We stayed here for 4 nights last year with our children and stayed on the top floor of the Indus house and had arranged our booking via email with great ease. Beautiful reception area. This place is quite magical, the staff are attentive and friendly but never intrusive. Our room was beautiful, large bedroom with a separate single bed and day bed for our 2 kids, large wardrobe/ dressing area and a beautiful big bathroom we had a large balcony with tables and chairs and another day bed. A delicious breakfast severed every morning on your balcony at whatever time you request, just order the night before. The grounds here are truly amazing, everywhere you look there's something special, a statue, pond, orchids, just an amazing place. Afternoon tea is complimentary and it was lovely to sit by the pool or on our balcony in the afternoon enjoying homemade cake and a cup of tea or coffee. Ubud is about 10 minutes walk away but you need to cut through though the a Monkey forest down the road, the staff will happily run you into town at any time and come and collect you later on. It is very peaceful here which can take some getting used to as it's such a contrast to Kuta etc. so it may not be for everyone. Most mornings we awoke to the sound of a far off rooster and sometimes what sounded like chanting or praying. There is some wildlife here too, never saw any monkeys around the hotel but the odd lizard or gecko. We went for several early morning walks in the surrounding streets and it was lovely to see a more traditional side of Bali, kids going off to school etc. We had some food delivered on our first night from one of Alam Shanti's restaurants, can't recall the name but the food was delicious. All in all a wonderful experience.

We had a lovely 3 nights in Laskmi..the only room available. Very clean and was ample space for 2 adults and 1 14 year old. Wayan was very friendly at front reception..some of the others were friendly but did not go out of their way. Breakfasts fresh and very prompt. Towels could use an upgrade..but all in all a wonderful Balinese experience! The village is very quiet and a quick walk around MF to get to town-a wonderful oasis. A couple of excellent finds close by: Murni Spa, Alam Wangi Spa,Leke Leke, Chili Cafe.

Ps.. We used Dewa the driver from the hotel for airport pick up and also one hired him for a full day. Very professional and a wonderful day!

Great little villa style rooms out amongst farmland. Was reasonable convenient, 20mins to walk to the town via the monkey Forrest which was also great to see. The attached spa was a decent, if not a little overpriced, but all in all pretty good.

Alam Shanti is an excellent place for a peaceful homebase while exploring Ubud. We spent a week there, and loved coming "home" each afternoon after seeing sights in town. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the room and balcony were spacious and comfortable, and the pool was great for kids. We were concerned that being south of the Monkey Forest would make getting into town a hassle, but the walk is fairly short, or using the free shuttle service is an easy option. Now that we're home, we miss falling asleep to the sound of frogs.

Excellent proximity to Ubud. Just the other side of the monkey forest, Alam Shanti allows you to unwind after the enjoying the hustle of central Ubud. The staff is accommodating and friendly. We stayed in the Laksmi which was quite roomy. It's not extravagant, it's simple and comfy, just what we were looking for. There was a day bed outside of our room that I enjoyed just doing nothing on cept for enjoying the sites and sounds of the area. Oh, and their breakfast is yummy!

Our eighth stay at Alam Shanti . Always come to Ubud at the start of our yearly Bali holiday to chill and relax before going down to Tuban. Never disappointing. Just luv the peace n quiet. Staff do leave you alone but isn't that what Alam Shanti is about, privacy. Thankyou Ibu Iya and Wayan our flowers were a special touch. Next year cannot come soon enough. Love to you all . Ibu Jan and Pak Simon.
