Mawa house is an excitante experience in a Balinese way of life. The staff are great and they will do what ever you need to be happy. Take a time and enjoy this place and explore the Ubud village a nice place to do shopping and good food.

We stayed for 3 nights in Mawa house and we loved it!
The hotel is located 2mins away from the Monkey Forest and in a very quiet spot. The staff and ambience were great...we couldn't have asked for more!
Highly recommended.

I stayed at Mawa house for the whole time I was in Bali which was 10 days. It was the perfect place to just rest and relax. Being away from the centre of Ubud, it was very quiet. And yet it was in easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. Mawa house is a very small hotel having only eight rooms which is just perfect. I had a lovely room right in front if the pool, so I could virtually just step down into it, but all the rooms are lovely.

The staff are wonderful and very friendly and I was told they regarded guests whilst there, as part of the family and it certainly felt like that. They were also incredibly helpful, and just so very gentle and lovely.

A wonderful surprise occurred in the third day I was there - air conditioning was put into my room and three others. This made my experience there absolutely perfect especially since a heat wave followed and coming home from town feeling and no doubt looking like a wilted flower, I could just turn it on for five minutes and everything was cool. The other rooms will get air conditioning shortly, they just have to make sure their wiring will cope first.

I did think of going to Sanur for a couple of days toward the end of my trip but looking at other places on the net, nothing quite compared to the luxury I felt at Mawa. I settled for a couple of trips from Ubud instead.

Thanks so much to the Mawa family!

Room Tip: I don't know much about the other rooms. I liked mine which was next to the pool. There were...

Ok, Ubud is busy, we all know that, so it can be a real challenge to find somewhere that is not too touristy ( I know- what a cliche) but Mawa house is the place. A small guest house - maybe 8 rooms all overlooking a pool and gardens, with excellent service, lovely surroundings and a very comfortable room. We arrived and were welcomed with friendly staff. I wanted to take a Batik class which was quickly arranged, and nothing was too much trouble. The room was beautiful, with fresh flowers, and very comfortable bed with mosquito nets. The street is behind the monkey forest so is not touristy, but you can still get to all the sights quickly. Would absolutely stay here again. Wonderful !

We had a fantastic2 nights stay at Mawa House. From the arrival until the departure.
Our host 'Ngurah' is THE person you'd like to have around. He was very friendly, polite, funny, helpful and a typical Balinese. He really made us want to extend our stay. He gave good recommendation on what to and not to do, while not being pushy or trying to upsell some touristic tours.
Mawa House, is a well located balinese guest house. Only 5min walk from the Monkey Forest road, and 10min walk from the market, temples, shopping area. It's in a quiet street, hence you will not be disturbed by noisy cars or motorbikes passing by at night. Besides, Mawa House can arrange some scooters for you at IDR 50k per day.
The room was very cleaned and equipped with fans. I have to admit that it was very chilled and didn't any A/C (i stayed on Sept 28-30th)
The pool is nice as well but we didn't use it much as we were out all day long.
The breakfast is filling but just ask the chef to keep the pancakes on the heat a bit longer.... Apart from that, everything was great.
And not to forget that it is an excellent value for money!!!

Room Tip: Ask for room 7 if you want more privacy (ground level). the other rooms are great as well but right...

We had 4 nights here and its was great. Very Balinees and a peacefull place just 5/10 minutes walk from monkeyforest Rd. But longer walk to the center. I recommend renting a mototbike here for only 50.000 IDR. Nice english speaking staff, although the checkout was a bit weird because the night before and early morning there was no one only the breakfastboy that couldn't speak english so well. But nevertheless, i definetely recommond this place. They helped us a lot for a roadtrip by motorbike. It's just lovely and the room is awesome, best ever!
