This is an oasis, its authentic Balinese style is lovely. The staff are exceptional ,the rooms are lovely and big and decor is gorgeous . Breakfast is not buffet style but served at your table which makes a nice change from getting up and down and fighting your way through the crowds in big hotels.

The free shuttle bus into Ubud town starts at 9am on the hour every hour and returns at twenty past the hour which is excellent service.

The pool area is divine having the tiered pool and the infinity pool no rushing for a sunbed either.

You can eat very cheaply in town if you go down one of the side streets it's amazing what you ca get for £10!!!

Ubud is also an excellent location for doing any trips as once you get to the south of the island it will take about 2.5 hours to get back up to the north so do your trips from here.

This is a beautiful place for serenety and a peaceful holiday, we loved it.

Room tip: We stayed in room 704 nice view over pool and gardens

Dear Essex Judithchalmers,

Warm greetings from a very different Resort & Spa "Wapa di Ume Ubud'.

We are so excited to read your great review and thank you for sharing your Wapa experience with us.

Indeed we are located in Prime location, close to Ubud center and still with serenity and peaceful atmosphere. The resort is surrounded by beautiful rice fields and valley view, we keep nature as it is and this is one of our commitment concepts.

Thank you once again for your all bold kind words and especially about the exceptional service extended by all staff. We hope that one day the travel brings you back to the Island and look forward to having both of you again to be with the Wapa family.

Yours sincerely,

Budi Sihing

We stayed here for 4 nights and it was an excellent choice. The location is peaceful and calm compared to the hubbub of Ubud - but an easy journey by regular short shuttle service to the centre. The room was great and backing on to plantation fields. The staff were first rate. Highly recommended.

Booked and paid for three nights at this hotel months before arrival, however on turning up after a long flight and transfer told by a very apologetic assistant manager that the hotel was overbooked. Seems this was probably related to a wedding taking place although nobody confirmed this. The long and short was that for two nights we had to stay at another hotel. The room was upgraded to a pool room and a complimentary dinner was provided. But what should have been a relaxing three night stay ended with just the one night. Annoying at the time but ended up OK. The hotel itself was superb the rooms were spacious and well equipped and the pool and restaurant were lovely. Staff could not do enough and were always smiling.

An amazing hotel where the staff are so friendly and helpful and want to make your stay memorable. Our room was beautiful and over looked the ravine. We had a wedding anniversary whilst there and had a surprise cake sent to the room and a romantic candlelight meal in a rice field. The cooking experience was just amazing with a trip to the market complete with a shopping list then cookinga delicious meal in an outdoor kitchen with gas and wood fire. One of us had a known food allergy and the staff were so attentive. A wonderful place to stay

this hotel is set in a beautiful valley with hills and rice terraces around it and a gorgeous river flowing at the foot of the property. We were greeted with a delicious ginger and lemongrass drink and shown around the property. The room we had looked right over the valley and river and it was so lovely to sit on the balcony and look out on the view. The room was bright, spacious and had plenty of helpful amenities. There was an adapter as well as lovely toiletries, a torch, bathrobes and plenty of mineral water. The bed was really comfortable and had a mosquito net.
the pool area is on two levels and there are beds on three levels. There didn't seem to be any service around the pool so we cannot comment on that. The lunch and evening menu is varied but we had the set menu which only consists of an Indonesian or western option which remain the same so if you are going for that more than twice it might get a bit boring. there is a wine list with Indonesian and foreign brands, not cheap but not too expensive either.
The gym has a wonderful waterfall effect across the wide expanse of windows and it had weights, mats and treadmills etc.
The hotel organises a walk at 7am around local rice fields which was very interesting but take comfortable footwear that you don't mind getting muddy if you plan to join it. We did have problems with our booking which meant we had to stay elsewhere on the first night that we were due to stay here. It would have been lovely to have had the extra night here because it is a beautiful hotel. While we were at the hotel we took advantage of the free massages which were fabulous. The spa rooms open out to the valley so whatever your treatment the view makes it even more special. The hotel serves afternoon tea which consisted of sweet and savoury items. It was served in the bar area on the top floor. The views are great but the area did seem a bit unfinished and something of an afterthought we didn't see the bar open at all although there were signs for happy hour.
