If I had to sum up this place in one word it would be: paradise!
You get the best view over River Ayung- even whilst relaxing in the infinity pool. Besides that the accommodation facilities are obviously beautiful.
The staff is very friendly and prepares amazing food.
I can only recommend you to stay here!

“Paradise retreat with access to the best of Ubud”

My wife and I have been to Bali a few times before. This time we wanted to find a beautiful setting from which to spend a few days in the middle of our couple weeks’ holiday in Indonesia where we could be inspired to get some writing done. We found exactly that in Villa Dhyan. Stunningly beautiful, very friendly staff, clean and accessible.

We particularly loved sitting in the various different vistas reading or with our laptops open calmly progressing through manuscript development. I loved seeing the bright birds fly through the valley below and once a monkey came by for a visit. A few times a day, you can hear gamelan echoing through the valley (probably from the Four Seasons resort that you can see to the south). To me this provided the perfect background noise, complementing the birds' songs and reminding me where we were, without being overwhelming or distracting. A few times a day, whitewater rafters pass down the river. Their laughter is fun, but, again, not loud enough to be disturbing.

We didn't leave the villa much during our stay, but there are a few small shops for essentials within a 5 min walk and we did walk to the edge of Ubud town passing both tourist cafes and cheap warung. It’s probably about a 45 min walk to the center of Ubud if you want to go that far. We did once. The drivers we used for the transfer were really nice and I'm sure they'd be great too, although we only used him for the transfers. As others have said, the cooks are excellent and unlike other villas they did not mark up the price of the food.

Finally, I have to mention the fantastic communications with the owners prior to and during the stay.

One of my friends, an American living in Bali, joined us one night and took some 360 photos. I've attached them and hope they work on Trip Advisor.

One note: You are not booking the entire villa comprised of 3 1 bedroom houses, but just the rooms you need. The owners tell me there are rarely, multiple parties staying at once, but if this is an issue for you, I recommend you discuss with them at the time of booking.

“Perfect - simply perfect!”

Overlooking the valley and the Agung River, the view is simply stunning. The quiet location is a complete haven from Ubud; only ten minutes away by car. The sounds of children laughing and playing in the river in the late afternoon, or watching the thunderclouds sweep across the sky, the local farmers working in the fields below was just beautiful. You could just sit and drink it all in. Instantly felt relaxed! The food was amazing; we did not go out to dinner once in our whole stay as Lastri's cooking was so very, very good and the privacy of our mountain perch made any restaurant feel like second best! We loved to sit in the evening and listen to the sounds of Gamelan drift across the valley. On our arrival, our adult children who were meeting us had their plane delayed by six hours; we had dinner without them and asked if some food could be put away for them and we would warm it up! When they arrived, very late, Lastri and Puk Chandra were there to greet them, served them a delicious hot dinner and carried their luggage. We could not believe it! Nothing was too much trouble! When we left, we felt Weni, Lastri and Puk Chandra were family. It was simply perfect and we felt truly a part of Ubud life; we will definitely return and until then, dream of being there!

On being delayed by the ash cloud we arrived at midnight expecting a very closed villa, instead we were greeted with open arms and the world seemed a better place all of a sudden. The staff are just amazing and the food was wonderful. Waking up to the view of the valley and the wonderful garden and villa was quite breathtaking. We miss you Villa Dyhan and will be back soon for a much longer stay, thank you, thank you, thank you for allowing us to stay in your little part of paradise. Bill, Duncan and Judy

“Almost perfect, a beautiful property”

We loved staying at Villa Dhyan. The staff were amazing and fussed over a 7 month infant in our group. This is an eclectic property and so stylish. We loved they way they handled the menu, giving us Indonesian and Bali recipe books to choose from. Everything they prepared for us was perfect and nothing was too much trouble. A water pump in the vicinity of the villa went out on our first day and we didn't have water in our rooms. The staff provided water containers for each room and the owner phoned (from overseas) to apologise. Very impressive. Our group thought this is a four star property in terms of facilities but a five star property in terms of customer service. The owners and staff certainly know how to make their guests feel welcome.

“Picturesque & Serene with an amazing staff, probably the best in Ubud!”

Villa Dhyan is such an awesome place to spend your time when visiting Ubud. A jaw dropping view and a friendly / efficient staff welcome you to the Villa which is beautifully done, well maintained and has an excellent cook to serve you some delicious meals. The main Ubud market is about a 25 minute walk from the villa; though there are local shops and eateries around 5 minutes away. It has 3 beautiful rooms with views to die for.
Sachiko helped answer all our questions well before we got to Bali was instrumental in providing relevant information and ensuring we had a good time in Ubud, thank you Sachiko!

Excellent value for money, though, the villa is not apt for families with little children as the living room has a drop and it can be difficult task to monitor kids while they play.

Wow! What a hide away and what a wonderful holiday I had in in Villa Dhyan!
This hidden paradise was extremely well maintained and looked after by friendly staff members. They really take care of you! Airport transport was easily arranged by contacting the villa. Excitement of Ubud town is 5-10min away by taxi for around A$5 so its easy. Sitting in the lounge and watching the sun set by myself was indeed something very special.
I would also recommend this villa to couples and families.
