“california has a slice of heaven in bali”

Four of us stopped enroute to the Monkey Forest for lunch. We were greeted by a gracious and beautiful host, seated and given menus. We had a choice of trekking or eating....and we chose eating. The meals were delivered quickly and the presentation artistically done. We had Chicken Satay with the best peanut sauce and our adult children had Coconut chicken and tuna. We were all so pleased with our meals. Wish we stopped on the way back for dinner. We loved the people; the restaurant; the view and the prices were excellent.

“Lunch in Nature”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 June 2014

North of Ubud, the setting is lovely, overlooking a ravine - well out of the usual Bali street atmosphere.
Well presented food and the sauces were the best that we had whilst in Bali - tapered to western taste - staffed by "locals" (with adequate English). The satay's were a bit dry due to the small pieces used.
It is an open restaurant, under a thatched roof. Bali mats on the table.
It is a long way to travel, but a worthwhile day out from the usual Bali coastal areas.
Not expensive. Recommend.

“Excellent service, food, drinks and setting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 May 2014

I loved everything about this place, one if not the best restaurant I have been in Indonesia when you consider all its has to offer. Five star service, location and food. The drink choices are perfect, I tried their ginger house drink, it was the best I had. Pricier than other places, but worth every penny.

“Gorgeous setting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 May 2014

Went here after a massive shopping expedition to Tegalang on TA reviews. Was a great place for lunch, lovely atmosphere serene surroundings. No wouldn't,t say it's the best meal we have had whilst in Ubud as it is a Balinese for westerners kind of fare, but well worth the trip.

Very atmospheric setting and the food was splendid. Fondly remembered as the best traditional Indonesian food on our trip to Bali.
