“Beautiful setting not too far from Ubud centre”
Reviewed 13 October 2012

My first time here was memorable. It's location is not too far from Ubud centre and shuttle service is availble on scheduled time. It takes about 5-10 minutes by car to Ubud centre.

The space is expansive, green and lush. It offers a peaceful ambience that is tranquil and relaxing. Pathways connect the villas to various parts of the resort hotel and the walk is shaded and pleasant.

Although the villas are slightly worn and some of the light are not working properly, they are well appointed, complete with private pool, a pavilion, and private outdoor space, large marble flooring and walls bathroom with water closet cubicle, shower cubicle and a large outdoor bath area with tub and shower.

Breakfast is a feast at the restaurant overlooking lush greenery and the pool area. The pool is wide and looks towards more greens. Service level is acceptable but can definitely be improved and personalized. A nice touch was when we were led to our villa, there was a welcome sign by the door that had both our names printed on.

Overall this is one of the few choice hotels for me when in Ubud.

I can safely say that my wife and I have never ever stayed in such perfect accommodation on any vacation we have ever been on in our entire lives that lives up to the perfection of Ubud Village Resort and Spa. The staff knew that it was our honeymoon and made it the most perfect trip we could have ever imagined. The villa we had for a week was the closest thing to absolute luxury we have ever experienced. Immaculately maintained, clean and perfectly managed. Breakfast (that was included) was one of the highlights of our trip. The incense smelling sweet in the morning and the beautiful smiles on the faces of the extremely well trained happy and friendly staff made us feel at home instantly. When we arrived they even had a welcome message in a frame which said 'welcome home Mr and Mrs Sharp, enjoy your private villa'!! We were speechless when we arrived jetlagged and weary to be greeted by a tropical welcome drink and a golf cart ride to our private villa. The grounds of the hotel are minutes away from the main streets in Ubud and the security staff check the cars coming in and out of the compound (which is reassuring). The hotel is Balinese owned and run, and the staff seem to run themselves with hidden management, or so it seems. We left our hearts there in Ubud Village Resort and Spa. Thank you for making our trip exceed our expectations.

Room Tip: Bungalow 433! It is one of their 6 private Villas and overlooks the rice paddies. Some construction...

We were very impressed by the tranquil setting with views of rice paddies and lush gardens. The resort was an oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of modern Bali. Our villa was an oasis of ultimate luxury - four poster beds, outdoor bathing, plunge pool, orchids and frangipani. our host, Kama, was very professional, attentive, helpful, warm and friendly. Breakfasts were a delight of international cuisine. We particularly enjoyed the Japanese breakfast of fish, rice, pickles and omelette. The fresh fruit was fabulous as well as the local fruit jams and preserves. We can thoroughly recommend this resort and intend to return as often as we can.

Room Tip: Our villa was number 32. It was fabulous - very quiet, private and midway between reception and brea...

This hotel was set in an exquisite setting overlooking the rice fields. The resort offered the perfect retreat from the noise and frenetic activity in Ubud town. The bungalows were very luxurious and like other guests, my jaw dropped when I was shown the outdoor bath, indoor shower, outdoor shower and large plunge pool!! The service was excellent and staff could not do enough to help. The shuttle between the hotel and the town centre was very useful since the high humidity meant that walking sapped a lot of energy. The beds were enormous, although the large canopy over the top meant that it was very hot to sleep in since the cool air from the fan could not penetrate.

For me, the things that made it not quite perfect were firstly the breakfast which was a set menu which had little variety. A buffet breakfast would have been much better with some healthy options for those who want to avoid a heart attack and not send their cholesterol through the roof. Breakfast was a VERY slow process and there was a long wait to receive any food. The second thing which made the resort not quite perfect (which to be fair applies to Ubud in general, was the pollution). I don't think I ever saw a clear sky. Every couple of days, one of the staff went round with a machine belching smoke which we understood was to eliminate the mosquitos. This necessitated going indoors for fifteen minutes or so until the smoke haze had cleared. Also, we hired the bicycles from the resort but I would advise hiring them from elsewhere since they were in poor condition.

However overall, we had a very relaxing stay at this hotel and I would definitely recommend it for those wishing to recharge their batteries and have some R and R.

Room Tip: We were in a very private location in a block near the hotel reception. We were very happy with ou...

If you want to stay at a serene resort in a beautiful location that doesn't attract all the crowds, this place is for you. The villas are outstanding with beautiful views on rice fields (not all are green all the time because of the harvesting cycle), and so is the property, the pool and the breakfast.

This resort is amazing, we only had two nights but should have stayed longer, really good bungalows with private pool and fish ponds, sunken bath and every thing you could want . Friendly helpful staff and more space than you could ever want. We did not get blown away with the food but were not staying long enough to make a fair . Landscaping and lighting brilliant.

Room Tip: Room 230 , very secluded with great views.

We stayed two days at Ubud village resort. At the travel agency they recommented this resort as a must do and a real gift to urself. So we decided to take this one instead of Maya Ubud. The resort is very beautiful. The sights are stunning and there are almost no other people at the restaurant, swimming pool, resort what makes it very relaxing. The personal is very friendly and always in for a chat. The two days outside our room were very nice.

The thing what made us not vote for the maximal score is the fact we booked a riceview room and got a room looking at the swimming pool with a small piece of dry died rice field of 1 meter between. Also the large palm trees in the garden made my girlfriend a bit sad she could not sunbath in the backyard and we had to go to the swimming pool afterall. It was a bit disappointing since we payed twice as much for the stay compared to other hotels. The bath and two showers were nice with part glass wall and part outside.
