This was our second stay. We love this place so much. Our room overlooked the rice paddies and each morning we watched the sun come up and the duck tenders get their ducks in a row in the rice field.. The room was very clean and well decorated. We had air-conditioning and being from Colorado we really appreciated it. The breakfast is fantastic and served on our balcony . The employees have become friends. We will be back. Alam Jiwa is beautiful!! I would rate it up there with Dynasty Resort but half the price!!! A little hard to find at first, tho that adds to the feel of the place once your there, as its tucked away and so beautiful!!! From the flower decorations to the detail in the stone pathways...With only 11 rooms the staff arattentive to every need and very friendly. We travelled with our 2 children 2years and 4years, as well as with another couple who had a 4 year old, the kids loved their stay as much as we did! The staff are very friendly and interacted with the kids which gave the place that little bit extra warm feeling! The rooms are gorgeous and yes like other reviews have mentioned mozzies but the staff light mozzie coils and put them out in and around your room every evening and we did not notice the mozzies when in our rooms of an evening! We had aircon in our room Our friends didnt have aircon in their room, tho they said the fan was enough to keep them cool at night!! Alam Jiwa has top staff who would bend over backwards if you asked them to! They have the free drive who will drop you off and pick you up when requested or the walk through the monkey park to town is about 20minutes! We also hired scooter from up the road from the hotel for a very good rate and that added to our Ubud experience! W had a late flight out and the staff were more then happy to hold our bags and let us shower and change befor taking us to the airport! Alam Jiwa is definitely a hotel I would reccomend to friends and family with or without children as its beautiful affordable and the staff are wonderful we are planning our next trip back already and we've only just left!!!

Stayed 5 nights at the start of our trip round Bali. The rooms are beautiful and in the traditional Balinese style, ours overlooking the paddy fields with a view to mt Batur when the clouds cleared. We enjoyed watching the ducks in the paddy field from our balcony. The staff at Alam Jiwa were very friendly and could not be more helpful and chatty. We appreciated the free pick-up and drop off service makes exploring Ubud so easy. Breakfast in our room each day kept us full until the complimentary afternoon tea. Great pool and grounds all added to the peace and tranquility away from the hectic centre of Ubud. The walk into the town is also fantastic, making friends with the monkeys on the way!

What a wonderful find Alam Jiwa is! Have just returned from second trip to Bali. This time we decided to spend part of our time up in Ubud and booked in at Alam Juwa. The accommodations were fantastic and the staff was wonderful. The place is small, only 10 suites, so the staff is very attentive and accommodating.. It is a 15 to 20 minute walk to central Ubud, which is fine during the day..a little scary after dark. However, a driver will take you downtown and pick you up when you are ready to return. We had a fabulous breakfast delivered to our room every morning and the dining facility associated with the Alam properties is an excellent place for dinner...the food was outstanding. The only draw back to this place is that the pool is small. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Bali. We loved it.

We stayed in the Angsa room... It overlooked a rice paddy and was absolutely beautiful!! The hotel is gorgeous with traditional Balinese art and stone statues. Everyday we woke up to a delicious breakfast served overlooking the rice paddy! It was amazing!! The staff were so lovely and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend and want to come back soon or stay at one of their related Ubud hotels (like Alam Indya)

This is our first destination of Ubud and also our first hotel that we had visited. Although it was raining that day, this hotel still helped us forget how tired we were when we arrived there. To be honest, it is not easy to find especially for the new visitor. However, the peaceful environment and unique rise view will definitely let you think your choice is correct and smart. Balinese afternoon tea and optional breakfast let us feel the price is reasonable. The room is simply but comfortable. Staff here is very friendly and helpful. Their English is really good and clear which is similar to English Royal Butler:) Their swimming pool is not too big but very clean. (the water is not very warm).
We spent one night here but have to say that is not enough!!

This place is fabulous and yes I would stay again. The rooms have great character and the gardens provide a wonderful atmosphere. The breakfast really is very outstanding. The staff are happy to take you in and out of town at any time - they are just a phone call away and greet your request with a genuine smile. Alam Jiwa is about a 5-10 minute drive from what would be called the central areas of town. I loved staying out of town - felt as though I had my own patch of private exclusive paradise. Especially as getting into town was so incredibly easy. The only negative, no air conditioning. We kept the windows closed at night as we were worried about the mosquitoes but that meant we felt hot - yep not just warm but rather hot. We stayed in September. Not sure what the other months are like. All in all, a wonderful experience and would recommend to others (after disclosing the lack of air cond)
