“Cafe Pomegranate Ubud”
Reviewed 27 December 2013 via mobile

I arrived at Cafe Pomegranate last night because it was nearby to my accommodation. It was sensational. The service was superb and the food was delicious. I know you don't come to Bali to drink the wine, but the glass of white was OK and reasonably priced. I tried another restaurant first up tonight, but the service was very poor and the menu choice was not inspiring so I left and returned to Cafe Pomegranate and had another superb dinner with excellent service once again. As you will read in the other reviews, it is difficult to find and would be worth checking out during the day so that you know where to go during the night, or visit for lunch after a beautiful walk through the rice paddies. The only access is via motorbike or walking. Take a torch if you walk during the evening. The access is heading west on the Main Street, Jalan Raya Ubud, just as you start to leave the hectic traffic, and is to the right heading up a very scrappy, steep road that seems to lead to nowhere. You will know that you have missed the track if you end up at a dead end near a temple. Turn back and look for a grey wall on your left and there is a very narrow paved track heading up to the rice paddies. You then follow another narrow track, poorly paved and look for the large tent structure on your left, around 1 km. To make all of this easier, stay at Dragonfly Village a few doors to the south of the restaurant. It is a little paradise set amongst the rice paddies. Good luck. It really is worth the effort.

“Simply different”
Reviewed 20 December 2013

Hard to find, heading out of Ubud just before the bridge is a rocky, steep side street, no sign until you walk in a bit. You can take the motor bike in quiet comfortably.
The restaurant is not very big, set up in a kind of tent style in the middle of the rice fields.
The food was very pleasant and not over priced, the local wine is cheaper there than anywhere else we found in Ubud!
Something different to do!

“The view is just simply sublime”
Reviewed 11 December 2013

It was my first time to visit this place as recommended of my friend at work. First impression, it was hard when I know that we need to go for a walt for such 20 minutes to go this restaurant, but never get bored as the view of the green and lush rice field is just amazing. So when you walk a bit far to get this restaurant, it will worth enough.

The restaurant set is nice and good for a chill to yourself, your lover, or with your friends. The ambience is offering you a relaxation feeling - when you pick to sit in the corner side of the restaurant which is near to the rice field. Came here for a lunch, the price is is cheap and the food is average. Their balinese coffee and the panna cotta are good, plus they also have a fresh salad and fruit juice! The service is nothing special, can understand that because most of restaurant in Ubud hire local-people.

Overall, just don't expect anything when you plan to come here such as great service, table manner or great food, but the view. This place is a casual outdoor, good for chill with if you look for a different relaxation feel as the view is just simply sublime.

“Interesting experience”
Reviewed 10 December 2013

Cafe Pomegranate is set at a unique location. Because its in the middle of rice fields, Pomegranate has a wonderful view. There was not a lot of choice of dishes, but we were easy to choose some delicious food and drinks at reasonable price. Especially, i really like the fruit juices. Its so fresh and tasty. Beside that, the service was attentive and friendly. We were very sastified !
We were definitely recommend this place to everyone and we hope to go back for a dinner in sundet at here!

“A Different Dining Experience, Average Food”
Reviewed 30 November 2013

Its a different dining experience located within the rice fields in the middle of nowhere. Definitely different from the usual restaurants in cities. Approximately a 15 minutes walk to Cafe Pomegranate, from the main street. If you would like to experience a different dining experience, Cafe Promegranate can be an option, but don't expect much from the food, there's definitely more room for improvements.

I share the exact sentiments with regards to the food taste posted by my friend EdwinaChong.
