“AMAZING.. Better than I what I saw online...”
Reviewed 12 October 2013

It was the high rankings and reviews on trip advisor that helped me select Kenanga for my 5 days in Ubud in early October 2013. Everything was perfect - the rice fields were green and lush and getting near harvest time so they couldn't have been more beautiful. I was shocked at how convenient the hotel was to Ubud yet it felt like it was far away from a city and in the countryside. The staff was amazing, the views from my second floor room were stunning, and my room couldn't have been more comfortable. I could write a million fabulous things but I suggest you go experience it for yourself!

Room Tip: Loved my second story room #16 but they all looked pretty awesome.

Our room was nice and clean with a beautiful view of the rice fields. Unlike other places we stayed in Bali, this hotel didn't have anything to offer that made us not want to leave the property. The pool is very pretty, but very cold...and we are Canadian we can handle cold, but couldn't handle this for more than a minute. We had one minor issue with the AC leaking water but as soon as it was mentioned the hotel staff had it fixed. Try to avoid booking taxis or transfers through the hotel, the majorly jack up the price. For us to get a driver to take us to Seminyak they wanted 550K rupiah, we found our own driver for 250K rupiah without even negotiating down the price. It is the same thing with taxis...they take a big cut. The hotel is located quite far out from the main area of Ubud so you are forced to take taxis which was probably my biggest criticism. The restaurant on site is AMAZING! We ate there for quite a few meals and absolutely loved every one.

This was a the 2nd leg of our honeymoon in Ubud. It was a nice relaxing change rom the rest of Bali. We were given some beautiful flower decorations by the staff when they found out it was our honeymoon which really made my wife's day (we were also given a cake). We stayed in a standard room in the building away from the complex. I would highly recommend staying in this building as there were some rooms scattered around the hotel site which did not open up onto the paid fields.
The staff were all wonderful and we enjoyed our stay very much. Definitely a unique experience!

Another lovely Bali Hotel.
We had a little hick-up with the room description matching the internet offer by Booking.com.
It was stated to have villas. But there are no free standing villas. The bigger Apartments are in a row of 3 rooms together. Also the description of these "villas" with view to the rice field was not correct. A little bit disappointing when one expects something and gets something else.
The owner explained the mistake in the internet desription and was very friendly. The manager shouted us a complimentary massage for 2 as a bonus. The massage was just wonderful, the lady very, very good.
After overcoming our non-view and accomodation, we felt very happy here.
The view to the rice fields were just meters from the "villa" and seen from the restaurant and pool. The pool was very nice.
Just to mention, the cheaper accomodation had the view to the rice field. The rooms are smaller but still very nice.

Room Tip: If you are after views to the rice fields and want to save some money, choose Double or twin room wi...

Located approximately 15 minutes drive out of Ubud, the location is still close enough to the buzz of the cultural city but far enough to feel like you are secluded in the middle of the rice-fields!

The food is outstanding whether it is room service or in the dining area which overlooks the rice-fields. The infinity pool is a huge plus point, and having an afternoon swim after a morning of cultural visits is a must! The complimentary afternoon tea is equally enjoyed next to the pool or in the dining area.

This is a perfect retreat!

We arrived at night and from our arrival our great experience started. Warm welcome at the reception, large room with a really nice decoration (we booked a bungalow), flower petals on the bathtub and a tasteful cake served in the room as we were in honeymoon. The property is nicely set up, especially the infinity pool and restaurant, both facing the ricefield. The breakfast is served a la carte (not this kind of cheap buffet) and the selection is huge, eggs, yoghurt, muesli, fruits, pancakes (my favorite by the way), homemade jam, croissant,... The food for dinner is also really good, served in a romantic atmosphere.
What made our stay really memorable is the staff. They went out of their way to make us happy and satisfied. A special thank you to Putra at the restaurant.
We will recommend to all our family and friends.

Great service, great location and scenery, awesome rooms (large, clean, modern whilst still retaining a Balinese style). The restaurant is well priced and the food is top notch. We also completed a Balinese cooking class, which was terrific. Hard to fault!!!
