+ Very stylish villa with private pool, beautiful view, good breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, outdoor shower, good location.

- Expensive spa. In Ubud you can find a perfect spa with more reasonable price. There wasn’t any towel-rail for drying swimsuits and shelf near the wash-hand-stand for our cosmetics (and in the bathroom – the shelf is located very far from shower). During our stay we had a problem with our key and lock – the lock was very tight.

Dear Trashtech,

We are incredibly happy that you had a perfect holiday with us at Aria Villas Ubud. We thank you for your comments; your critique is much appreciated as we continually thrive to improve our services and amenities. In reference to our spa prices, we are aware that our pricing is a little higher than some of the spas in Ubud but this is due to the extensive training that each of our therapists undergo and the quality of Aria's customised spa products which are formulated using only the finest ingredients. We want to give our guests the best possible spa experience without using inferior products.

With best regards,

Our stay at Aria Villas was more than I could have imagined. The staff were lovely, the rooms spotless, exactly as the pictures are, felt like something from a movie. The view over looking the private pool was so picturesque. If your lucky you can even see monkeys, squirrels, many birds and butterflies. The food was good, especially the included breakfast brought to you each morning. The villa was a 10 minute walk from the main street of Ubud, but you can organize a scooter, much easier. I would recommend it to not only couples, but family and friends travelling as well. Next time we are in Ubud we will be sure to stay there again! Thanks to all the staff at Aria!

I'll preface my review by noting that if you seek traditional Bali Baroque--a place brimming with artsy-craftsy tchotchkes, overlooking rice paddies, with gauzy mosquito netting surrounding the intricately carved wooden bed--then this place isn't for you. It's a Dutch modernist's dream interpreted by Singaporean architect Chioh-Hui Goh: floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors spanning two entire sides, white interior walls and fabrics paired with polished concrete and native hardwoods. A few splashes of color—a yellow fruit bowl here, a pair of aquamarine chairs there—a giant flat-screen TV, and some discreet instances of antique wood-carvers' art round out the minimalist décor, accented by live orchids on each bedstand. But the Architectural Digest cover-worthy design isn’t at the heart of why this was our favorite out of the 8 different lodgings sampled around Bali in the span of a month. What compelled us to extend our stay was the consistently superior comfort, service, and location.
Aria is situated overlooking a verdant tree-filled valley, set far back from one of Ubud's quieter side streets, just a 15-minute stroll from Puri Saren/Ubud Palace in the center of town. The villas and their private grounds are spacious, impeccably maintained, with a most comfortable mattress and the best pillows I've experienced away from home in as long as I can remember. The ever-changing made-to-order complimentary breakfasts were delicious, as was the reasonably-priced dinner we enjoyed one lazy night, served in our villa at our leisure. (A pair of Ubud's top chefs, from foodie hotspot Locavore, are the guiding hands behind the menu.) The on-premises masseuses ranked with the best we had in Bali (how could one not partake of spa services everywhere given what a bargain they are relative to the US or Europe): skilled, strong, personable. General Manager Karim and his always-cheerful staff went above and beyond several times during our stay, from the simple kindness of lending me an udeng for an important temple visit during the Galungan/Kuningan holiday period to the protracted pursuit on my behalf of a refund for unused prepaid transport services that I'd arranged while staying somewhere else entirely.
In sum: absolutely deserving 5 stars; a true tempat paling keren.

We stayed at Aria Villas Ubud for two nights and chosed this villa for the view, the private pool and the modern style. The villa is not the cheapest, (higher top market level in my opinion) however, very luxurious with a quite big private pool and very new furniture. We loved the villa and Karim and his team are very helpful and extremely friendly. When we arrived, each of us received a free 5min massage and a welcome drink, so I felt very relaxed already. Later we asked them to book us a fast boat to Gili T and they even managed to get us a 10% discount (with a service provider they did not work with). Very very helpful and nice people indeed. Regarding location, it is a bit of a walk into town (about 20min) and the monkey forest is not really in walking distance, but you can always take a cab or the free bikes. The bed is amazing, loved the mattress. There are a few small things regarding the design, which we already communicated to the management, such as doors don't have handles, which makes it very difficult to lock them, they don't have mosquito nets in the room and the water of our pool actually swaps onto the main path...so anyone, who would be walking along the main pathway, while we were swimming, would be completely wet. But these are definitely small things, which I believe will be resolved overtime, as the villa just opened end of 2013. Definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a private, modern and luxurious villa.

