but it was nice though....

Positive: we had a valley pool-Villa and the view was really nice into the lush green
and valley. The pool was very small though.

Negative: we had to Change the room. They gave us the pool-Villa and 10 meters
behind they had constructions going on in some rooms or Bungalows. This is really
not acceptable if you understand HIGH-END markets (HI-END PRICES = HIGH-END markets)
It was around Christmas, the Hotel fully booked and still they keep working like there are no guests around, unacceptable. Gladly we could move to Villa 102 which was fine for us.
The Villa inside was very clean , a bit dated of course but fine, no complaints.
The breakfast was fine but limited , the staff are very kind and attentive, the view from the Restaurant is amazing indeed.
The shuttle-Service offered from the Hotel is very good.

We stayed at this property for 2 nights, as part of our honeymoon, during Christmas week. The timing itself is not good, because Christmas is really high season in Bali. The property however - is flawless.

The good:
As soon as we stepped out of our rental car, the front office manager greeted us at the front porch (by name!). We were then whisked into a large daybed/chair, just to relax while the porter carried off our bags from the car. We were served some cold towels, hot ginger drinks with honey and home-made cookies while we waited for the check in process to complete.

The front office manager (Tami) is very kind, and very attentive to all our needs without being too intrusive or too formal. After the process is complete, we were paired with a personal assistant (Wayan Eric) for a short tour of the property. Wayan showed us the bale (main community hall), library and business center, restaurant, main pool, spa and finally to our private pool villa.

The villa itself is a large tatched roof villa, with its own courtyard, plunge pool and traditional cabana. It has his and her sinks, indoor rain shower, separate commode and an outdoor granite stone tub, surrounded by a lily pond.

The bed is a king-size four poster, with mosquito netting, even though we don't need it. The room also has a daybed, dining table, working table and an entertainment center, complete with Apple TV with its own movie and music library. The hotel also provides afternoon tea with traditional Balinese cakes. The property was also kind enough to arrange flowers on the bed before we came in, really nice touch! They also provide a jar of home-made chocolate chip cookies, complimentary for us!

The villa overlooks a ravine and on the other side, we can still see terraces of rice paddy fields. On numerous occassions, we still saw some herons flying by, and at least once, I saw a wild gamecock.

The restaurant is very good. We can choose from different sets (American, Indonesian, traditional Balinese etc). I opted for traditional Balinese while my wife choose the Indonesian one. We also had dinner one time, and a fix-price special Christmas eve dinner with modern fusion menu - which was really awesome. It is stranger to have modern fusion cuisine in a Balinese property like this - traditional local cuisine would have been more apt - but the food was great. The seafood roll appetizer was crazy good, the crispy salmon fillet rivals the best that any Michelin five-star can offer, the pork medallion and the Australian sirloin were not far behind either. The property also has a spa, which we tried - with a 60 minute couple massage.

On Christmas Eve, the hotel put on a show of traditional dances (by the staff!). There are four dance numbers, and they were all very good.

During the Christmas Eve dinner, Tami made rounds with all the guests, making sure that all of us were well tended. We expressed our desire to try Balinese babi guling (suckling pig) and our concerns that due to time constraints, that we might not be able to try some. She volunteered to get us some in the morning and have us served in the restaurant for our lunch! How can we refuse such offer?

At the end, it was not the facilities. It was that type of service, that permeates from Tami, to all the other staff, that really made an impression on us. This is a property that really cares about the well being and the comfort of the guests, and it shows.

The bad:
We only stayed for 2 days

Room Tip: Our room, room 117 is very private, have great view of the valley

We stayed in Dec in a premier villa valley view room.

Pros:
Beautiful spacious villa interior and great sized pool and view over the valley.
The Spa massage was good and not ridiculously over priced
Lots of regular pick ups and drop offs into center or other restaurants up until 10.30pm
Great view from breakfast restaurant and beautiful communal pool
Good service and friendly staff

Cons
We found the bed is too firm and had backache most days
Having stayed in other resorts in Ubud we felt the gardens and grounds could be better landscaped with more flowers and plants.
Our main complaint is that the breakfast was very poor quality. Although you can order anything on the menu we found the food bland. Even the fruit and juices were tasteless. Because of this we ate out in Ubud every night where the food was fantastic - Bridges & melting wok were great.

The resort is set into the side of a valley in a small village about 15 minutes drive from Ubud. There were spectacular views across the tropical rainforest in the valley from our breakfast table. This is a quiet retreat suitable for couples wanting to escape to a quiet, idyllic getaway. We booked a pool villa and the room was everything that we expected from a resort of this quality, clean, well-appointed and with a style that fitted the surroundings. We had a nice pool in our villa, but unfortunately the weather did not allow to use it during our stay. The staff are extremely friendly, helpful and keen for you to enjoy your stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 nights here and would have liked to stay longer.
Plus points: the service, breakfast and the views
Minus points: the traffic in Ubud is chaotic which often makes the free shuttle pick-up irregular in timing. We waited 45 minutes in Ubud centre for the shuttle, eventually getting a taxi back (which the hotel paid for).

