We stayed here for six days and were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel, the size of our room and bathroom. Our room had air-conditioning, ceiling fan, refrigerator, an electric kettle and tea and coffee (we stayed in Resi 2). The ambiance of the hotel was also lovely and the surrounds stunning, with frangipani in flower and other tropical flowers in full bloom. We only noticed traffic noise at breakfast however this did not cause us any discomfort or distraction from enjoying the environment. We found the staff to be attentive and very accommodating; we had an issue with a lack of hot water and this was promptly resolved when we raised this with the duty manager. Breakfast was buffet style and included fresh fruit, juice and a selection of eggs cooked by chef on request. Due to replacement of the foot path into Ubud Village, past Bridges, we made frequent use of the regular shuttle bus to and from the hotel and when we chose to leave after the shuttle bus we were able to use the hotel vehicle for a very reasonable fee, which included a drop off at our chosen destination. On days when it rained the shuttle bus dropped passengers closer into Ubud which we greatly appreciated. We will stay here again and are very happy to recommend this hotel to our friends and family.

My wife and I stayed here in August 2013 in a Raja room. The room was huge and had a lovely balcony. The bathroom was a little dated, but was very clean. The room had AC and a fridge. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has a lovely peaceful ambience about it, has beautifully landscaped grounds and is styled and decorated in traditional Balinese style.
We will stay here again when we next visit Bali.

We had 3 nights at the hotel and that wasn`t enough, just beautiful , the buffet breakfast was perfect The room we had was Sawah 2 and overlooked the lush vally at the bottom of the property, it was so peaceful and just what we needed. The mineral pool was just magical as it is fed from a spring deep in the mountain, we spent most afternoons relaxing in the pool. The free shuttle bus into town is great. The room was spacious and we enjoyed the table and chairs on the verandah each morning an night ,reading and relaxing.Overall it was fantastic and we will stay there when we go agin next year with our child !!! AAAAA++++

Room Tip: At night leave the verandah light on that will stop the squirrels pooping on the verandah !!! I thi...

We only stayed 3 days in a deluxe Raja Room, which i suggest you book it does have a fridge, airconditioning, fan and a very large comfortable bed, We found it spotless and the bathroom very big a shower over bath but very clean also. A dressing table, and a coffee table and chairs inside and on the verandah another coffee table and chairs. We were nervous as we heard from trip advisor about bed bugs and i have to say i didint find any and it was thoroughly cleaned with clean sheets everyday so i find it hard to believe there were any anywhere. The breakfast was varied no bacon only downfall. We ordered room service one night and found it quite reasonable a pizza for 7AU$. We enjoyed a delicious meal in the restaurant one night to find the prices quite reasonable i enjoyed a bloody mary and my husband had two small bintangs i ordered the lambchops and my husband order the special indonesion dish all in all under $40.00 au\ The stairs are lit up and a flat break in between them helps i didint find them dangerous but i smoke so i was out of breath by the time i reached the top im nearly 60 and it wasnt too bad at all.The view is magical is all Ill say no words to express it. Yes Ill stay there again, i wanted to stay longer. The staff very pleasant and they do help you with bags to your room sometimes sending two men. Wayan was very good in helping to advise of of how to get around and we have to say thanks Wayan. The staff seemed very happy there as I was told the boss was very good to his staff and looked after them well.I thik this hotel with breakfast t 100au a night to be more then value for money. The Tjampuhan hotel is situated about half a mile from the hubbub of Ubud which is perfect as it can be noisy in the village and gives the benefit of closeness whilst being quiet (note you still need to ask for a room away from the road). After our city view in Singapore the lush forest view with the buzz of animal noise was just what we needed.
The pools and spa are gorgeous and both refreshing and good value respectively. Food is ok but there are lots of great options locally.
An observation, not a criticism, the staff will, politely, try and get you to do trips with them and whilst most people will want to do trips to see the local area you do like to choose your own time for the discussions on this (not during breakfast).
I would recommend the hotel and Ubud to everyone who wishes to see a small sample of local Bali. The hotel and area would be difficult for some due to the step steps in the hotel and very poor surface on the paths in town.

Room Tip: We stayed in Pura 2 which was far enough away from the road to be quiet but near enough to the pool...

We got recommended this spa from a friend and arrived early to enjoy all the facilities. They have hot and cold springs in a cave like environment, the cave was very cool but the hot spring was so hot you would boil in it and the cold spring so cold you lost all senses in your body, so not very enjoyable. We booked in for a transitional Balinese scrub and massage in a couples room. The massage was ok but felt a bit rushed and the scrub was a different experience all together. After laying for 10 min in something that smelled like Christmas pudding they asked us both to get into a tiny bath tub and wash it off. Naked except from wearing small disposable underwear hardly covering more than your most private bits, they watch you while bathing in a now brown water tub. The whole time they where standing there watching us trying to rub off the Christmas pudding scrub, nothing to cover my breasts keep in mind. They also ask us to wash our private areas while standing there!! Never felt so uncomfortable and exposed, could not wait to get out of there! Nice setting but weird environment....

I absolutely loved our stay, was a bit wary before we arrived as I had read a few negative reviews. We stayed in the Coconut 3 (Raja), it was all the way at the end of the resort, so it was a fair hike to our room. Neither myself or my husband a very fit, I smoke and he is a big boy, but we are still fairly young (early 30's) and we were fine with the long walk. A/C was on when we got there but we turned it off and survived nicely with just the fan, might have helped that we were on the ground floor with a room above us. The room was quiet nice, clean and tidy, the bathroom could do with an update but it functioned properly and was clean. During the night there were some spots in the ceiling that dropped dirt on the floor, but it was cleaned up everyday, so not really that big of a deal. We stayed from the 7th-11th Oct. The free Wifi wasn't that great but we managed to get what we needed done (they also have computers for guests to use in the lounge area that have better internet) and really didn't have a problem not having a tv. Figure we were there to enjoy the place not playing around on computers and watching tv. We tried the spa, it was beautiful to sit and soak up the scenery, but the water was a lot hotter than expected, so we didn't stay in long. We booked in and had a spa treatment, really the only problem we found was that you could do it as a couple but the bath that you have a soak in is just a standard size tub. Most of what I have mentioned are the very small inconveniences, I won't go into what I enjoyed or you'll be here forever reading :P I hope this helps and we definitely intend on staying during our next trip :D

Room Tip: Stayed in the Coconut 3, last building at the end of the resort, so its a fair hike. Was the ground...