We stayed here for four nights and were so impressed with everything the villa has to offer. From the minute you arrive the staff are so friendly and helpful with a free welcome drink and massage on arrival. We chose the villa as it is in a good location and walking distance to town. The setting is peaceful and we loved the sounds of the roosters and cicadas in the morning! The design of the villas is beautiful and simplistic in keeping with the natural environment. Breakfast is delivered to your villa and we had a feast each morning of eggs, fresh fruit, granola and pastries. The staff are very thoughtful and non intrusive and always make sure to call before entering your villa to give you your privacy. Special mention to Sukma who welcomed us on our first day and to Wyan who gave me a fabulous in house massage. I am 3 months pregnant but she made sure I was comfortable throughout and used the best techniques to give a beautiful pregnancy massage. We could not fault this villa and loved every moment of our stay! Would highly recommend it!

Aria is sort of a last minute choice, but turns out to be a surprise. The villa is not far away from the main street, about a 10 minutes walk, but is quite secluded from the noises outside. It is quite near the village, so do expect to hear the roosters and dogs in the early morning, yet it is part of nature, so not bothering us too much. The room is well organized and private, breakfast could be delivered inside and is very tasty. The villa offers shuttle bus to Ubud center, yet is chargeable, so be prepared to rent a bike or walk just like us if it is just a short distance.
The only thing we are not comfortable is that even booked through booking.com, Aria did not credit the room charge before our arrival and did not tell us about the credit card charge which is 1.8%, it is an extra cost which could be avoided if it is credited beforehand just like other villas did.

Dear Lauraking0411,

Thank you for staying with us at Aria Villas Ubud. We are so sorry to hear that you felt uncomfortable with the billing process and related charges. As you booked through booking.com the terms and conditions in your booking confirmation should have stated that the accommodation charge would be settled at the time of check out. We are not entitled to pre-charge stays booked through booking.com and other online travel agents. The 1.8% credit card transaction charge that you refer to is a fee charged by the Indonesian banks for credit card use. This also happens in retail stores, restaurants and other resorts. The only way to avoid such charges is to book directly with Aria through our website, which allows for payment via Paypal, this way you do not incur any charges and you could settle payment prior to your stay. Please contact us directly if we can be of assistance in the future.

Aria villas are a little piece of heaven.

Everything is spot on bliss. From the moment you step into the modern outdoor reception area you know you are in for a treat. The cool welcome drink was exactly that after sweating it out in the sun.

The villas are beautifully designed, modern minimal without being pretentious and the private infinity pools amazing. Outdoor bath and shower gave the wow factor you're looking for. Everything is clean and new and the attention to detail like the turn down service and icy poles by the pool in the afternoon just enhance an already amazing place.

The staff are so attentive and friendly and nothing at all is a problem. Room service was finishing just as I felt like something light to eat but the chef kindly stayed back to make me a delicious ceasar salad and chocolate mouse.

Breakfast was yummy, you order the night befor and they deliver to your villa at the nominated time the next day with a courtesy phone call to check you are ready.

Had an in room massage and again the service was faultless and so relaxing. I only wish I had time to try out all the massage option.

We used the bikes to ride around the countryside and to the monkey forest...well worth using the bikes as I'm not a terribly fit person but found the ride not very strenuous and much better way of getting around then pounding the pavement in the heat.

I honestly can't speak highly enough of these villas...we are an engaged couple and after our stay at aria villas are seriously contemplating an ubud wedding with our honeymoon here. It doesn't get any better.