In short : would we return or recommend to friends - most definitely!

A good 15 minutes from central Ubud by their hourly shuttle, which was nice for peace and tranquility no longer found in the town. Good to have access for shopping or dining when desired but to have the peace of the resort which is what we came for ( just the odd rural sounds of roosters ).
We were upgraded to premier valley view villa, which was obviously very new and very comfortable. Able to lounge in pool with view to rice fields across the valley. Staff were delightful and were often greeted by name, and helped to create that feeling of being home when at the resort. Greeted with "welcome home " whenever back from trip into Ubud.
Breakfasts were a feast with several courses provided, so not a quick affair. Good for those looking to slow down and get into relaxation mode. Dinner had reasonable choices but only ate in once and tried some restaurants and cafes in town. Teed up pick ups from some by getting restaurant to call resort and let shuttle know to stop at the restaurant.
Spa services a bit limited and premium prices vs most outside options.
Service and friendliness of staff are real highlights for this property, as is the presentation of the resort with their new pool area and lovely gardens. Room was great and only limitation is limited sheltered area by pool , especially as this was wet season. Means having to spend most time in the aircon of the room. Sometimes nice to be in fresh air ( with mosquito protection on ).

Room Tip: Valley view rooms for privacy, courtyard rooms for more outside areas.

Stayed at this lovely and very tranquil hotel for 6 nights during December 2013. First time we visited Bali and the ride from the airport takes around one and a half hour to reach the hotel. It si definitely recommend to take some kind of transportation as we would never have found the place of our own. The hotel conveniently offers a airport pick up and drop service, but taking a local taxi from the airport is however cheaper.
The reception is situated in the free and we were greeted warmly by the staff when arriving, despite arriving very late after midnight. The hotel is situated in a forest and next to rice fields, completely hidden away from the main road and there are absolutely no noises to be noted except from nature ones. The room we booked was very spacious consisting of a living room with a nice and big bed and a very bug bathroom with a very nice bathtub and of course shower. The amenities were good and everything we needed. Lot's of towels and bathrobes for both of us. In addition to the ropes, there was as well two local "dresses" that we could wear as comfy clothes. The only thing strange about these clothes was that every day there was a newly washed one and a different size. During the stay, I had everything from small to x-large. It does not really matter as they all kind of fit, but the washing could be saved. The wi-fi in the room is unfortunately much too slow and it was quite impossible to load any pages. Lots of tv channels available and a huge library of movies free to watch on apple tv which is in every room. Breakfast is included in the rate and there is a range of different breakfast options to chose from. We tried most of them and they are all very nice and you can basically mix and chose whatever you want. The staff everywhere, whether being the restaurant, the bar, the reception etc. were extremely friendly. We ate some of the days in the hotel as well and the variety of food options is great - many different local dishes and as well more western like dishes and Asian cuisine. Very good value for money, the dishes are cheap and well portioned and you get free welcome drink which is eminent and very tasty. Every afternoon, there is free afternoon tea which includes of course a selection of different teas and a small meal consisting of local small tapas. Every day a different selection of tapas so that you get to taste many different local snacks. We have so many good memories from our trip and visit in Komaneka that we will definitely recommend this place to everyone. The staff really cater to all your needs and will make sure that your stay will be memorable as ours. Thank you staff at Komaneka. Hope to be back one day.

Overall we had a good experience at Tanggayuda, their premiere valley pool villas are spacious, with a nice outdoor shower, pool with view of the valley, polite staff, hourly shuttle to ubud center, main pool (new) has an gorgeous view, and the spa experience was really good.

However there are some points where the property falls short
- the villa: in need of more care: the sink area where the sink meets the wall, the sealing foam used is coming out and unsightly, the stone piece where guests can step on to get into the pool has algae layer on it, making it slippery.
- look and feel of villa, though new, already seems dated. Some part could also have been better designed. eg where the outdoor pool is, the units are divided simply by a concrete slab. That is rather unpleasant to look at. Perhaps a stone feature wall, wooden panels or wall plants would have been better.
- food at breakfast area took more than 30mins to be served, and there were hardly anyone in the restaurant
- breakfast wasn't an enjoyable experience as there was noise (I think tree cutting) from the valley. Though this is no fault of the hotel, but it still made breakfast unenjoyable
- staff members were generally friendly, but on 2 occasions, the one who picked up the guest service call, could not understand english even though I tired my best to speak simply and slowly
