Only stayed two nights but wish it could have been longer. Resort grounds are spectacular and maintained with a great deal of love and pride. Staff truly the most gracious, interested and eager to please that I've ever encountered. Our group leaders had organized a tour guide for us, Mr. Jack Bali, really, that's his name! He took us to a wood carving shop where we could watch the artisans work, we went to a batik shop and could see how the artists make those beautiful fabrics, of course we were invited to purchase anything we wanted. At the end of the day, back to our resort paradise for an amazing dinner and slow stroll through the jungle gardens. Plus, free Wi-Fi in the rooms and everywhere else in the resort. Definitely bring bug spray when you're in Bali and plan on spending some time in the monkey forest.

We stayed for 4 nights. At first, we were thinking of staying two nights and change hotel again for the other two. But since it is very comfortable here, we continue to stay to save the trouble. On 12 MAr was actually the silent day here, where all ppl are supposed to stay in. No transport, no shop open on the day. We were worried that it will be boring staying in, but in fact, we can have wonderful time enjoying the nature environment, the swimming pool and massage service in the resort. If coming with family, I would also return back to this resort. Oh.. Just one thing. If you are afraid of frog, butterfly or small insects.. Emm... They might sometimes visit your room. Oh I specially love the bath room, an open concept bath room where u actually see the sky! Nice! Add point to that !

This hotel is not for everyone. It is set on the side of a ravine, with quite a lot of steps down to rooms arranged in bungalow groups, but the views of the river and surrounds were worth it. A bit like the Tjampuhan Hotel, but smaller in scale. The rooms are nice and clean. But we were a bit disappointed with the 2-storey river villa - it was quite small and cramped. Downstairs bedroom was very small and only divided from the living area by a curtain. Upstairs bedroom was better, but no toilet/bathroom or balcony. Kitchen comprised of a sink and fridge only - no plates or cutlery. Not to worry, the restaurant was excellent with a wide range of great dishes - quite reasonably priced too. No need to eat out. Also, the free shuttle service into Ubud central was great and convenient.

I loved this hotel! It's like staying in a park with lush greenery all round and the sound of a river flowing nearby. The grounds are also decorated with religious iconography and the pool is fabulously positioned - seemingly carved out of a rock face. It's so relaxing here with very big rooms that are very clean. The staff are also just sooo nice and friendly! Only disadvantage would be that it's located a little bit outside the town - but there is a shuttle provided. Also, it may not be suitable for those with mobility impairments as it is spread across various levels. I'm definitely going back!

First of all let me advise you there are LOTS of steps and steep paths at this hotel - bucket loads!
Stayed here on advice of a friend but once is enough - definitely just a 3 star resort
Rooms very dark and not welcoming pool great but most of the time there is no one serving at the swim up bar
Comfy bed but the 2 story family suite we stayed in was so noisy everytime kids moved upstairs
Bathrooms dirty and revolting
Breakfast ok but it is not a buffet you only get to order one thing and the portions are small
Also located more than walking distance out of Ubud town but there is a shuttle that is free

The Bali Spirit is in set on the side of the river and blends in with the garden, plants , trees and water features that abound on the property.
The rooms were very clean and well presented with many being recently renovated. The bathrooms and kitchenette area are all new.
The pool is set next to the river and is very well presented and looks great.
The staff were very helpful and extremely welcoming. It is not the place to go if you want wild night life or loud music etc as the theme of Bali Spirit is about taking it easy and slowing down.
The restaurant was good and he food was as good as most in Ubud, the Indonesia selection gado gado and nasi goring were delicious.
The prices are in keeping with the other restaurants in the area.
The free shuttle into Ubud runs a number of times during the day. We uses a
We caught it into Ubud and walked back. It is only about a 15 min walk from the monkey forest.
There area number of restaurants nearby (just across the road from the entrance) about a 5 min walk.
We had no complaints what so ever and really enjoyed our stay there. We will return again.
The only concern would be for anyone with a mobility problem as there a lots of steps as the hotel is built on the side of the river back.

Bali Spirit is tucked in off the main streets and noise of central Ubud. It sits high on the hilltop and overlooks a fast moving river(and the occasional nude bather). The steps to the coffee shop and breakfast area are many but a nice stroll through the gardens.

We stayed in the Rama Site rooms 8&9. This is a suite set up that consists of 2 very large rooms and an adjoining outdoor living area. This has been recently refurbished to a very good standard. The hotel in general is clean and well kept.

Room Tip: Our suite set up was perfect.
