“Very peaceful location”
Reviewed 3 August 2013

I booked this hotel via Agoda for a couple of nights. It's right at the very bottom of Jl Bisma on the right hand side, just before the cobbled road crumbles away to mud, and access is down a short narrow access road next to a villa. There is a small car port for 2 or 3 cars, and reception is a small open air pavillion, with a staff member and a laptop. The receptionist Nuri was very friendly and explained about breakfast, the shuttle service etc, before escorting us to our room.
The hotel consists of a series of two storey blocks, the first couple of blocks obviously the original hotel overlooking a small pool and restaurant area. Next to this and up some stairs are a couple of brand new blocks with another pool.
We had a ground floor pool-view room in one of the new blocks, and the room was excellent for the price we paid, although it had only been opened a couple of weeks. The room was large and airy with a marble tiled floor, with a king size bed, fridge/mini-bar, flat screen TV with lots of channels, DVD player and a couple of DVDs. Through a door into the bathroom area was a wardrobe and safe, separate toilet, sink, bath and rainfall shower. A window separated the bathroom and bedroom, with a blind for privacy. The bed was on the firm side but okay. Sleep quality wasn't the best if I'm honest, mainly down to a constant drip-drip from somewhere inside the air-con unit, so it was a little like water torture. Other than that, it was a great room. There was a terrace outside with table/chairs and a bench seat, this overlooked the pool, then beyond that were rice fields.
Around the pools were plenty of sunbeds, with towels provided. If there weren't any towels, these could be requested from reception and delivered by hotel staff to your sunbed. Only the pool near the older blocks seemed to get the sun.
For breakfast, the night before you had to obtain a breakfast slip from reception, tick what you wanted and what time, then hand it back in. Didn't experience any delays in getting breakfast, and it was okay. Wi-fi is available around the restaurant area.
Location-wise, if you leave the hotel, turn right then head down the road, it soon crumbles into a dirt track. Follow the track and 5 mins later you're at the bottom of Monkey Forest Road just next to Kopi Bali House. Watch out for the mopeds who use this track, and bear in mind it's unlit so I personally wouldn't head down it after sunset, even with a torch. Walking up Bisma to Jl Raya, it's a good 20 min walk. There are a couple of spas, and a few restaurants. The nearest laundry is the Apel Laundry which is about a 15 min walk away. We used the hotel to get our clothes laundered and it was quite cheap.
If getting a car to the hotel, bear in mind there are two Inata hotels, this one and one on Monkey Forest Road, so make it clear it's the one on Jl Bisma.
Overall, it was a nice little hotel in a nice quiet location.

Don't be put off by the bumpy track that leads you to this gorgeous, new, small boutique hotel situated on Bisma road at the rear of the monkey forest. The location is quiet and the views are spectacular. It is but a 5 min walk via a rural track which brings you out on monkey forest road. If you are not up to walking there is free "at call" transport provided by the hotel until 10.00pm at night, finding a taxi after that hour is no problem if you like to stay out late at night. We hired a scooter for A$5 per day from the hotel which I would recommend as a quick way of getting around as traffic is quite conjested in Ubud. The hotel comprises of two levels, the upstairs rooms having the better views. The accomodation is large, light and spotlessly clean and have nice quality televisions with a vast number of foxtel channels to choose from. Daily breakfast is an Indonesian buffet with fruit, croissants, tea and coffee. If you prefer eggs and toast just ask, there is no extra cost. Whilst the hotel has a poolside bar and restaurant it is not fully operational yet. Meals are prepared off site and delivered to the hotel so expect a 20 - 30 min wait for your food, A spa and yoga centre, I am told, will soon be available at the hotel. Lastly, the staff were absolutely delightful, very respectful and eager to please. I am happy to recommend this lovely, inexpensive hotel to anyone whether you are travelling on a budget or not.

Room Tip: Upstairs rooms with a west facing aspect have the best views. A corner suite would be perfect.

Tucked away on Jl. Bisma, Inata Bisma is the best of both worlds - far away enough from the craziness of Monkey Forest Road yet still close enough to the center to enjoy a selection of attractions, restaurants, shops, spas and whatever your heart desires. A definite plus was the free shuttle service (within Ubud) they provided from 8am - 10pm - made shopping and getting around much easier.

The hotel grounds are beautiful. Both a mix of modern and traditional elements set amidst a field of rice paddies. I would recommend staying on the second floor as the view from the balcony is amazing during sunrise/sunset (and the awesome pool). The bed and pillows were amazing - slept like a baby.

The service was impeccable - some staff had a hard time speaking english but that didn't stop them from trying to serve your every need. They helped me arrange my activities, bookings, transportation, etc... and it was always "service with a smile".

You have five options during breakfast, 2 egg dishes, yogurt/musli/fruits, strawberry pancakes, and mee goreng, which was good but not great. Aside from breakfast, the hotel does not serve food. However, the owner of the hotel also owns a restaurant, The Pond, which you can order from. Hot food delivery in 15 minutes.

There's some construction going on due to the expansion of the hotel but the noise did not bother me at all - though it may be a problem for those late risers. They were holding some sort of blessing ceremony the day I left and was told that it was for the opening of the new wing of the hotel/spa which is scheduled to be fully operational by July of this year. So, I reckon this would no longer be a problem in the future.

Room Tip: If you are planning to go before they complete their expansion in July 2013, Room 202 and 203 (and t...

Nice hotel with spacious rooms and a good pool. The location is a little away from the centre of Ubud but they offer a free shuttle service until 10pm which makes getting around at night easier. The walk to the monkey forest in the day is really close just 15mins max, and there are a few restaurants further down the small road. There is currently building of another 12 rooms which did disturb the peaceful setting in the morning but this should be finished in July they advised us.

This is a very modern set-up with a beautiful rooms , great beds and lovely infinity pool. However it was the service that impressed us most. Somehow all of Ubud is so service oriented it just blows your mind. We booked for one night and stayed for 17.......Breakfast had a few choices of the obligatory egg dishes and pancakes and musli, as well as Me Goreng and loads of fruits and smoothies. It does however get a bit boring after this length of time. Suggest more vegetarian option to be available. The staff and management was simple outstanding. The location was away from the mayhem and in walking distance of everything. There is however a free shuttle to and from wherever you want to go. Thanks Barita !

A bit far from the entrance of the street, but seems like it is last but not the least. First time coming on January 2013 with my boyfriend, and it was amazing. Second time coming on last April and still, it was superb! Will come again this month and can't wait! The room is spacious, bathroom is clean, breakfast is Ok, my fav part is the mushroom. Very quite and staffs are wonderful. Free shuttle around ubud also a plus. Inata makes our day!

I've stayed at Inata Bisma twice and absolutely love it. I agree with all the positives that other reviewers list, but disagree with negative comments about location. You can turn right onto Bisma and take a back path into Monkey Forest Road - about a five minute walk. The benefit of the location is that this hotel is very quiet and peaceful, GREAT views, and the staff really is amazing. They cannot do enough to help, and always try to find a way to help you get what you want, find what you want, and fix any small problems. I just can't say enough about how good this place is - and at the moment the price is amazing - grab it while you can.

Room Tip: Upstairs rooms have great views, downstairs easy pool access
