“Pertiwi to Access Heart of Ubud”
Reviewed 22 March 2014

If you want a place that provides great access to the heart of Ubud,is within walking distance of the Royal Palace and Monkey Forest, stay at Pertiwi. In addition, quick access to good restaurants and live music with a leisurely stroll in bustling Ubud. After dealing with the hustling market, you can return to your room in Pertiwi located in the midst of relaxing gardens. Pleasant and calming views from rooms and balconies. I definitely will return to Pertiwi.

This was my second stay at Pertiwi, this time with another group of friends. They all had the more expensive new or renovated rooms but I reckon my room was better value. Room 306 overlooked the rear pool & gardens & my balcony was the choice for evening drinks. Their rooms had view across garden/lawn to other rooms. Rooms are fitted with large beds, a/c, fridge, 2bottles of water supplied each day & the only draw back was a very old TV (for those that turn them on). There are plenty of renovations going on at present so in time these older rooms may get a face lift (new TV) but other than that they are fine. Staff throughout the hotel are very pleasant, helpful & welcoming. Breakfast provided was of a high stranded & plenty to choose from. A 2nd pool is located at the restaurant for the rooms closer to the front. Location couldn't be better being in the middle of monkey forest road. There are plenty of more expensive hotels nearby but Pertiwi offers value for money with very restful surroundings.

We just completed a four night stay at the Pertiwi. Our room was spotless and the friendly staff did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. The location is perfect....it is possible to walk to most of the Ubud attractions.

The location of the hotel is great and the grounds are beautiful.
I found the breakfast was a simple selection, remember its not a 5 star hotel.
The 2 pools were great for relaxing and the staff are amazing.
They are stripping the buildings and completely refurbishing them from the shell so the will be great when finished.
My room was fine. Air con and a clean place to sleep.
If you come here expecting a 5 star hotel which I think other have then you will be disappointed. If you expect a great little 3 star with great staff then you'll have a great time.

I was a bit disappointed with Pertiwi. The rooms are well set out in beautiful gardens and there are new ones being built and others being refurbished but unfortunately, the ones my daughter and I were given were very much in need of updating. The walls needed painting, the sheets were stained, there were rust marks in the bath and around the hand basin and the toilet had not been cemented in, so it moved around while I was seated! You have to get up fairly early to find a free table at breakfast and the buffet was ordinary. On the other hand, the rooms were large and airy, the staff were nice and friendly, the rates were reasonable, the pool at the rear of the resort was lovely to swim in and I had it all to myself, and the hotel is very centrally located. We appreciated the complimentary umbrellas in the rooms, as it rained pretty much non stop while we were there. The room we were given for a late check out was much nicer - if I stayed there again, I'd opt for the rooms closest to reception.

Rooms ok but all a bit tired. Breakfast pretty poor: no muesli, no toaster, cold scrambled eggs, cold bacon and apathetic staff. Back pool divine but no service up there if you want a drink by the pool. If you're looking for convenience over style then this hotel might suit you.
