This place was amazing. Set back in a small alley it had yet to really be "discovered" but once it is everyone will be coming here to get real, authentic, one-only Balinese textiles. The owner Bekak has a passion for woven and died textiles and has an amazing store with pieces that would cost 5-10x in the USA or EU. He told me his story about starting from nothing 10 years ago and now he employs a small clan of people working in their homes across Bali making product for him. The bank just helped him build his new store, which is beautiful... All of his stuff is one of a kind, not mass produced and definitely not cheap Chinese knock off...in fact if you try to ask him for another one to match he can't get it for you because all of the pieces are made by artist at there whim in their homes... He drives around weekly and picks them up! If you are looking for real Bali art this is the place, full stop-it's weird to say a store was a highlight of our 10 year anniversary but it was...we sat down and played with his 2 year old daughter and his wife and when we left they have us free scarves as a blessing. We have been everywhere in the world and this is truly a special place with amazing patterns, ikat, pillow covers, tappestries, rugs, placemats, table runners, bed spreads and so much more. Don't even waste your time looking at other places we already did. His ikat and batik is better looking, clearly hand made, and way too reasonable on the prices. I told him he needs to raise his prices ...deep blues, indigos and so many other colors and patterns
