“Amazing service in a quiet and restful setting”
Reviewed 3 April 2014

We spent one week at Inata Bisma in March 2014. Originally I had booked another hotel in central Ubud, but my husband had recently injured his ankle and there were too many stairs for him. The staff there understood that we needed easy access and we were transferred to the Inata Bisma, a bit out of town, the next day. Although the location is somewhat inconvenient, the shuttle is free to all locations in Ubud and the peaceful atmosphere was perfect for us. There is a beautiful pool, the food we had was excellent, and the staff was friendly and very helpful. Our large, comfortable room was immaculately cleaned every day and room service was efficient. I highly recommend this hotel for those who are looking for a place to relax in Ubud.

I stayed here for over two weeks in total in March 2014 using the Special Deal available at the time. I chose the upstairs room deliberately as it had an uninterrupted view over the rice fields so I woke to the splendour of luminous green each day. The room was large and comfortable as was the bathroom and both were kept sparkling clean by the young lads who seemed to do the cleaning with the young women acted as receptionists or waitresses. All the staff were welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful. They even bought me a small birthday cake for my birthday and covered the bed with petals spelling out 'Happy Birthday'!! . There is a large choice at breakfast (the Indonesian ones are far superior) which needs to be ordered the day before.
The only issue with this hotel is its location as it is at the end of a long road which leads to the town centre and requires careful navigation. There is a hotel shuttle but for some of the time I stayed this was limited due to there being only one driver. The charming sales and general managers ended up filling the gap as access to the shuttle is quite important here if you dont have your own transport. When I got a taxi from town one night the taxi driver refused to go all the way down the road saying it was too far and too bumpy! This is the disadvantage of being in such a peaceful, unbuilt up area so you need to decide your priorities. You can also walk quite quickly to Monkey Forest Road but the path is very stony and muddy after rain and there is no lighting after dark.
Inata Bisma was the best place I stayed in my 6 weeks in Ubud and I would heartily recommend it.

Room Tip: The upper floor has the best views of the rice fields

this is my second review for inata and my 4th time staying here. cant say enough positive about this place. like the warmthness of the staffs, the environment, the rooms, the service... everything was perfect. just like put names out here like dybia who no longer works here and also raini who gave us a really good price during our 5th visit. it was all perfect. free transport out, clean large rooms, beautiful pools, yummy breakfast. what more can we ask for! i love you inata bisma i dont think ill ever consider staying elsewhere anymore!

This is on the road parallel to the Monkey Forest Rd, but you could be a million miles away it is so quiet and peaceful. There is a short walk down to the Monkey Forest or they have a hotel shuttle service, we often walked it as it was lovely to walk down the road and not feel like you were in Ubud hustle and bustle.
We had a room overlooking the paddy fields which was first class, although no balcony which would have been nice.
Swimming pools are great, grounds are beautiful, staff all really helpful.
Just a note in case you like to eat in your hotel, there is very limited restaurant service but this didn't matter to us as we ate out most nights.

Room Tip: Rooms in new blocks are very nice, rooms overlooking pool in new block have balconies, rooms overloo...

Reading the opinions on hotels in Bali, one generally reads jubilating opinions and yet some desastrious comments on the same hotel. How come ? This may be so, I feel, because hotels in Bali have all an excellent price/quality cuotation compared to hotels in the EU, USA and Australia. For 10 $ you get in Bali a much better deal than on the continents, and this leads easily to over-enthousiasme. However, for making a good choice in Bali , you have to compare the hotels within Bali itself , not with those in the USA etc.Having spent now some 12 times the european winter time in Bali, we may be in a somewhat better position to compare a Bali hotel with other Bali hotels. For instance:
Re the INATA BISMA, we must confirm the bad score mentioned by Alexandra T ( on 11.8.13 : Décevant) and Le Persen ( on 1.9.13: Buona struttura ----). We add to this:
- it is too fara walking distance ( 20 min ) to town center; however, their free transport service functions well.
- the rooms and balconies are spacious and clean,
- the sunbeds near the swimmingpools have no shadow at all , there are no umbrellas.

-Our daughter booked from 23 dec to 30 dec for a price of 60 €/night. She saw a shield in the entrance of INATA, mentioning “ 40% discount in december “, and of course asked to apply that reduction. The answer was, that the shield was only for “passengers”, but if she insisted she could receive the reduction, but only after the price should be doubled.
-After three days she decided to leave . Checking out at 11 o´clock ( so before the official check out time of 12:00) the reception tried to charge her 60 € extra for “ a last minute check out “ . She refused, of course, and went to a near hotel : half the price, good room, better service, nearer to towncenter . There are several on the Jalan Bisma close to the Jalan Raya ( main street ) e.g. Samas Cottages.

After a disastrous start in ubud at another hotel we checked out early and picked up a last minute booking at Inata Bisma. So glad we did. There place is gorgeous. Our room had panoramic views of rice paddies in two directions and it was huge, new and luxurious. The staff were amazing! The pick up and drop off service around ubud was brilliant. Breakfast was good although a bit slow at times. This is a great find and a great hotel. We will be back. My only criticism is that they need some sun umbrellas around the new pool, oh and a longer shower curtain so the bathroom doesn't flood when you shower. Thank you Inata Bisma staff for making our Ubud stay wonderful !!!

We stayed at the Inata for two nights. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. The room was very spacious with firm mattress and a bathtub. The location is away from the main streets but it is only 5 minutes walk from the monkey forest, going on small paths unusable by cars. The hotel has a shuttle for their guests going all day and is just a call away which is helpful to avoid the dodgy taxi drivers from central Ubud.
Place is clean and very agreeable. The local food is very nice but not too much the western food.
Great staff, great place, highly recommended for people who want nice and quiet, clean and comfortable.
