We stayed here with another couple for 4 nights. Our accommodation was in one bedroom villas Cempaka and Jepun. As mentioned by other reviewers if you want to stay in private Balinese style villas with very friendly and helpful staff you can't go past Nefatari.
The inclusions make these villas great value:
The transfer from the airport and transportation to our next hotel in Legian.
Freshly prepared breakfast served until 1pm. We didn't take advantage of delivery to our villa as we were travelling with friends, choosing to eat in the open air restaurant area instead.
Afternoon tea delivered to our villa.
Complimentary cool drinks and snacks in the mini bar.
Shuttle service to anywhere in the Ubud area until 10pm. We never had to wait very long for a pickup. The unavoidable traffic congestion was the factor in wait times.

We thoroughly enjoyed the open air bathroom, spaciousness of the villa, excellent ceiling fan and air conditioning, the outdoor dining area and private pool and sun lounges. Being located out of town amongst rice paddies the villas are very tranquil and relaxing apart from the local rooster who hasn't learnt that the day doesn't start at 330am!
The food was always fresh and tasty. We had lunch and a dinner at the villas.
The staff were always very helpful - whether it was delivering an ice bucket and glasses for our wine to assisting us with bookings and recommending a local spa for massages when the on-site spa was fully booked. We did try a massage at the on-site spa but found it wasn't as good as the one we had in Ubud. The location of the spa however is lovely and tranquil with the sounds of the creek running past and birds in the trees.

Prior to arriving at Nefatari I always received prompt responses from Mr Made to my enquiries.
We wouldn't hesitate to return here on our next visit as Nefatari ticked all the boxes for us.

We stayed here for 2 nights on a honeymoon package and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property has a rustic charm to it. Right from the time we got our car pick up from the airport, the staff were very helpful and hospitable. The moment they realized we were on our honeymoon, they arranged floral decoration in our room(though it wasn't part of our package). The villa was lovely, very cozy and comfortable, and neat and clean. On one occasion, when a big lizard entered our room late in the night, the staff acted on time and drove it out. Since we were vegetarians, they took special care in making our food suited to our taste and requirements. Mr Made, the manager requires special mention as he took personal interest in our stay and helped us figure our way through Ubud. He gave us details of the place which was very useful. Also, the spa treatments, part of the package was extremely relaxing and had a wonderful setting. We wish we had stayed here for longer and would love to visit again.

We stayed here for 5 nights as part of our honeymoon trip and had an absolutely lovely time. As others have commented, the staff really do go all out to make sure you have everything you need. We never had to wait more than 5 mins for a car to take us into town or pick us up and the hotel even collected us from the main airport even though our flight was delayed.

The food was absolutely delicious and what a treat to be able to have our breakfast on the patio of our private villa every day.

The room was lovely, spacious and the outside bathroom was just beautiful.

Lastly, the spa treatments were just fantastic, readily available, great value and in a beautiful setting.

I would heartily recommend Nefatari to others.

Room Tip: To be honest, I think they are all lovely!

We reached Nefatari after a long drive from our hotel in Nusa Dua. We were shocked when the hotel told us that although we had a confirmed booking, they had no room available and we would have to stay in another hotel nearby and return the next day. The booking was not only confirmed, we had already paid for the two nights via credit card and we even had confirmed our booking via email before going to Bali. So you can imagine our shock and dismay when we were told that due to " a misunderstanding" by one of the staff there were no rooms available for us.

We had a very small baby with us and to be forced to shift around was really inconvenient. The worst part was that the hotel where we had to spend the first night was just aweful. There were just too many insects and Mosquitos, it was very shabby and we were the only people staying the night. I would have expected Nefatari's manager to meet us that night or at least the next morning to apologise for the mistake. But he did not meet us at all. Also nefatari should have refunded us the full amount for the first night, but they refunded only partially. Also no refund of the 20% tax amount.

The next day we were told that our room would be available at 9 but it was finally made available at 11. The villa itself was nice and spacious. There are a lot of insects around esp Mosquitos and lizards. The hotel put 2-3 mosquito coils in our room in the evening. It's common knowledge that the fumes from these coils are very bad for health and also it becomes very suffocating. I felt that the mosquito nets they had would have been sufficient.

The pool was large enough but water tasted bit odd. We however used the pool and our baby enjoyed it. There are sun bathing chairs also. We had our lunch and dinner in the villa itself. The chocolate ice cream was good.

All in all I would say:
- the hotel staff are nice but I have never been turned away from a hotel after confirmed booking and payment. This was handled very badly.
- the hotel is surrounded by paddy fields, so be prepared for insects and Mosquitos.
- there is almost nothing to do locally, so you have to go to Ubud town for everything.
- there is an unmistakable constant smell of cow dung, all the time!
- the free airport drops and Ubud drops save you a lot of headache and money.
- stay if you want to do nothing except chill by the pool all day. That too a pool used by many and cleaned not too many times.

Ok..so this review has been long overdue . We spent an amazing 3 nights in Ubud at the Nefatari Villas in December 2012 . The Villas are beautifully done up and spacious , and radiate a true "Bali feel " . The service is outstanding and the staff literally bend backwards to ensure a comfortable stay for their guests . In brief ,I would list the following pros and cons -

Pros :
-Beautiful natural and eco friendly surroundings
- Helpful and friendly staff
- Excellent and delicious breakfasts served in the comfort of your Villa till noon
- Private pool
- Reasonably priced ,decent Spa and restaurant facilities
- Free Shuttle facility to and from Ubud ,anytime ,even late night
- Great place for those who want an offbeat and relaxing holiday experience

Cons
- A little far from main Ubud area and market ,so you might need to depend on the shuttle services by Nefatari
- Limited food and entertainment options in the Villas
- Candle light dinner as part of Honeymoon package (which we took ) could be more impressive

Overall : Recommended !!
