A little gem with new, clean rooms and great staff. The location is good, it's not right in the action so you get a sense of village life but is only short walk to the monkey forest road. We watched with delight as an old man herded his ducks in the rice field next door. We stayed in the unit above the reception, it gave a nice view of the paddies although there are two others near the infinity pool, which was clean and refreshing. The staff were so helpful, trustworthy and attentive to detail plus the breakfast was good too. Highly recommended for a stay of any length in Ubud.

We had such a lovely stay at Kama Bisma...all the staff were so accommodating, friendly, trustworthy, and happy to help us with phone calls to other places, activities etc.
Total bonus how quiet the rooms are, there are no roosters! Only cute little ducks in the rice paddies outside...
Bring a torch so you can walk home the back streets easily, feels safe and fine though.
There is a shortcut to Monkey Forest road through the resort next door which brings you out next to cafe Wayan ( sooooo good!) owned by the same people as Kama Bisma.
Would totally recommend this place.
And great breakfast and afternoon tea too, included in price. And a pool. We had the Krisna room, with a beautiful garden out front, and the most private of the rooms...loved it!
Only downside was that our king bed was 2 doubles pushed together, so there was a line in the bed.

Great little spot - new rooms built on the rice paddies on Jl Bisma. Wonderful attentive staff make the difference here. Walking distance to Jl Raya or through a back alley 10 mins walk puts you in front of the Monkey Forest. The perfect value experience means cheap rooms, great infinity pool and a huge breakfast + afternoon tea all included. We stayed in Anjali room - huge comfy bed with panoramic views up on the 2nd floor. Lots of frogs, ducks and rice paddies. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: Anjali Room - this room is 2nd floor of the building closest to the road. No traffic noise to speak of. Cheapest room I think but we could not find a fault.

Where to begin....after staying in Komeneka's for the last 3 trips went on a bit more of a budget trip this year. Whilst the $$$ value was a marked reduction $250 approx down to $80 by NO means was the service, rooms or location. We loved being on Jl. Bisma and whilst a bit of a walk it wasn't a problem.Staff arranged transport (comp) when we wanted (even on the back or their motorbikes !) The walk back was pleasant & only needed a torch .As it has only 3 rooms we couldn't get 10 nights in 1 room.So we stayed 2 in rice field room Anjali approx $50 then 1 night in Alam Indah (another hotel owned by the same family). Then 7 nights in Deluxe Radha room. Both rooms were great & although my only criticism of the Anjali room was no fridge Meta assures me there will be 1 in that room soon. Staff treat you like family, nothing is too much trouble, a bit of a cliche but true. Great breakfast & afternoon tea included.Being a small complex made us feel all that much more spoilt. Will return again & know as more people find out about this place the earlier I will have to book! lol

Room Tip: Radha on top floor my favorite as long as you don't mind a flight of stairs

4.5 Stars. A friend of a friend recommended this place, and it was a fantastic choice. Three of us stayed in the Krisna room, which was massive. The sunlight streaming in from the wide windows was a beautiful way to greet the morning, and the open-air shower was a pleasant luxury. Breakfast was filling and delicious.

But what makes Kama Bisma special is the staff. Every single member of the staff is incredibly nice and helpful; always ready with a smile and a greeting. Since there are only three rooms, the staff is able to dedicate time and attention to guests.

The only drawback (for me) of staying here is that you can't really walk back from town in the evenings. I wanted to stay someplace where we wouldn't have to rely on shuttles and taxis to get in and out of the center of town. And while it's a pretty convenient walk to Monkey Forest Road during the day, Jalan Bisma is a bit too dark and unpaved to walk at night. The road is developing though, so I imagine this issue will probably be resolved in the near future.
