It may be difficult to get an appointment with Pak Ketut himself, as he may be booked 3 months in advance or may be travelling. I would advise you have some really relaxing massages before you ask for him. He does not use scented lotions or oils, he is triple the price, and during the hour you are on his table you may ask him to quit earlier! But if you can persevere, you will get off that table healthier than you got on, aches and pains gone or greatly diminished ... glowing. He is unique in Bali and your health will SO improve.

Hello all.
Ubud Body Works is hands down the bst in Ubud. the practitioners are very well trained and you will get a fantastic treatment. yes, its slightly more than some unlicensed places around but if you know what a quality massage is, it is provided at UBW. Cheaper places can be unclean and have poorly trained people that can injure you.
if you want a healer, Pak Artana is amazing but its hard to get an appointment and its expensive. he is good but there are great other options as well.
This is a subject dear to my heart and I have researched it quite a bit. I have had some amazing, mind blowing, super healing experiences and some rather traumatic episodes as well. the key is to find the right guide as if you are unfortunate enough to find yourself in the hands of someone with less that good intentions, it can be very bad and even dangerous. the recognized experts and best people I have found to lead one on a journey like this is Floating Leaf Eco Retreat. This blog post says it all http://balifloatingleaf.com/bali-healers-tour/

Be safe whatever you choose as this can be a life changing event, very powerful and beautiful.
If you just want a massage UBW is the place. if you want a spiritual healing ask Floating Leaf
Hope this helps you!

Massage was rushed, unprofessionnal, service was terrible and the room itself is nothing special. We decided to go to Bodyworks based on friend's recommendations, but with so many better and cheaper options in Ubud we will not return to Bodyworks.

My husband and I have been coming to Bali for 14 years, and during this time I've had many massages at Ubud Bodyworks and seen the compound grow into an empire. The experience is always excellent and authentic. The therapists really get down to business on breaking up scar tissue in your muscles and fascia and squeezing out the lymphatic system, a process I would not call exactly relaxing but definitely mind altering!
When we visited this year, the atmosphere of the compound was dreamy and serene. Our treatment room was very nice and clean, 4 levels up with a gorgeous view. Our therapists were extremely professional and polite, with strong precise hands like surgeons. After the massage we drifted in a dream state down shopping row on Hanoman street, buying way too many beautiful trippy clothes we'll never wear outside of Bali.
