“Gorgeous”

This place is sooooo lovely. The view is gorgeous, the room was super and the staff were great. Yes it's a little out of town - you can not walk in to town (it would take about 45 mins) but you can walk to some other restaurants and spas from here within 15 mins or so. A cab home from town is cheap anyway, it only takes about 7 mins. We had no trouble getting a pool spot as I think a lot of people go off walking when they come to Ubud so there's space by the pool as people are out during the day. The fresh blended juices from the restaurant were especially nice and breakfast was great too.

We stayed here for three nights for our first visit to Ubud. Thought this intimate boutique hotel was enchanting. We stayed in the double room rather than the bungalow as I had read on trip advisor the rooms had views of the rice paddies. So glad we did. A magic location with the rice paddies either side of the room. Two enormous comfortable chairs outside our room to sit and watch the farmers go about their business in the fields. It was fascinating, serene, tranquil just gorgeous. The room was lovely and was decorated in a way that fitted in with the rural setting. It was comfortable and stylish.
We ate at the Terracotta restaurant for every meal during our stay. Quite frankly we were so enraptured by the setting we really did not want to venture out into the noise and business of the town. The food was exceptional, the staff friendly, attentive and the view out over the rice fields lit up by lanterns magnificent. The breakfast included was simple, but lovely. Happy hour was also lovely with three cocktails for the price of two and beautifully made cocktails at that. Although of course not eating as cheaply as you might out on the streets for us it was great value for money compared to home with a two course meal and drinks for between $50 and $60 Aus.
We had one massage on sight which was also a beautiful experience and reasonably priced for a hotel. It was a quality massage given by a skilled masseur.
We can't wait to return and can see ourselves becoming annual visitors to this lovely place. The pool was also gorgeous overlooking the view.
Ladies you might like to bring a stronger hair dryer with you.

Room Tip: Double rooms have better views than bungalows. We were in a downstairs room and there was a little b...

It is a nice place. We slept at the more expensive rooms. The room was beautiful, no complains.
BUT , there is no view from the room. when you sit out side the room you can only see the live fence, don't expect any rice fields or pool view...
And the shuttle runs up till 5pm. If you are after dinner in the "city" you have to for taxi about $5 one way... If you stay to eat at the restaurant it's expensive ....
So you can relax by the lovely pool (no shade...) and enjoy the free afternoon tea. Breakfast is very generous ...

This may be the nicest hotel I have ever been at! The rooms, the pool, the location, the rice paddy view, the staff and the restaurant are all off the charts. This is a very special place that I feel lucky to have found.

We stayed at Kenanga for two nights and it was wonderful and peaceful start for our Bali holidays. The hotel is small, friendly, intimate and tranquil surroundings. It is located approx. 10 - 15 min. taxi drive from centre of Ubud. The breakfast was very good as well evening cocktails and snack at the bar (Terracota restaurant). Staff was friendly and helpful. Perfect place for those who like romantic and a little magic atmosphere:)

My husband and I were hoping Kenanga would live up to it's Trip Advisor status and are definitely not disappointed! The staff are friendly but non-invasive and the rooms are gently decorated and clean. We stayed in number 10 which overlooks the rice paddies which is sensational. admit to still feeling slight discomfort at the disparity of us in our lovely environment watching the local families and the back breaking slog of rice harvesting. The restaurant food is delicious and well priced! All in all we will be back for a very relaxing and unique start to our annual Bali migration!

Wow! What can I say. If you read some of my other reviews, I am a tough cookie to please - but this place really is magical. The setting alone is quite breathtaking, and with the rice fields are in a phase of growth, almost ready for harvest, so the sea of green was fabulous. The onsite restaurant was excellent. Breakfast every day was a treat , with personalised service making us feel very special. The staff were attentive, patient and efficient. The breakfast menu is al-a-carte (but included in the room rate) with some great options. It is prepared fresh, is hot and doesn't require you to shuffle a long a conga line leading to a bain marie. Tea and coffee flowed freely and endlessly. The pool area set up is great, the pool nice and deep (1.60cm) and the sun lounges comfortable. The only improvement here would be sun umbrellas which we discussed with the manager (upon asking us for feedback) on departure. There are relatively new and he advised that they are looking for the best option given the gusts of wind that can hit the pool area infrequently. The rooms are well appointed, the shampoo and body wash smell delightful and the aircon works a treat! The only two improvements on the room would be the height of the shower head and block out curtains - otherwise it was a really nice, well sized room. The location is a little out of Ubud proper, but the hotel run a shuttle on the hour from morning to early evening and taxis are about $5 AUD each way if you miss the shuttle. We liked this place so much that we thought it would make the perfect wedding and reception venue for us given the intimacy of the hotel (around 15 rooms) and by the way the place is set up and the ambience. We'll definitely return again in February.

Room Tip: Have a sunset drink on the lounges at the restaurant. Pure magic!
