We, a family of 4, loved our stay at Kayumanis. Enjoyed everything about the place, most of all the caring and pleasant staff. The rooms were great and so was the spa. The kids enjoyed the pool and the excellent food. Access to internet was a huge plus. Hope to come back here in the future!

Three years ago we stayed a week at Kayumanis The Gangsa in Sanur. We made a short visit to Kayumanis Ubud and decided to come back so we booked four nights in March.
Unfortunatly we are a bit disappointed.
Yes it is one of the most beautiful places you can imagine, the pool, the bridge over a ravine and the view over the river and forest. The staff is very friendly. The villa pool beautiful and the breakfast very delicious but...
As it is very expansive you could expect more.
The staff speaks poor English.. Exept the driver Eric who picked us up and drove us to the airport. He spook good English and told us a lot about Bali and its history.
The villa was torn, the bathroom telephone was hanging on a nail, we asked them to defrost the refrigator ( very, very much ice) but they never did that. The board beside the pool was cracked with nails standing up There were broken lamps in the garden. The switchers were well hidden so we had to phone several times to find the lights.
On the website it is said that return airport transfers is included but when we arranged the time for that they wanted 25 US§. We had a confirmation so they changed their mind.
We took one tour that cost 190 US§ + taxes. Don't do that!!! The driver hardly understood what we were saying, he didn't tell us anything during the trip and besides that he had a cold and was sniffing all the time. Even though you pay so much we had to pay extra for entrances.
Before we left Sweden we had an e-mail about our preferences but they were never met. They asked about food, music and paper.
We don't regret our stay because we have dreamed about it for three years bud we will not come back.

Set on top of a section of cliff overlooking Ayung river, the series of private villas are a very good sized compund with our own Bale Bengong - outdoor seating, meal area and small kitchen. It has its own outdoor shower, pool, bath tub surrounded by fish pond and those gorgeous water lilies.
Breakfast delivered to our compound made us sick due to my inability to say no to the sheer number of food on offer, the Kayu Manis Toast is memorable as was the traditional mie goreng. This is on top of fresh fruit and cookies they replenished daily.
Location is a tad away from city centre, while the transport is always ready and provided to and from.
Main pool and massage cabbanas - more like pavilions, are accross the river, bridged beautifully, where in the morning half of the day, you can see water rafting activities.

I did not want to leave! Set in rural Ubud, in the middle of a forest, staying at Kayumanis was an experience of a lifetime. Words cannot do justice to this little paradise. It is something one must experience to understand the beauty that is Kayumanis Ubud.

Excellent environment. It's remote, so that you can get Closer to natural.
The only negative thing is there are quite a lot small animal..but remember you are in the jungle, so you need to accept.
The spa is great, the best in my life.
Food is good, though a bit pricy
