Stayed for 4 nights. Great breakfasts, and staff were super helpful, and friendly. Our room was a little villa with a private pool. The whole ambiance of the hotel was calm, and restful. Free yoga classes at 8am each morning. Great spa.
It is approx 1.5km from main street Ubud, but there is a regular shuttle to and from the hotel - takes 5 mins.
Rooms were clean and bright. A great hotel.

We appreciated a lot our stay in this hotel. Very quiet location in the rice fields, charming room, delicious restaurant (especially the breakfast!), Balinese evening, ... very good located (walking distance to the centre of Ubud + free shuttle every hour)

We stayed for 7 nights and loved every single moment.

The team at Wapa are attentive, well meaning, polite and offer some of the most helpful service we have ever experienced.

Remembering our names and using them to greet us every day even if we hadn’t formally introduced.

Nothing was too much trouble.

Wapa lives up to its mission of providing a home away from home, service that makes you feel like family and provide a holiday experience that will be remembered long after the end of the trip.

Our suggestions to make a great experience even better.

We had a little bit of confusion at check in with our cards ( forgotten to change limits oops) and we suggest that an option be made available for guests to pre pay for their accomodation before arriving ( could offer a complimentary dinner or spa treatment for pre payment of accomodation as an incentive to pre pay). We arrived tired after travelling so to have the pressure of cards not working etc was a bit stressful.

Chefs Daily Specials on the Menu

We ate at the restaurant most days for breakfast and dinner and the Balinese cuisine was brilliant! So tasty and carefully curated for allergies. Thank you - the team looked after us so well.

A suggestion might be to offer - daily specials of “fresh & seasonal” to invite some interest into the menu plus also perhaps attract more people to dine in or drop into dine... could advertise on a sandwich board out the front.

Music played in reception and restaurants.

Be lovely to hear some variety of music... Spotify radio has some amazing playlists and radio stations to explore and keep the atmosphere fresh and interesting.

We absolutely loved everything and only want to see Wapa continue its 20 plus year success.

We stayed in the Wapa di Ume during July 2019. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The hotel has two restaurants, we tried both of them. The kitchen in the one at the entrance is not as good as the other one with the pool in the jungle. The wifi installation gets very slow, when all the users try to use it. Early in the morning and late in the evening it works fast. The staff is keeping the garden in a very good shape. Unfortunately the rear of the houses are close to the road and sometimes we had some smoke and some noise during the night. The hotel runs an exceptionally good working shuttle service to the center of Ubud. We had a free Spa session included in the room, which was nice. The infrastructure of the rooms is good, no TV, however a bit outdated (we had a leaking sink) but shower was working fine. Nice is the fact, that you get free water and fresh fruits in the room every day. Breakfest without buffet, you can order from the menu. Also, you get a dish of fresh fruits at the beginning of your breakfest. It is a place we would visit again but not longer than one or two days. As I mention in the title, the staff does everything possible to make your stay a good stay, but the owner of the hotel should think of investing a bit into the infrastructure (rooms, internet, pools).

The hotel is stunningly beautiful and the staff are so friendly and helpful. We stayed in a Lanai room and it was perfect - the staff even threw in a cake and a free massage as we were on our honeymoon. The breakfast is excellent and they have events such as a bbq with traditional Balinese dancing. Hopefully we will back one day.
