My partner and I stayed for 2 nights recently. My word, the stay was nothing short of amazing and when it was time to depart for home, we somehow wished we had booked a longer stay. We were promptly received by the hotel driver upon arrival and whisked off to a very memorable holiday. The staff's attention to detail is pretty impressive as many of them acknowledged us by our names. We occupied the relatively new pool villa and the moment we entered, it certainly took our breaths away. It is tastefully done and very spacious for just the 2 of us. The 4 poster bed blended in effortlessly with the rest of the classy modern furniture while the outdoor gazebo displayed thoughtfulness to provide shelter for the immense glare from the Balinese sun. Small details like the free usage of the Nespresso machine (capsules provided) as well as room maintenance twice daily scored a few additional points in the untidy travellers in us. Words can't do the place enough justice and only seeing will be believing. Despite being away from the town centre, food choices are hardly an issue - the newly opened Uma Cucina serves delicious Italian cuisine while Kemiri provides a very good selection for breakfast each morning. For people who need to get out of the Resort, the famous Naughty Nuri's is just 2 minutes walk away.
The Resort has a schedule of activities to keep its occupants busy. We enjoyed the morning walk in the padi fields while we understand yoga classes and other engaging activities are available. Our time this time was a wee bit short but we will certainly try them next time round! Oh yes, the Resort organises shuttle service to its sister property, Como Shambhala Estate (15 minutes away) every Sunday for brunch at its Glow Restaurant. Who says delicious food can't be healthy? For the health-conscious, do take time to hop on the shuttle if you happen to be there on a Sunday!

Thank you Uma! We will definitely be back!

Dear Kelvincg,

THANK YOU...

It is indeed a delight hosting you at Uma and my pleasure to have few occassions to meet with you sharing out Uma, Ubud and Bali.

You described our Pool Villa beautifully which I am sure will inspire other travellers to try. I am glad that you enjoyed our cuisine, especially our Uma Cucina, our activities and I am particularly grateful that our team are able to provide you services with high attention to details.

I agree with you, with ranges of activities we could offer and various interesting places to explore, 2 days will not be sufficient, hence please stay longer next time.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Uma very soon.

Kind regards,

Suteja

I mean, we keep coming back to this AMAZING COMO PROPERTY, simply because we are addicted to the resort, and the amazing UMA STAFF!!! YOU ARE THE BEST!!

UMA had added new rooms and suites to it's room listing and we were asked to try a Pool Suite! Wow that was simply divine, we hardly wanted to leave the resort. From the lazy mornings on the deck overlooking the valley below, until nightfall, the UMA Pool Suite is a great place to stay. I finally got around to reading my favorite new book, and room service was impeccable, all we could want for!!

We tried the new Italian Restaurant UMA Cucina and had some great dishes there, an authentic Burrata and many many others I'm sorry I can't remember at the moment, and to our big surprise, the staff had remembered we simply LOVE the Chocolate Fondant with hot chocolate oozing from a warm chocolate cake, oh wow, we had this two times and it's the best we ever had!!

Kemiri at UMA remains my all time favorite breakfast place with fantastic and healthy breakfast dishes either from the newly added buffet, or from the a la carte menu. I do hope in time Kemiri will once again re-open also for dinner again, since we loved that so much, long dinners with only the sounds of crickets in the background!

A special thanks goes out to Gede Suteja and really ALL STAFF AT UMA, for making this trip full of good memories for us, and I keep saying it, we'll be back very soon !! Thank you!

Room Tip: If your budget allows, try a pool suite ....... amazing !!!!

We stayed in a brand new pool suite, which was beautifully decorated with a pleasant green outlook. I preferred lazing around the main pool, but my husband always enjoys stepping out of a room straight into a small enclosed pool. The staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful and interested. The hotel itself was quiet, but one felt it would always have the feeling of tranquillity and discretion about it. The guided walks were interesting, and the yoga with Budi was well done and relaxed. The hotel is well situated for eating nearby, and is a quick taxi ride from the centre of town. It had the best breakfast menu ever encountered by us, and all drinks an additional food were excellent. It was the most beautifully relaxing holiday we have had, and we can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: brand new pool suite was excellent.

We stayed at Uma by Como in Ubud for a short holiday recently and had the most amazing time. The hotel is outstanding; set in beautifully maintained gardens and our pool suite was excellent with plenty of space, very clean, very comfy beds and a great outdoor shower! The staff and service were absolutely wonderful; they were so kind and friendly and couldn't have done more for us especially with our eleven month old daughter who was treated like royalty, with everyone knowing her name! The care and attention to detail is evident everywhere from the cool flannels and water in the hotel car which picked us up from the airport with babyseat to the delicious food (for baby and us) and guest services. We had a massage which was the best I've ever had, the complimentary yoga overlooking the the fields was superb and the hotel taxi too and from Ubud made life so easy. We honestly have not had a better holiday and can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: Not sure a bad room exists there!

Lovely hotel with beautifully designed gardens and interiors. Nicely located away from town center where you can feel more connected to nature and away from the sound of car engines. Friendly, super nice and helpful staff members. Visitors would love the breakfast menu selection. The bar has a wide variety of cocktails but I was hooked on their amazing hot ginger tea. One other thing that makes this hotel so special is the comfort level of the bed, bed linens and towels.

The only thing missing is the view of rice fields some other hotels have. But the gardens are so beautifully done it is so enjoyable to watch their highly skilled gardeners work on trees and shrubs everyday. They should run a course on that.

I'll definitely come back here again with my friends and families.

Improvement can be made on:

1. offering more local Balinese treats like cakes and sweets

2. Real Balinese food more than just fusion food

3. Less hard sell and mark up on transportation. You get constantly reminded that your taxi cost will have x% service and x% tax on top of a ridiculous charge (in comparison to local price). I called about my room's WIFI failing and all I got from the receptionist is to remind me about booking airport transfer with the hotel directly to avoid accident/ lost of baggage.

The resort is perfectly located 2km out of bustling Ubud, far enough to provide a peaceful retreat but close enough to go in and out easily several times each day. The grounds of the resort are private beautifully maintained, with no sense that there's anything else around.
Staff are top notch ~ caring & smart which really made our stay very easy. Food ~ why bother going out when it's so delicious and relaxing 'at home'. We tried several highly rated restaurants, but finally gave in to the value and quality offered at the hotel. When traveling we rarely take our meals in the hotel, but at Uma, the food was so well priced and delicious it seemed only natural to stay at the hotel. Even the complimentary breakfast was cooked to order and presented with care and style.
Daily life centers around the Pool area; a dreamy spot to while away the afternoon. Fresh water and offers of lunch or drinks appear just when you need them. The hotel also offers daily walks (through local rice fields etc.) yoga.... and complimentary transport into Ubud.
Only downside we could find was a limited selection of wines and high prices.

We had two objectives during our 6 night say ~ relax & unwind and explore the area & its people. Both objectives were well achieved. We look forward to our next visit and would not consider staying anywhere else.

We stayed for two nights after arriving form Nusa Dua, it is one of those hotels were every detail is planned. The tours recommended by the hotel show a high degree of professionalism and planning. If travelling again to Ubud this would be definitely my choice.. the only recommendation would be to improve the heating in the private pools in the villas.. other than that perfect.
