I was 'landed' at this place by a tour guide and although the price of the room was quoted as $90 I managed to bring them down to $50. As I arrived at ~7pm, I couldn't be bothered to go and find alternative accommodation. The room itself was very nice, big double bed and spacious room and the bathroom was also quite spacious. I did think it looked quite tired though, could do with a bit of work/upgrade. The hotel was very empty too which may be to do with the price quoted.
The staff were extremely friendly and had a 'special price' with a white water rafting company which they booked me on for 9am the following day. They are also right next door to the Yoga Barn. Breakfast was pretty limited but then, I don't eat eggs so I limited my own options. The hotel was also about a mile from the main centre of Ubud - it had plenty of shops and restaurants nearby but I would've liked to have been more central - again, this is the tour guide's error rather than the hotel itself.
I ended up staying a second night in Ubud and sought a slightly cheaper option with a better offer of breakfast. However I cannot fault the staff at Puri Padi who were very friendly.More
