We have stayed in some lovely hotels - gleneagles, four season sayan etc, but this was the best. Service, food and facilities were fantastic (especially with new head chef). It was lovely only being one of twenty villas. Very intimate but warm and charming as well.

We went with our two children aged 6 and 8. We had a spa vila with beautiful day beds for the kids. Villa was huge with lovely bath and shower in the open. . Pool and spa fantastic

Our butler Dharma was great, at the same time always there but not obtrusive.

We will definitely return.

Room Tip: All good but spa villa worked very well for two children

A most charming "private villa" hotel with extremely fine service to match. If you want to get away from it all, be treated with the upmost hospitality, enjoy fabulous spa treatments, and dine in a beautiful, open-air restaurant right on a lovely rice paddy, then The Chedi Club Hotel is the place for you. Not only are the villas beautiful maintained, but the grounds which surround the entire hotel are also impeccable. The hotel is located just outside Ubud, the cultural center of Bali, with free shuttle service into Ubud any time of the day. Also offered at the hotel is any type of private tour you might like to do on Bali - from half-day to full-day excursions.

From the moment we got there until the day we left, we couldn't have received better service than what was provided by The Chedi Club. An unbelievable experience.

And, to top it off, included in the price of the room was a wonderful, full-service breakfast, a fully stocked mini-bar in our villa, high tea, a free cocktail hour before dinner, a butler on call, and free shuttle service to and from the airport.

Each evening a special Balinese style dinner was part of the menu selection, and was most reasonable priced. All the staff, including the General Manager and the Chef, were always available and were making sure you were well taken care of.

Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: We got a villa with it's own pool and with a butler on call. I don't think there is a bad v...

Wow, we were very impressed with the Chedi Club all round.

The setting is beautiful, surrounded by rice paddies (the restaurant is open to the fields and a wonderful setting for breakfast), and the grounds of the hotel are spacious and pretty.

We stayed in the pool villa, which was spacious and had everything you could need. The inclusion of an iPod with a huge selection of music was a nice touch (there are speakers in the pool area so you can listen outside too), as was the fresh fruit, drinks, coffee machine, daily newspaper and daily laundry service. The pool is larger than most private pools, so you can have a proper swim.

Breakfast and Afternoon tea was included, plus a cocktail hour, and the food and drinks were of a very high standard. We got a surprise bottle of sparkling rose, chocolate cake and some snacks when we arrived too!

Our butler, Putu, was wonderful, offering to unpack our bags, getting us a table at the best restaurant in Ubud, creating lovely surprises in flowers in our room. He took us on a walk around the paddy fields and local village, which was interesting. The staff generally were excellent actually, and the owner came to introduce himself and see us off at the end of the holiday.

It is a 10 min drive to Ubud, free using the hotel shuttle until 6pm, around £10 after 6pm. Its cheaper to get a local taxi, about half the price, but its nice to have the security and friendliness of the hotel drivers.

We felt very special at the Chedi Club, and would definitely go back, and recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing stay.

It's simply the best place i've stayed in. Work in travel, been to many hotels and resorts, but this one will always have a special spot, impeccable service, friendly staff, amazing food, our villa was great. Will definitely go again.

Room Tip: This place is a treat, so definitely go for the private pool villa, it's worth it

We are very enjoy during 3 days stay in this hotel everything was perfect, the view, the service, the facility and the location. Its not in Ubud but there only 10 minutes by car to Ubud Central with their transport service its so easy go to Ubud. We choice spa resort which already include 90 minutes spa service in hours room. And we have Japa as our personal butler which really helpful during our stay, including arrange for rental motorcycle for us. The poor thing was when I make reservation the reservation team not inform about special promotion until March 2013, if you stay 2 nights you can get 1 night free, and no one tell me about this promotion, if they tell us first about this, I can arrange my time to stay longer. For me its not unfair for not inform promotion to the customer.

Room Tip: Choose the spa room, its already including spa service during your stay there.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your review; we are happy you enjoyed your stay with us and I have passed your comments to Japa; they are very much appreciated.

Regarding the promotional offer, as with most hotels and airlines, we use dynamic pricing, where offers and rates change depending on booking levels. Offers such as our 2+1 night promotion are published and recommended depending on what level the room availability is, and whether it is the low or high season. Availability can change daily as we have only 20 villas and just one or two bookings made before you for the same date could change the promotions that are available – the hotel was fully booked during the Easter weekend for example.

We are very sorry that you were not able to take advantage of our promotion and we do hope to welcome you back to the Chedi Club soon for a longer stay.

Thank you again for your feedback, with best regards,

General Manager

This hotel is stunning and one of the best we have ever visited. The rooms are large and spacious and the extra touches such as your personal butler make it special. The hotel has wonderful grounds full of birds and it was lovely in the morning to sit outside with an excellent cup of tea and watch the birds visiting the pond outside our room and likewise enjoying an excellent gin and tonic thoughtfully provided in your room at no additional cost. The open air bathroom takes a little getting used to. The pool is wonderful and on our 3 day stay here we had the pool to ourselves most of the time. The spa is also very good. The downside is the restaurant and whilst breakfast was excellent served looking over the rice fields, dinner was a disappointing evening due to lack of atmosphere, average food and price of the food and drinks - most people ate out of the hotel by taking a taxi to Ubud - eating when there is only one other couple in the dining room lacks vibrancy. On lots of our visits to various hotel this always seems to be a problem that management fail to grasp, surely it is better to have a restaurant buzzing and alive by offered excellent food and drink at reasonable prices than an empty one with staff paid to stand around whilst the guests take a taxi to something with more life,

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your review of our property; we appreciate your feedback and I have shared it with our team. Regarding restaurants, Ubud has many dining options that our (and most other hotel) guests like to explore, and like you, we also considered our Food & Beverage offering worth improving. Since February this year we have a new Chef, originally from Singapore, who is working very hard on keeping our restaurant interesting and the food to a high standard. Since his arrival we have received numerous positive comments about the food! In two weeks we are implementing a full new menu, and we will definitely keep your comments in mind while doing the new pricing.

Thank you again for letting us know you enjoyed your stay, and on your next visit we're looking forward to show you the improvements we have made!

Our evening arrival was met with mesmerizing magical starry night and musical lulling of rice field nature. After a lengthy ride from the airport, we were met by our personal butler at the entrance. He checked us into our Villa (#1) inside our villa. Given it was dark, my first impression of the property was taken first at sunrise-- absolute stunning, great representation of Ubud- which is a painted vivid natural scape and with background music by natures- water, birds, insects, rustling of leaves. (We live in Singapore, there is the need to escape the traffic, construction and crowd to reset our senses). We were told the hotel was 100% full during our 3 night stay. Given the expansiveness of the complex, the most number of people (about 8 parties) we saw was during breakfast or dinner. Our butler was not intrusive of our privacy and was very helpful in all aspects from arranging tours and finding out about artists whom we are interested in and where their works are being displayed. The driver who took us on our full day tour was knowledgeable of the area in Ubud and his English was very good. We have 2 children (age 10 & 11) whom I wish there was some activities available for them- such as arts and craft or bike ride within the hotel, etc. That being said, I sent them exploring the rice field complex on their own. My daughter was thrill with the black and white swans. They enjoyed swimming in their very own pool and have their own room. The breakfast included in the room rate was good; cocktail and teas were also part of the room rate. Try the red basil mojito. Certain nights there are Kecak performances, we took of advantage of that along with a tour of the rice field and adjacent village led by our butler. The staff was very warm and well trained. Will definitely stay there again when in Ubud.
