We would just like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff at the Samhita Garden Hotel for their great hospitality, friendliness and smiles. Our stay at Samhita in Novermber was fabulous, we are definately planning to return along with other members of our family. Well done and we look forward to staying with you again.

We stayed with a few friends and found this hotel to be really nice. Large well maintained rooms, beautiful pool and garden. The staff very friendly and helpful and it is well located close to shops and restaraunts. Seemed reasiably priced for this standard of villa in Ubud.

Samhita Gardens is a 'family' style hotel. I wouldn't recommend it for a solo traveller.

The rooms were overpriced at $100 per night. They had HUGE rooms with very little furniture in them. Made them seem bare and quite a waste of space! The first night I stayed there, there must've been some kind of club or party around the corner. The music was pumping till after midnight, and I just wanted to get some sleep! TV only had indonesian channels (no cable).

I paid the same price at Villa Sarna for much better room / service / food / pool / television.

I paid $55 a night at Ubud Aura (right next to Yoga Barn- still in central Ubud), and the room was much nicer with a delicious breakfast.

Save your money and look somewhere else!

We arrived in Ubud one day in advance to select a good hotel to properly accommodate our guests.
We were fairly impressed by this hotel even if it was empty in an high season period close to xmas holidays.
Once we choose the rooms, we got the bargain price of $75 each room.
When we checked out I was surprised to find that the price had become $90.
Since we didn't ask for a written quotation they alleged to claim that I misunderstood. There isn't much to misunderstand between 75 and 90.
I asked to talk to the manager. Contacted by phone, he refused to talk about the case.
Not to raise an issue in front of my guests I had to pay the bill.

I booked into Samhita Garden after reading a few favourable reviews, as I wanted to stay smewhere close to the centre of Ubud, and not rely on hotel shuttles or taxis to commute to and from. And I am very glad I stayed here. It is in a quiet street a very short stroll (no more than 2 minutes) from Ubuds main central street. It is surrounded by high walls which keep out most of the sound - in fact the only noise I heard was the chickens and ducks in a block next door in the morning, and kids singing in a nearby school - certainly none of the traffic sounds, beeping horns that are a fact of life in central Ubud.

The setting is beautiful - superbly maintained gardens, clean pool, very friendly staff. I stayed in a superior bungalow at US$100 per night - brand new, very clean and tidy. Only downside was no drain in the bathroom floor, meaning any accidental water overflow (the baths are great!!!) had to be mopped up. But this was well overcompensated for by the room size and state.

The breakfast was basic (as in every other hotel in Bali) - a fruit platter with juice and tea/coffee, with croissant /toast and jam, and bacon and eggs. Quite filling and beautifully presented. As a plus, the restaurant next door (Artisans Cafe) serves superb food, and has a great drink selection. And only a quick stagger home.

I will certainly stay here in my next trip, and highly recommend the hotel.

We stumbled across Samhita Garden on an earlier Ubud stay this year whilst we were checking out another well known hotel in Jalan Bisma for our August holiday, our usual hotel Tegal Sari was booked out. Well what a find, an idyllic hidden oasis virtually in the heart of Ubud so we immediately booked a two storey suite room by the pool.

August comes around and after a few days stay in Seminyak we arrive in Ubud at 11am not expecting to be able to check in when to our delight we were told we were being upgraded to their brand new two bedroom villa. We are very happy!
The very private villa was in absolute pristine condition it looked like it had hardly been used. Big bedrooms with comfortable bed, dressing room with a safe, double vanities in bathroom with over sized bath and separate shower plus an outdoor shower. The spacious living/dining area also had a kitchen, we were lucky as Wifi worked in the villa.
There was a turn down service at night which you don't often get even in the more expensive hotels.
The gardens are beautiful and the pool is a perfect size for the hotel. We never had a problem getting a chair for a short respite between market visit and walks in the rice fields to the wonderful Sari Organic Cafe.
Breakfast simple but adequate leaving plenty of room to indulge in Ubud's wonderful restaurants for lunch and dinner. The wonderful Cafe des Artistes is right next door.
The entrance door to the Samhita has a statue of a rooster now we know why!
We found the staff delightful no lack of smiles......for us Bali is "the island of smiles".

We are regular Bali visitors, this was our 33rd trip, so we have stayed at many hotels over this period and we will most definitely return to Samitha Garden. We would be happy in any of their immaculately maintained rooms, the older ones near the pool have more Balinese charm. You can not go past the location just a short stroll to the heart of Ubud however far enough away to have a peaceful stay.

We stayed a Samhita Gardens for 3 nights, and loved it. The staff were so friendly and the rooms and property so well looked after. Breakfast was lovely, location was great. You are still so central to everything, but feel so far away (very quiet)...... what else can I say, you would be crazy not to stay at the Samhita Gardens. We are booking for next year.... why look elsewhere.
