We are currently booked into this hotel . Not a great first impression when you walk up to the front desk and greeted with the words when you ask about the rooms , sorry we don't take walk ins . We saw this listing on agoda and wanted to view the rooms first before confirming our booking as agoda and trip advisor has mixed reviews about this place. It's about a 5 min drive from the main ubud scene . Taxi cost 125 k a trip . We approved of the superior room and booked through agoda . As the hotel was away from stores we decided to stop at a local store for some basic supplies before heading back to the hotel . On our return we were horrified to learn that they double booked the last superior room that we had viewed and booked . The lady at the front had no authority to sort this issue out so the manager speaks to us , offering their so called upscale hotel ( about 15 min away from this hotel ) at the same rate for their superior room booking . The taxi cost there is 400 k a trip . That was not an option for us . So he then offers us a standard room at a slight discount for our inconvenience . The standard rooms have no porches and giving our frustration and fatigue of travelling ,we decided to take it . A big mistake . The street light shines into the room at night . Lots of noise from the locals on streets . You can hear the trafiic go by .The wifi is non existent in the room ( a big fail as we are working on this trip ) . They don't have windows on a few windows , just a mesh with holes in them . Mosquitos were horrendous during our poor sleep . I have no idea how huge bugs Got into the toilet area . The toilet seems to be leaking .

The room itself is a fair size with a huge bath tub but the bathroom needs some love .
The fan seems to suffice in the room even though it's placed over the bed which some might find annoying . There is no telephone in the room so you need to walk to reception if you require their help .

I can't fault the grounds as it reflects typical Bali old world charm style . I will complete my review of this hotel at the end of my next 4 nights ! ( as we are stuck here due to no refund policy ) .

This was our first trip to Bali and now we know how lucky we were to stay at Tanam Sakti (which means Magic Garden, and in deed it is).

This resort style accommodation has only 8 rooms in 4 two storey stylish buildings. Because of the small number of rooms, it is very peaceful. The grounds are designed with style and I felt like a child exploring around its corners.

There is a little shop about 50m from the resort, so you can stack up on bottled water till 10pm at night. There is no restaurant (though breakfast was cooked there), but there is room service and the food brought is as good as we ate in any restaurant. There is also another resort uphill, about 5 min walk in the opposite direction and its kitchen is open till 10pm.

We were in room 103. The porch overlooks the valley and is next to the small waterfall, so you can hear its rumble (softly) from the porch. It also overlooks a small covered shared deck, but we only experienced few families having breakfast there on some of the mornings, so overall it felt very private. This room is also within the WIFI range that is located on another shared deck. The only downside having this room is that you can hear people walking upstairs.

Everything was very clean: the pool, the gardens and paths, the room and bathroom. The only unusual thing was that the 'queen' bed was really 2 single beds pushed together, leaving a 'ridge' in the centre.

The service was always with a smile, but we did tip for room service and massages.

I would also highly recommend the Ubud area to those who want to freely explore the rice fields, monkeys, elephants, gardens and get access to the volcanos, yet still experience the craziness of the markets and traffic. Though on the map it appears only a short way from Denpasar, it is about 1.5-2.00 hrs drive due to traffic, so we felt fortunate (again) that we stayed in that area, not the overrated Kuta with its extremely smelly streets.

Room Tip: If you don't want to hear footsteps coming from the ceiling, choose an upstairs room.

The staff is very helpful and friendly. The surrounding is very quiet and very peaceful. There are only a few room and not many people staying there. The room is very spacious and we love the large bathtub. there are also cables and complimentary Wi-Fi. This place is quite far from ubud central, about 20 minutes walk. The only downside is there is no aircond.

We absolutely loved our stay here after stumbling across it by accident. The location was truly stunning and the room was very spacious and we loved the big bath. The staff were incredibly helpful and would definitely recommend this beautiful place. Great value! We´ve uploaded a few of our own pics as their photos really don´t do justice to the place.

Taman Sakti is a small resort located about 15 minutes walk for Ubud Market. We stayed there for five days. From the other review on TripAdvisor, it has been about three years since the last guest posted it. So, here goes. It is a clean place with a friendly staff. The breakfast needs work though with limited choice (2) for someone staying more than two days. By the second day, we decided to eat out for all meals.

The room was very dated. This really could use some attention. The kitchennet is not worth the extra money you will pay to get it. I don't think I could bring myself to use anything in the kitchen. This was a big let down. For the price, this was unacceptable. We would have gone somewhere else, but most of the places we checked were booked and we could not get a place for five days in a row.

The room only comes with a fan. No A/C. Again, for this price, it should have one.

The staff was nice and very helpful.

The good thing about Taman Sakti for us was it was down a quiet road. Ubud basically shuts down by 2300 every night anyway, but during the day, Ubud is alive and kicking.

We would recommend Taman Sakti as a fourth choice. There are better options in this price range (US58), so continue looking.

The Rooms are beautifully deisgned with sumptuious baths and separate toilets, some rooms have little kitchens. The rooms are light and airy with lots of screen windows. You feel very relaxed and private, very reasonably priced, look forward to going back
