese Xylophones. The garden was superb. The staff lovely, the breakfast vast and delicious. The free afternoon tea was a treat as was the specially hand made easter eggs on out pillow on easter Sunday. We slept each night to the sound of a little waterfall coming off the rice paddies.

I just arrived home from a wonderful holiday in Bali. I would highly recommend the Komaneka at Monkey Forest in Ubud. A beautiful property in a fantastic location with extremely friendly and courteous staff. I definitely think it's the little things that can make your experience at a hotel/resort special and the staff and management at this resort thought of everything. It's so nice to feel so well looked after and not just "another guest". I can't wait to go back there!

When we first enetered our pool villa at the Komaneka Monkey Forest we were so overwhelmed! It certainly was like entering a little piece of heaven. There was a beautiful arrangement of flowers on the bed, petals for the sunken bath tub and the outlook onto an idyllic paradise. Unfortunately however being located in the midst of rice fields, we were woken every single morning starting at 2am by a rooster from the neighbouring residence. It was so loud and continuous that it ruined the whole purpose of staying in such a "relaxing" spot. Whilst this is absolutely no fault of the Komaneka or its staff, I would recommend not staying in pool villa 101 which seemed to get most of this noise (or make sure to pack some heavy duty ear plugs - not even sure if this would work though?). The staff certainly did try to offer a solution which was to change venues and stay at the newer Komaneka Bisma at no additional charge and in hindsight, I probably wish we had done so just so we could get at least one nights sleep. We thought that perhaps things would get better after that first night and we would get used to the noise as we really did love the location and the pool villa. But alas, it did not improve - infact I think the noise got worse and worse. It truly was a shame as by the end of our 4 night stay I was so cranky with lack of sleep and just couldn't wait to get home. On the upside, the staff certainly were very helpful and always did their best and the breakfasts we thought were delicious, The private plunge pool was certainly a luxury that we wanted to spoil ourselves with! Some general advice also regarding the midgies (otherwise known as no-see-ums or sand flies in other parts of the world). You need to take some tropical strength insect repellent and perhaps some anti-histamines to control the itch after they bite . I covered myself with repellent whilst sitting by the pool but I am still itching after being back home for over a week.

My family of four stayed at the Komaneka for three nights and was sad that it was for such a short period. You can find a newer and more plush place in Ubud than Komaneka at Monkey Forest but definitely you would not get the feeling that this place gives you.
To all the staffs working there, you guys are the best.Where can you find hotel staff that will run to you with umbrellas when they see you walking in the rain and when you reach the hotel lobby, will have towels ready to wrap your kids so they wouldn't catch a cold.
The hotel was beautiful, location was excellent, room was big, clean & comfortable but in the end it was the staff working there that will see us coming back to this hotel.
Komaneka will always have a place in our hearts.
